The girl talking about the guy who tattooed her arm shouldn't have to defend herself so hard, it's easy for people to say; "you should have spoken up more! stand up for yourself!" BUT you're a female client, it's a male tattoo artist, you are new to this, they are 'the professional'. Girl are taught to be polite, to smile, to not be abrasive and later we are told not to anger men, not to upset them in any way for our personal safety. It becomes ingrained and it's really hard to stand up for yourself in unfamiliar situations like this, yes it WOULD have been better if she got out earlier but all this really shows is how far women go to not offend men. Don't shame women for 'not speaking up', not even if we're talking about tattoos or going to a doctor's office, the reason we don't speak up is because that is how we are raised to exist in our society.
I have a freehand back tattoo and before each session the artist would roughly outline where what was going to go and then had me look at it and approve it. Freehanding does not mean they can just go to town on your skin without your input.
To me, even if it is freehand, they should knoe exactly what you want, or if you've given free-reign, they should be asking questions. They should ask about the placement, the size, what details you want. Freehand can be a really useful tool, but they should still have designs for you to look at, pick at, etc.
as a trans person, yes I would love to know if a tattoo artist has been openly transphobic, I wouldn't want to walk into a shop and get treated badly because of who I am. It's silly to not name that artist.
Agreed. If someone is bad enough to be called out on social media they’re bad enough to be called out by name. Don’t go harass the person on their page, but definitely avoid em.
I completely agree with exposing this particular artist as it could come to a safety hazard but I think this tiktoker didn’t want to name the woman incase she tried to take legal action
IMO, henna is the best option for a temporary tattoo. It's easy to test out placements and ideas too. We do it traditionally on the hands for Indian weddings and I've been able to get super deep colour that lasts at least a month if I treat it properly. No fuss as long as you can tolerate the smell lol
Unless you're allergic like me 😆 went to an aunts wedding and we all had henna done (it was culturally approved and appropriate) and I ended up in hospital with an allergic reaction 🙃 it's a good job it's done a little while before the wedding lol I had enough time to get better and ended up with sh1tty temp tattoos of henna
my husband and I got "couple" tattoos this year (married 4 years, together for 7). We both got a tattoo of Pingu (penguin cartoon) since it's something we bonded over when we first got together and have inside jokes about. They're not identical, but just contain the same character and we both like the character independent of the relationship, so.
Jenna Karvunidis, who is credited with starting the gender reveal party trend has been vocal about how she regrets it! She said “assigning focus on gender at birth leaves out so much of their potential and talents that have nothing to do with what’s between their legs.”
@@PoptartParasol this is an older comment but some background, she did it because she had a lot of miscarriages and wanted to celebrate because she never got to the stage of learning the gender in her previous pregnancies.
@@PoptartParasol As the above comment said, that wasn’t what she was thinking about at the time. It was more of a celebration that her pregnancy had lasted long enough to determine gender. I definitely see why immediately focusing on gender is a problem, but like I said- she was just excited.
My last tattoo artist came prepared with three different sizes for my forearm piece. I really wanted the biggest one, but after looking at all of them against my arm, I agreed that the smallest would work the best. Kudos to him for being an awesome artist! And incredibly gentle around the elbow!
As a trans person, getting tattooed really helps my body self image/esteem. I already have… Thoughts about my body because its not quite what I want right now but getting tattoos helps me to love those parts of my body again. I don’t hate them, they’re just… not me. And adding tattoos to them is like reclaiming them and saying “no this is mine” which definitely helps.
I have body dismorphia (not trans just btw) but I totally get what you mean! When I get a new tattoo somewhere I feel like my body isn't me but the tattooed parts of me are and it feels like in the mirror I'm finally looking at myself again. Like it's finally the correct reflection of me looking back in the mirror little by little.
i think the best mindset to have is that if you have a tattoo for a band, movie, etc. and you don’t end up liking it as much as you used to; is that you did like it that much at some point in your life! and now you’re carrying that small part of your life where something made you so happy you wanted it on your body forever. you’ll always be carrying around that part of your younger self. i really love seeing it that way and i want a tattoo for some things i loved in the past for that reason.
My first tattoo was on my calf and I was twitching alot. After healing I messaged the tattoo artist that it was beautiful and I loved but I had notice a tiny area where she had coloured outside the lines. She was super apologetic. She remembers it happening when I twitched but didn't want to say anything as she thought it wasn't deep enough to stick around after healing. She covered it up with some extra detail.
