I agree with 99% of this video but you got 1 major thing wrong, the ipod didn't revolutionize portable music, that honor goes to the "Walkman"... it walked so the ipod could run lol
You realize there doesn't have to be only one invention that revolutionized portable music, right???? The Walkman made portable music into a trend... but that doesn't mean that iPod didn't revolutionize portable music either....
I recently in the last 2 years got into DAPS because I was frustrated about my music not sounding as good as my PC's sound card when going outside for my daily walks, to which my iPhone using wired headphones paired with any dongle DAC/Amp was missing the richness, clarity and dynamics that my soundcard gave to my music. I didn't even know what a DAP was when mentioned online and I got confused what it was but then I Googled it and finally found out it was Digital Music Player, my music has never sounded better listening to my music outdoors and I wish I got into DAPS sooner, even with my mid-fi headphones like the Focal Elegia and Celestee sound so good on my DAPS, I can't afford high end headphones or DAPS but my budget one's such as the Hiby R5 Gen II and Ibasso DX 170 sound really good to me even though if they're not up there with the very best of DAPS, in terms of sound quality.
Imagine being so out of touch with reality that you think an $800 mp3 player is "not going to break the bank". 99.9% of people could never afford that...
To be fair, this entire thing is a niche market, and they are targeting a specific market of people.... They are targeting audiophiles... a group of hobbyist.... So it's less them being out of touch with reality and you not realize that the target audience is a different group of people. And for audiophiles, even if they aren't rich, they can save up till they reach $1000... and to the audiophile, this would be worth it.... Remember, not every single product or media is for you..... I mean, this is a video targeting people who buy $800 headphones.... is a thousand dollar music player really that crazy????
Imagine being so out of touch with reality that you forget other people exist and that you might not be the target audience???? Sorry, that was mean.... I tried to be funny.... But I wanted you to remember that you aren't the only person that people try to sell stuff too. We just have too many people hating on media that's popular even though they aren't the audience it's intended for it....
You forget one thing: you don't change this kind of device often. A phone may last for a year or two, this could be used for a decade. Not every "next gen" DAP is better than its predecessor and that happens a lot.
Thank you so much for your amazing Video 📹 ❤️... i just bought the Sony's Flagship MDR-Z1R Headphones 🎧 ... what would you Recommend me to buy to listen to Hi-Res Audio this Headphones 🎧 is made for ? Please
Too ridiculously EXPENSIVE. There are soooooo many "Mid-Fi" options...that sound astoundingly great for portable audio. Don't overpay when you don't have to.
I just ordered a B&W Px8. Thus far I’ve been using my old iPhone 6 because the sounds is far better than my subsequent iPhones. I want great sound. I’m a musician so I need most optimal sound possible. What do you suggest I add to my new high end headphones?
@@sunsetpond FiiO BT11 Portable Lossless Bluetooth Transmitter. You'll need a lightning to usbc if using an iphone 6, not with the latest iphones. Flacbox app, fantastic app! If you have music stored on a PC or cloud, it's easy to download/share the music onto your phone. Plays Flac along with another 121 file formats. I hope this helps.
I get why someone might get one of these. But for me, the interface and clickwheel of an ipod is near perfect. These are all touch screen and look like smartphones, they are huge also. I have ipod mini with 64gb mod playing 16 bit wav/alac cd and vinyl rips. Sound great to me! Maybe when I come into some money..
Sony makes a camera centric smartphone, if they made a Dapp which I can make phone calls from I'd buy it in a heartbeat, I'm simply tired of carrying too much tech around on a daily basis.
Are you an Educator? Would you love to have a logo? I'm a freelance logo designer and looking for more works, can I make a logo and artwork for you to help me afford a Sony MDR-Z1R? :-)
It's a shame that Sony has volume capped their latest line of Walkmans like the A306 and the ZX707 ... as I don't care for ibasso or the way way overpriced A&K daps... goodness.. so I had to give up a warranty and import the ZX707 from Japan.. no volume cap... these guys selling at moon audio won't tell you that.. anyways the Japanese versions of these Walkman's sound incredible.
I want to buy Sony MDR-Z1R and MDR-MV1 someday when I can afford them, I would use them for music, movie and game on phone, laptop and tv, does a dongle like Questyle M15i better for me or a DAP like ZX707 better for me? But ZX707 has delay for movie and not ideal to hang on somewhere when use with phone right? Is M15i going to sound nearly the same or better or worse than ZX707?
DAC im using inside my room.. HiFi at my hall.. Both i already set-up for movie and music.. For Mobile im just using BOOM apps + IEM + headphones amplifier..the reason im using BOOM apps is already TIDAL apps. So i didn't used DAP.. The sound FLAC 24bit 144khz...plus BOOM apps already have audio library...
I always liked Sony's portable audio devices but they lost me when they started claiming their specific DAP chassis provided a clearer and better sound.
Yeah, DAPs are cool, but at the end of the day, they are very very expensive. For it's price, I'm going with the iBasso DX180. A lot cheaper and a lot better than the DAPs that Moon Audio sells.
For iems only, My s23 ultra paired with hidizs s9 pro plus dongle dac sounds better than my $1200 dap. Hell, for iems only, it matches my MOJO 2. The MOJO 2 stomps it when using full sized headphones though. Plus the s23 ultra is far faster and more smoother in operation. A DAP should be only used for full sized headphones that need power. Otherwise you are wasting money.
Well there is one other huge reason. If you like to store many lossless files on your phone. well you can't anymore. apple made sure of that. daps allow external swappable storage unless you buy a sony phone you would be out of luck. and also most modern phones suck at powering any iem worth listening to... my pixel 8 pro being one

I have a LG V60 it sounds excellent with a 3.5mm jack connected to a pair of "Klpisch the Nines".
That's why we miss LG phones.

I need a tube DAP capable of changing different type of tubes just like the old Gameboy changed games.

Try HiBy M300. 200 bucks and you have an Android DAP that can basically drive any IEM and earbud. For headphones you probably need a better device.
@@sunsetpond the FIIO brand has some seriously good DAP systems as well ranging from 200 to 1100 and a few in-between!

Returning the headphone jack solves this issue flawlessly. This is pathetic.

Essentially they are forcing you into streaming and high data services.
Is Sony MDR-Z1R able to reach its potential with iPhone plus a Questyle M15i dongle DAC and will Sony NW-ZX707 sound better compare to that?
