Unrelated but I need to emote: I got my last tattoo in 2015. I’ve been preparing my next one (a map of my river with important towns marked by the plants I forage there) for several years, that’s my process, I seem to be telling some sort of story, and if an idea sticks I go with it. In that time, I realized I’d forgotten who my artist was & im kinda face blind so saying “tall blondish guy” in the land of Norwegian & German Americans isn’t much help. My coworker mentioned her guy & his shop and whooooosh it all came back. So now I can get my consult with Steve booked, & I appreciate so much his patience for overly meaningful & symbolic tattoos where line style & corner choices are even imbued with meaning. I’m a pain in the ass to tattoo (kinda…I don’t complain or want extras, I just have a bit too much of my own vision & want too much control, I tend not to ask for their ideas which is rude, but I’m going to let him choose the style this time, his original art is amazing) so I am happy to throw money at this guy!

The obsession goes to a whole new level when it’s also your job 😂🤍 saying this I would never change my partner for anything he always supports my career and he is perfect in his own one tattoo way ✨

Fully agree on not dating people without tattoos. I’ve done it, and that one didn’t like me getting new ones. I am currently dating (not in a relationship with, yet. But fingers crossed, I have a crush 🥲) with a guy who has about as many as I do. I LOVE how we both share the same passion for the art and the tossing back and forth of ideas. Plus they do look good, I definitely find tattoos more attractive than without.

About the dating someone with tattoos, I started getting tattoos in my current relationship and I'm not slowing down, and at first he was supportive but didn't really get it,, now he talks to me all the time about his ideas and his sleeve idea and leg sleeve 🥺🥺💖💖 loves colorful, traditional style tattoos and it makes me want one as well 🥰
When I first started my apprenticeship and was leaning to tattoo on real skin I did both my ankles… honestly I have a really high pain tolerance so it didn’t bother me so bad but it did suck. There are spots that need a touch up down there but i refuse to touch my ankle tattoos again😂
hey, could you do a video on white ink tattoos? I am considering them as i have seen some videos & how they are more subtle. I just cant find a massive amount of information on it.
They often get yellow or fade out completely, leaving patchy stains. White is one of the least lasting colors in tattooing and it's very normal for white to not last more than three yrs. Also she has a video where this is mentioned, if not multiple somewhere on her channel, I binged this entire channel
@@eloylie yeah was wondering then if she has just one video on it? I am considering them because they fade into a scare or become not noticeable but my skin is olive and white for the most part. As well my skin changes in shades a lot because I am mixed race so I am more olive in summer and in winter look lighter but still have a yellow tone Idk I wonder if I would be a person who would have a yellow one instead of it going into a scar or staying somewhat white
to be completely honest, i usually peel my second skin stuff off dry. but to my defense, after the 24-48 hours my tattoo artist tells me to keep it on, it just comes off almost by itself. maybe i'm just oddly sweaty or greasy, but the stuff never hurts when i remove it, and it's never a struggle. it might also be that he's using a type of second skin that just doesn't stick as much. i'm always confused when i see how hard people have to pull on it to get it off, mine just peels off like a gentle bandaid, leaves all my hair where it is.
I think I've said this before but for my first and only tattoos my artist said "please don't take off the second skin like they do on tiktok" 😂 I'm seeing her again next month 😅
Oil works for any adhesive on the body I had surgery and the sticky off the bandages was all over me (there were 13 or 14 wounds I had to be opened a few times ) gentle Massage of almond oil in circles (always circles it lifts it ) boom gone
Just got my first tattoo! Thanks for the years of education and entertainment, it helped me feel confident in my choice and it helped a lot to know what to expect.
I get the not wanting to date non-tatted people as in they don't really understand. My current partner I feel like, doesnt really understands but he still supports me, so that really works for him as being a genuinely kind and supportive person. He insists "the dude on your leg looks weird", but wants to use my tattoos as a colour book so... It depends on the personality !
I am in a long-term relationship. If anything (God forbid) happened with this relationship, I would definitely date someone with tattoos. I don't have tattoos but I have been desperate for one for the last 20 years. I think up tattoo designs, research different artists and their work, I know exactly which tattoos I'd like in what order and by who. But my partner is not a fan of tattoos at all and heavy discourages me everytime bring it up. So, no tattoos
I got my first tattoo at 19 on my lower back and when my mum saw it, she flipped out at me. Until I reminded her that she has 5 tattoos of her own. She shut up after that. Now she's dead and I have 27 tattoos. Also, my husband didn't have any tattoos before he met me, now he has 3 and he's planning a sleeve lol
Almost all of my tattoos are flowers or animals inspired by characters I like. That way if I ever change how I feel about those series for whatever reason, I'll still have reason to like the tattoos.