I love how that person who lasered the eyelid was so gentle in their manorism. Like their client presents male but they were still so supportive of them and their emotions and I love that!
About tattoos and body image… I feel so much more like myself with my tattoos, I love them all and I like taking care of them, doing body scrubs, moisturizing and protect them regiously from the sun. It was a way to discover myself and my worth and to love myself a little more❤️ I don’t like when people are rude to others for their tattoos, you never know what they mean to them
I agree 💯 with this.. I started getting tattoos again after almost 20 yrs hiatus because of ppl giving me a hard time about my original tattoos.. the new ink makes me feel more genuine to myself and makes me love parts of my body that I used to be very insecure about.. and each new piece has a specific memory attached to them
@@anembroideredbird7442 I’m so glad you feel better! People can be very mean sometimes… I often have to hode my ink from my family and sometimes I will get the inappropriate comment like “you have too many tattoos, you can’t have a place in society with that many”. I’m sure your tattoos are great and at the end you feeling better about yourself is way more important than pleasing people who just judge a book by its cover❤️
Same, I only started getting tattoos last year so I don't have that many (was too young to get them before then) but they help me so much to feel comfortable in my body. It's like a way to take control of my body and help me reclaim the parts of myself I'm not particularly fond of
I started getting tattoos when it struck me that women with tattoos seem so much more comfortable in and accepting of their own bodies, of whatever shape or size, than naked skinned women. I've been eating disordered for 40 years, and my ink has positively affected my relationship with my imperfect body. 🙂
I definitely agree that everyone should be transparent when it comes to transphobic artists or unsafe environments. The artist she was making that video about however tried to get her account suspended when she warned people before so she avoids naming her now to protect herself.
Hell yes, 1 whole hour! Also as someone who has a hard time discovering tattoo artists, can you maybe give some tips on how to find them? Is it Instagram, google I really can never find good artists because I never know quite what I should call my tattoo style so it's hard to google for known styles (realism, black and grey etc.) Love the content!
Instagram has been my biggest place to find more artists personally! I found my current artist there through a promoted post that showed up on my feed but his style is exactly what I was looking for. Since following him, IG showed me more similar artists but some are farther away
@@starcharlie1880 Tracing outwards is always a good way to find people, since a good localised start and then two friends out can get you basically everywhere within an hour or so of where you are. This trick applies to more than just artists, by the way, but is especially effective for artists since they tend to only endorse those they appreciate/respect.
4:57 I love this. My legs involuntarily twitch when they are tattooed and the first two times I got leg tattoos I apologized. Until during my second one my artist and another artist assured me that I did not need to apologize. That a lot of people have this problem and that it is involuntary and not an issue or inconvenience for them(the artists). It made me feel so much calmer. I go to the same guy and I don't apologize for my involuntary twitching anymore.
Girl… you said something about not wanting to get tattooed by a shit person (during the tiktok reading reviews of a transphobic artist) Last year; around the same time as the Gabby Petito case, a woman went missing in my state (Vermont USA) and it came out that her husband (of only a year!) had killed her. I thought he looked familiar when I saw the articles so I did some digging… he was a local tattoo artist. He was SUPPOSED to do one of my pieces but I cancelled because of work, but he did my father in laws favorite tattoo and has done work on most of my friends. It’s unfortunate that he’s such a shit person because his work was honestly pretty good but being a good artist doesn’t excuse what he did.
Regarding the woman whose leafy minimalist arm tattoo was ruined by the artist: my artist freehands stuff on me in different colors of highlighter and it works really well for him. I don't know why they use highlighter but it seems legit. Otherwise, loving this movie length video! 😊
My best guess is that what she wanted was really outside his usual style (aka he just didn't want to do minimalist linework) and he just didn't want to admit that, so he did it his own way and just expected her to deal with it. Because the tattoo isn't that bad, from what I can tell. It's just a totally different style than what was asked for. Maybe he is just really inexperienced, but it definitely sounds like a case of 'don't tell me what to do'.
My guess would be that perhaps it's because of how different to any of the usual ink colours they might be using they are, and using different colours helps to keep track of different elements. Because otherwise they're just so chunky I wouldn't expect them to be too practical for line work. Perhaps next time you see them you might ask them "why highlighter?", it might spark an interesting conversation.
The only tattoo I’ve ever gotten without a stencil, my artist told me he wasn’t going to use one and asked my permission. He drew the art directly on my body (my leg up my hip) because he wanted it to go with the shape of my body.. then I was able to say yes I like it before he ever started tattooing. I felt good about it though because he explained what he was doing every step of the way and I ended up with a sick tattoo that still looks amazing over ten years later 😍
I thought I wanted my first tattoo way smaller than I ended up getting it, but my artist told me it wouldn’t look good any smaller and I trusted him, he was totally right. No reason not to be upfront about that. I want my artist to tell me if there’s a practical problem with doing it the way I want, I’m not the professional!
Ok, so I got my first two tattoos semi recently. I had planned the first one for a few months and it's super meaningful. The artist was super great and was super patient with me. 10/10 amazing. Less than a week later I text her and ask when she's available to do a second one for me. It was a design I came up with and she was able to do it within a few days. It was totally unplanned but I love it :)
I have watched every. Single. One. Of these videos. Along with all your other videos. And I absolutely LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!!! I had soooo much joy and excitement upon seeing that this video was an hour long!!! (Also, did you get a tattoo on your palm? I don’t think I’ve seen it before and it’s gorgeous!
My young adult (not a kid anymore) brought their tatto artist their favourite beverage for a session. Said they just wanted the artist to know they cared and appreciate them taking the time and making great work. Having some issues with social skills, my y.a. noticing what the artist prefered to drink and bringing that exact drink is a true badge of honor.
I’ve had 4 kids and I still don’t get gender reveals - I found out at the scans, would’ve been happy either way - when I left the hospital I told my family via text, got a “cool” text back - it wasn’t ever a huge deal
I think one part of it is the fun of guessing and the satisfaction of being right about the gender. Also, if you make bets with the other family members or friends about what gender the baby is. (Also, give you a good excuse to buy cake, chips, and other types of food that you feel like you need an excuse to eat)
Yeah, I'm not American, so a lot of these kinda things baffles me.. The baptism is usually the biggest deal here for babies, so that's sorta our "baby shower", which is also something that scares and confuses me.. How much shit do you need for a baby that's gonna grow out of all these clothes in a few months? My friend is having a baby soon and she baby showered herself (she's practically drowning in baby stuff she found in second-hand stores and Facebook), so I only get to buy stupid bullshit (which is exactly up my alley)..
@@Nightswarmer not American either, I had a baby shower once out of my 4 kids, but it was a surprise organised by my sister in law, it’s not something I’d really plan myself, I just don’t feel the need - it was nice, don’t get me wrong, it was a lovely afternoon, but not compulsory. I didn’t do any baptisms either since I’m not at all religious and figured doing it would just be an excuse for a party really, so I never bothered. I think thinks just go way over the top these days - fair enough wanting to celebrate and all that stuff, but the lengths people go to and the damage they can cause without a thought about anyone else is what baffles me
Another thing to consider when calling out homophobic/racist/transphobic artists, is people like me (poc gay trans man) needing to know who they are for our own safety. What if I show up not knowing how they feel and have to sit for a tattoo with someone who hates me or is disgusted by me? What if they make it more painful or screw it up or scar me just because they hate people like me? Absolutely call them out, not just so people can avoid them, but so people don't get *hurt*.
Yess one hour video, I love it!! Also yes, sometimes all you need is a spontaneous tattoo... or two. I had an appointment initially booked to August for my second tattoo, but now before of it I have had two spontaneous tattoos done :DD In eight months I have gone from no tattoos to four and honestly, living for it
Love your hair sweety xxxx My artist asked me what my fave snacks were during our email consults and design phase and bought me peanut butter cups to my 5.5h session. And a year later i had another tattoo and she had looked back/remembered and did it again. I will love her forever. And her work is incredible, my fave pieces.
The one just before 16:24 literally happened to my friend when she tried to get a tattoo that I designed for her. And the tattoo artist told her that the design was shit right in front of me. Made me hate tattoo artists in general for a good ten years lol (obviously I don’t feel that way anymore).
(To be clear, I don't condone tattoo copying at all, I think the artists that copy work without permission are fully in the wrong, this is just more a pondering I have) regarding the johnny gloom tattoo, when you said "why would you get a tattoo that's been done a thousand times?" it made me think about old-school traditional tattoos that get done repeatedly. Would there be a point when tattoos like this that got repeated so many times they basically become public domain?