15 years ago I got my tummy tattooed and we blacked out the belly button and I did not feel a thing. I legit thought my artist was psyching me out just holding it above the naval making noises then poof, black belly button.
am i the only one who still just gets plastic wrap when they get tattooed? i've only had second skin once and it didn't even stick because of the humidity.
I do too! I've gotten second skin a few times but I don't think my tattoos heal as nice and sharp with it. My regular artist stopped using it anyway because two clients of his got an allergic reaction within a week.
I got a plastic wrap since it was too big and in an area that moves a lot (it's a half sleeve), but I've also had second skin where the tattoo was smaller
As a tattoo artist, I don't use second skin on my clients. So many people are sensitive/have allergic reactions to the adhesive that I prefer not to risk it.
Hm I feel like the tramp stamps are not a millennial tattoo. They def come from the era of "tribal" tattoos when millennials were still too young to get tattooed
30:41 I want one of my first tattoos to be a tattoo based on the book "they both die at the end" it's my favourite book and also the book that got me back into reading so it's very special to me
If you use sketchy ink at home or go to a sketchy tattoo shop and then get an MRI, you can get a burn from the MRI if the sketchy ink has metals in it. Just saying 😜 Older tattoos might have metal in the ink but most current accredited artists use ink that doesn't have metals. That's my dumb explanation passed on from my MRI technician
The one with the kiddo doing the tattoo near the beginning... it said in the vid that it was his daughter, so while I understand all of the concerns you mentioned and agree, generally, that kids don't really have the coordination for this safely; in this case I'm okay with this personally. The dad is receiving a tattoo from his daughter, with what looks like supervision of the mother. I haven't gone back to look it over again but just on the morals of it I think that's honestly one of the safer ways to introduce a kid to the idea. They have all the consent and they're guiding their kid in a controlled environment. I would assume it's not something they do every day, but rather a sparing occasion with their daughter. But that's just me, I feel like it's kinda wholesome and cute. 🤷♂🤷♀
I had a date recently that kind of anounced that he was all natural on the first date (almost bragging), which felt odd when I just showed my piercings, tattoo and obviously dyed hair and shared my future plans for more piercings and tattoos. Let's just say that there was no second date.
My very first tattoo was around my ankle! Honestly I'm glad it was my first because after some of my others and knowing how much they hurt I think I would have wimped out!
I'm with a guy without tattoos and I don't mind it. The thing that would disqualify a person is not loving pets. 😅 Tattoos are less important for me than my cats. But I get it! It just depends on your priorities I think, when it comes to hobbies etc.
I have a number of tattoos that I want, but your sleeve reminds me of the one that's going to take the longest for me to get: I want my left arm (from finger to shoulder) tattooed to look like tree bark. Your sleeve is so pretty it makes me hopeful for the day I can afford to start getting tattoos ❤️
Got my thigh shaded and coloured today, got second skin for the first time, all my other tattoos were cling film wrapped, second skin is definitely more comfortable and i will definitely be taking it off slowly in a warm shower, no ripping for me nope nope nope.
My first 2 tats, I designed em. They’re not big or elaborate, but I spent a few years messing with the 2 designs and how they should look. This was over 10 years ago and I still love them. Just wish I had been made aware that when it’s words, that the size of what you tattoo/write matters, cuz the smaller the letters with time the ink will blow out, spread and become blurry. Both my tattoos are words, only one became blurry because the writing was dainty and small, which at the time when it was fresh it was so cute. Not so much now 😂😂
As you said Hello! My kitten Freddie Merclawy bounded in, tail up in greeting and doing a loud "Brrrrrr!" Up at the screen to you. Just thought youd like to know that!
Getting my first tattoo this Friday! I'm not going to lie I'm very nervous lmao 😅😅 As always, thank you for these videos. They always make me so happy!
15:43 Definitely a guy with tattoos. It’s a must for me now. I remember when I booked my first tattoo and my boyfriend at the time got so mad when I told him that he left me in the park and stormed off. He made me swear that it would be my only tattoo and that he wouldn’t marry me if I got anymore. Then when I actually got it, he got so pissed because it was bigger than he expected. He just hated tattoos and recused to why it was so important to me. He just said I was being selfish and doing it to spite him. Obviously that relationship ended soon after that. Now, I just want someone who doesn’t just tolerate my tattoos but gets it and even finds me hotter with them! I also just personally find men much sexier with tattoos, lol
Waited to watch your video til dinner is done I've been with my guy and I'm tattooed he is not and it never comes up cuz he appreciates me enjoying myself
When I recently took off some second skin (I'd forgotten how to take it off properly since it's been a while sine my last tattoo), it was the parts touching untattooed flesh that hurt and were stuck down, the tattooed parts were fine. Even so, next time, I'll do it the right way.
Not sure why but usually I get bored half way through watching something like I can always tell when I'm at the half way point through a yt video, movie, episode of a show etc cus that's when I lose focus but these are the ONLY videos that I can stay locked in.
I’m just gonna say: after all the videos of you reacting to people incorrectly removing second skin, I was worried removing it would be a lot more difficult than it was. But I did it in the shower and all that and it didn’t hurt at all to take it off.
The fake face tattoo: she has a face full of make up. They would have to clean her skin before the tattoo

Edit: Just saw the one on the ground, omg
I love the evolution of this comment and completely agree
There's 5 in total! And iirc from when I used to work there, they're all from build a bear!
I have an axolotl purse with an acrylic pin display in its tummy 😂
It almost looks like you have a floral lace turtle neck on under your shirt. I love this vibe
Omgg i tagged you in one of these vids, excited that you watched it and are ccovering it!!!
Currently with someone who has no interest in getting tattoos but fully supports each tattoo I get and helps me with ideas for them. He's a legend
29:05 I TAGGED YOU LAUREN! THANKYOUUUUU FOR REACTING TO IT ILYYY
As well my skin changes in shades a lot because I am mixed race so I am more olive in summer and in winter look lighter but still have a yellow tone
Idk I wonder if I would be a person who would have a yellow one instead of it going into a scar or staying somewhat white
No this is clearly not the case bc most tattoo artists look at non white folks and go "I can't do light colors on you, sorry"
to be completely honest, i usually peel my second skin stuff off dry. but to my defense, after the 24-48 hours my tattoo artist tells me to keep it on, it just comes off almost by itself. maybe i'm just oddly sweaty or greasy, but the stuff never hurts when i remove it, and it's never a struggle. it might also be that he's using a type of second skin that just doesn't stick as much.
i'm always confused when i see how hard people have to pull on it to get it off, mine just peels off like a gentle bandaid, leaves all my hair where it is.
Same here, my second skin comes off painless even when dry. I have to keep it on for a couple of days and it also almost comes off by itself.
It does sound like maybe your artist is using a different product
Lauren must have not seen the Michael Cera cera ve commercial 😂
So excited; just booked at a show yesterday, and now i get to settle in with my scented candle and tea and blankies.
YOUR NECKLACE?!?! Im in love
Your nails are looking fabulous as always! ❤❤❤
Tysm 🩷
Thank you for another fun videoooo! Btw, love the shirt! Its perfect for showing off that gorgeous blaclwork neck/arm sleeve!
"Don't be rawdogging taking off your Second Skin" ma'am when I tell you I needed a *minute* 😂😂😂
4:03 omg have you seen Roly’s content before on YT? this part reminded of him so much! He does piercing reactions and sometimes tattoos I think
I have yes!! I love roly!!
Taking second skin off a tattoo properly isn't comfortable and yet people insist on doing it wrong? I don't like it.
I have always gone by my middle name and love it when they have a preferred name section on forms.
Almost all of my tattoos are flowers or animals inspired by characters I like. That way if I ever change how I feel about those series for whatever reason, I'll still have reason to like the tattoos.
I got it!! You should do a chorus line of bbq sauce bottles!
My two artists have wrapped mine in cling film so I just followed suit
I do too! I've gotten second skin a few times but I don't think my tattoos heal as nice and sharp with it. My regular artist stopped using it anyway because two clients of his got an allergic reaction within a week.