I mean, flash is technically public domain tattoos. Like the stuff up on the walls in the shops that anybody can get. Also there's a local artist that's done the exact same lion and pocketwatch with a rose half sleeve on AT LEAST 8 people I know of. Literally copy and pasted. They all went to the same dude
I mean because it’s the same subject doesn’t mean it’s the same tattoos. Tons of artists do traditional and traditional subjects but they also come out differently. Ask 10 artists to draw a love heart you’ll have 10 different hearts. They are tons of tattoos of women hiding their eyes but they all have variations like hair/ no hair, entire face visible, more details in the hands. In the copies of Gloom’s tattoos they are always the same. Personally the only tattoos I think are public domains are flash (kinda), real life art pieces (like eg Starry night) and maybe pieces from pop culture like movies or video games. Even then you’ll have variations with each artist’s style.
Yesss I've been waiting for another episode, and amazingly its an hour long. Also I recently started watching you after my first tattoo, and I've learned a lot about tattoos so thank you. If you're wondering, its a tattoo of 2 dogs of mine who both passed away two years ago, they became 13 and 8 and was very close to them, since I've known them since I was 1 and 6 (I'm 16 now for anyone wondering, that's the legal age for tatoo's with parental consent in my country)
I haven't watched it yet but i was just flipping through your videos hoping you uploaded a new tiktok video AND HERE YOU ARE WITH A 1 HOUR VIDEO HOLY MOLY. I've just done my cover-up tattoo and now i wanna watch a lot of tattoo content hahah. Thank you so much!!!
this was an absolute treat! I really enjoyed the length! :) i don't know how others liked it, but i would watch hour long videos like this every day, if you could somehow mysteriously churn out that many :D
The botanical girl was scarred to hell too which is why it’s taking so many laser sessions too. Like the stem on the forearm still looks scarred in the videos.
I just wanted to say: I've been watching your videos for a long time now... I'm more of a silent viewer... but I love your videos and love the energy you radiate in every video. Every time I watch your videos I realize how much I celebrate your hair when it's ginger. it makes me want to have the same hair color too. I think it's great when you always have something new, but I think you can tell each other from woman to woman if you think something is nice. I love your hair and your styles and your content. Many greetings from Germany, love you so much. Keep it up. Mach weiter so. ❤❤❤❤
I got my first tattoo and it has a lot of meaning for me, both comically and seriously, and I wanted to plan a whole leg sleeve around it. My dad saw it (he didn't know I was getting it) and was more or less disappointed and honestly kind of horrified at me getting a sleeve. He said "skin doesn't look good forever. just look at my skin" and I had to hit him with a "oh yeah? what do you wash your face with?" His response was an embarrassing "water", him knowing full well I have like a 8 step skincare routine lmao
36:52 I had a similar situation happen to me. I am now stuck with an ugly tattoo. It was being added on to another tattoo that I had and I still love the original part that he did not do, but the part he added on was horrendous… So now I’m just stuck with a bad tattoo on my forearm!
Thank you so much for taking almost two hours out of your time to make this video. Very fun and entertaining. You always bring a nice warmth and comfort to all you videos.
I only recently came across your channel, and I've fallen in love. The videos are my go to while at work and doing art and I've been binging for the past two weeks. Thank you for all your hard work in providing us with quality content. I was so excited to see this hour long video!
i had an experience where i tipped a tattoo artist who didnt give me what i wanted, because i was a shy socially awkward person in a tattoo shop after dark with only the artist and myself. I got a tattoo as a birthday present for myself and it was a Dali design that i had wanted since i was a teen (at least ten years). The design is a yellow rose with butterfly wings for leaves and i told him i wanted all the same colors just brighter. i ended up with a peach colored rose and a stem that is so dark its almost black. Dont be afraid to be specific or stand up for what you really wanted!
Wow you figured out exactly how much footage you needed to get to the hour mark! Well done! Wonderful having such a long video to watch, long may the series reign ~
45:28 I accidentally got tatted by a racist. She also tatted my design on someone else which was her flash but was under the impression that it was one and done. Luckily, She was fired from her shop. Sucks bc it’s my fav tat and almost 2 years old and still looks fresh, saturated and beautiful. Sad.