I got a plastic wrap since it was too big and in an area that moves a lot (it's a half sleeve), but I've also had second skin where the tattoo was smaller
i have 9 professionally done tattoos, i've only gotten second skin for 2 of them
As a tattoo artist, I don't use second skin on my clients. So many people are sensitive/have allergic reactions to the adhesive that I prefer not to risk it.
Im so relieved for the young girl that that was a fake. She gave it away by using the make-up remover in the second video
Hm I feel like the tramp stamps are not a millennial tattoo. They def come from the era of "tribal" tattoos when millennials were still too young to get tattooed
Sternum tattoos (titty chandeliers)are the new tramp stamp
30:41 I want one of my first tattoos to be a tattoo based on the book "they both die at the end" it's my favourite book and also the book that got me back into reading so it's very special to me
Not this video releasing right now when i needed something to watch🖤right on time
Love how your shirt highlights your tattoos!😊
I have started intentionally only watching recent videos, because i enjoy being told to be cozy
My first two tattoos were spur of the moment tattoo. My first is a Keith Haring design and my second is yoshi holding an egg. Love them still.
The DR martens reference convinced me to never get my ankles tattooed ever. Breaking in Dr. M's is the worst pain ever🥲
Me who is allergic to saniderm... I'll take the cling wrap please! But even I know how to take it off
Have you had Carolina gold barbeque sauce? That's my absolute favorite, a great balance between sweet, smoky, and vinegary
That sounds like heaven!!! I need to find some !!
Love the bbq sauce side track moment! ❤
Yay I just got a new tattoo yesterday and you're back today? I stay winning
Great selection today. ❤😊
I've got my chest tattoo booked for next Tuesday i'm so excited for it. 7 months is too long to go between appointments 😅
I had a date recently that kind of anounced that he was all natural on the first date (almost bragging), which felt odd when I just showed my piercings, tattoo and obviously dyed hair and shared my future plans for more piercings and tattoos. Let's just say that there was no second date.
I wasn't playing when I told you to check out Shein 😅😅
My very first tattoo was around my ankle! Honestly I'm glad it was my first because after some of my others and knowing how much they hurt I think I would have wimped out!
treacle!! i got my first tattoo finally! a big blackwork 3/4 sleeve :) getting my next one soon too (knee!) … the dopamine is real
I'm with a guy without tattoos and I don't mind it. The thing that would disqualify a person is not loving pets. 😅 Tattoos are less important for me than my cats. But I get it! It just depends on your priorities I think, when it comes to hobbies etc.
I was delighted to see that in my latest tattoo appointment (2 days ago) i was asked for my pronouns on the consent form. :)
I was not expecting a janoskian appearance in one of these vids 😂 loved the daddy issue joke though hahaha
Not so much now 😂😂
Omg I'm so exciiited!! I missed youu ♥️
As you said Hello! My kitten Freddie Merclawy bounded in, tail up in greeting and doing a loud "Brrrrrr!" Up at the screen to you. Just thought youd like to know that!
Your kitten's name is amazing
Getting my first tattoo this Friday! I'm not going to lie I'm very nervous lmao 😅😅 As always, thank you for these videos. They always make me so happy!
lauren i’m asking about your clothes and jewelry so i feel annoying but where are the necklaces from!!!! obsesseddd 🖤
Waited to watch your video til dinner is done
I've been with my guy and I'm tattooed he is not and it never comes up cuz he appreciates me enjoying myself
When I recently took off some second skin (I'd forgotten how to take it off properly since it's been a while sine my last tattoo), it was the parts touching untattooed flesh that hurt and were stuck down, the tattooed parts were fine. Even so, next time, I'll do it the right way.
I feel like, at this point, people know how to remove Second Skin but like the content so they do it the wrong way anyway
There's no way I could be with someone who doesn't have tattoos they wouldn't understand my tattoo obsession in the slightest 🖤
I always come to ur channel to hype myself up for my next tattoo lol
love your perspective, you make me smile :)
Not sure why but usually I get bored half way through watching something like I can always tell when I'm at the half way point through a yt video, movie, episode of a show etc cus that's when I lose focus but these are the ONLY videos that I can stay locked in.
10:25 yeah, I'm pretty sure they have to wipe off your makeup both to stencil and to tattoo 😂
I’m just gonna say: after all the videos of you reacting to people incorrectly removing second skin, I was worried removing it would be a lot more difficult than it was. But I did it in the shower and all that and it didn’t hurt at all to take it off.