I wanted my Vegvisir tattoo like 1.5 inches across originally and my artist was just like "lol absolutely not" so now they're a little over 3 inches across and are still clearly readable 5 years later and plenty of room left
It's a good idea to stay away from trends. Trends change. Come back around. Then are mercilessly mocked. The saturated blend on the pastel ghost 27:00 was INCREDIBLE
Back with a bang 😮 We’ve been waiting for this! Glad to hear you’re over the worst of it and hope you are doing well 🍀💚 Cuddling my big chonky newfie while watching this.
At first I thought the same with the Pinterest tattoos that a thousand people have, but then I remembered I love American Traditional and also have designs that a lot of people have. It's the ode to the classics. However, American traditional stuff can be altered enough to be different and it's honoring the tattoers that came before us. And they are way better than the generic black line work tattoos. So did I just argue with myself and come to a conclusion? Yes I did. Love the content!
The whole thing about "feeling yourself" with tattoos reminded me of this amazing book called "Ink". It's about an entire culture based around tattoos. 10/10, please read
The person with the full back tattoo of Twilight looks to be Gen X like I am, making them an adult when the series was published. To me, ContraPoints stunning four hour video essay vindicated the series as another in a long line of women's romance descried because it wasn't read as fantasy, vindicating fans like this. I'm not the right audience for it, but I can appreciate how someone like them might have gotten so much shit for a harmless passion, one they were willing to declare so publicly and permanently despite the public vitriol. To me this shows intense strength of character.
Bless! This is the first tattoo tiktok react since I got my last tattoo on Sunday! Thank you, Lauren, for giving me something to distract me from the itching! I'm settled in with my seltzer and aquaphor. May you be blest with all the best beverages, and may your ink always be pristine and pleasing!
I'm really excited for this 1 hour special. Instagram actually gave me an ad for a single needle tattoo kit and in the ad they promote tattooing yourself
Ahhhh an hour video I can’t wait! I just had a black/grey illustrative sunflower which was my first and took two hours and I’m booked in for a 4 hour session to get a death head moth soon and can’t wait! Your channel has taught me so much thank you!!
I’d just like to say, you are part of the reason I changed my career path toward wanting to open my own tattoo shop some day with my friend! I’m a very artistic and creative person with a family that pushed me toward a “in demand” career, so I picked computer science because I was somewhat interested in it. Long story short, I was very unhappy, and went to a business/entrepreneurship program. I’m so much happier, and so excited for the future! I’m currently working on building an apprenticeship portfolio, and will get tattoo certified when I’m closer to finishing it.
Ok but the 22:29 twilight/spn tattoo seems like it has more fandoms to it, there's the chess that gives me maze runner, there's a blade with runes to the side i don't know what it stand for, the red ribbon is definitely a reference to something, they're just all in the same style so they feel coherent while the spn one is so bold and different that it feels like it's out of place and stands out. I definitely think it's more than just two fandoms though. Maybe it's like,, buffy related? Cassandra Clare? I'm not sure
I’ve been watching these for a few months now, and I’ve been taking any advice from all of the videos I could get when trying to track down a shop and what to look for in an artist for my brother and I to get our first tattoos together. I’ve finally found one, and I’m going in this week to get my first tattoo as a memorial for my dad who passed away from a heart attack last month without warning. I drew both of ours because they involved tracing my dad’s handwriting and piecing together the words we each wanted from a notebook of random things from his job
I dont have many tattoos but i understand not feeling yourself without them. I feel more like myself with the tats i have. Im an artist and i love the expression and i love having art on my body. I need more!
IDing as non binary does not exempt you from being a woman-hater. liking femininity does not exempt you from being misogynistic. you can't identify into oppression!
@@PoptartParasol even if he was being sarcastic, it's such a red flag to have suffering women tattooed when you are not a woman, that question is completely valid. I also think he was using non-binary people as a joke. And even if they are actually non-binary, they are a male person who passes as a man in everyday life and has all the privileges associated with that, and choosing to tattoo women in pain all over themself is not something excused by non-binarity. As a non-binary woman I'm so sick of this kind of crap. We don't get to erase our oppression just by stating our pronouns, and non-binary male people don't get to pretend they erase their privileges by just stating their pronouns. Women, cis and trans, are fully aware of the difference between identifying with something and actually having to live life as something (specially trans women, because they transitioned so they know the difference).
@@yuris.3167 hey this is really transphobic as hell you should know better as a nonbinary person to be refering to them in that way. you do not know their struggle or identity, and for all you know, they could be a nonbinary fem like you. your behavior towards this trans person just because they are amab is very transmisogynistic.
I actually got a huge freehand tattoo from a local artist and it wasn’t what I had in mind exactly (I was picturing something smaller and more delicate) but my god the freehand was so gorgeous. The flowers and leaves and shading, it’s my absolute favorite part of my body and I do plan on going back to her. Sometimes freehand can really work and I’m so sad for the woman who got the freehand tattoo that it didn’t work at all. Like it was gorgeous but not what she wanted and she placed so much trust in him
Start getting this out there Treacle: if a tattooist makes a random mark somewhere, they can flush it with saline to remove the ink (using the saline as though it's ink), if they speak up immediately.
Just got my first tattoo last week, I was binge watching your videos before. So glad I did it and definitely want more now 😅, I got a squid from inner elbow down onto wrist, 4/10 pain wise. Love these videos 💖
It has been so hot here as well. Our air conditioner went out a few days ago, and it has been 87 degrees in the house today (30 ish C) and can't get fixed until Monday. I work from home and LOVE watching/listening to your videos while working. This will make the misery of the heat so much more bearable! Here's to many many more videos!
Thank you for making an hour long special episode! I love watching these because I am never on TikTok. 🤣 Also regarding the person with the very bright and colorful tattoo that looked new at 6 months - my oldest tattoo is 3 years old by now, just black lineart and the lines aren't as pretty as my other tattoos that are 3 years as well. My tattoos are still very very bright and most of the lineart still look thin and has spread very little! I suppose it all depends on placement, skin and if it's exposed to the sun, but I am very happy that all my tattoos still look wonderful after a few years and I still don't have to worry about getting a color retouch. 💖 PS: love your palm tattoo, btw! Not sure if I had the guts to get it done, but one day I will definitely get the back of my hands tattooed, once I have a bit more tattoos on my left arm. 😅
This video makes me even more excited for tomorrow! I’m having a graduation tattoo done since I now have a degree in Psychology!🎓 (Also, you look stunning x)
There is nothing about my body I don't hate but my tattoos give me something to look at on my body that I actually like and think of as beautiful. I don't like my arms but I love the snail tattoo for my giant african landsnails on my arm. Same goes for my other tattoos. My tattoos make it a lot easier to look at myself without crying. With every new tattoo it gets a little easier to live with my body. I can finally start living my life without worrying about how I look and I don't have to be sad about it all the time anymore. My tattoos significantly improve the quality of my life.I get way more confidence out of my tattoos than I could ever have imagined.
I feel so badly for the lady with the floral arm tattoo. Something very similar happened to me with a galaxy tattoo on my arm. The artist has a lovely portfolio and great reviews, and said he would need to free hand the work (it was partially a coverup in one area). I “trusted the process” as he promised it would improve. Sat through two sessions over 3.5 hours each with him and my arm is mangled. It’s now been 4 years and I’m getting it laser removed. Laser removal hurts badly. It’s expensive. It’s time consuming. It’s horrible. I can’t wait for the day that it is faded enough that I can get a proper cover up by an artist I trust.
Didn’t even realise the video was an hour long until you mentioned it haha, it was a nice surprise! Really enjoyed this one, congrats on 50 (!!!) episodes!
I loved seeing the artist say that they are ok with snacks while getting tattooed lol I’ve heard a lot of tattoo artists talk bad about people who want/need to snack while getting tattooed and I’m one of those people that if I don’t continuously consume sugar while getting tattooed I pass out. No idea why this happens but I’ve tried many times and no matter how big or small the tattoo I pass out after ten minutes. Only thing that keeps it from happening is eating gummy candy the entire time.
Funny seeing Alex on the Vice interview clips. He’s at True Tattoo in Kingston (our local) and did one of my husband’s tattoos. Really nice, clean shop with talented folks.
For ephemeral- say the letter F, then the letter M, then add ‘ural’- ‘eff-em-ural’ 🤗 thanks for the long video lovely, it’s great hanging out with you 💕
I started this video as a lil sumthin to watch before my tattoo appointment, and now than it's done, I'm getting back to the video! Thank you Lauren, for being the tattoo friend I dont have xD
@20:41, with your permission, I’d like to cut out all of what you said and send it to my brother in law. He’s been tattooing for over a decade now and he still hasn’t progressed in any way, yet he still tattoos people hands and faces, attempts (poorly executed) portraits and does deeply meaningful tattoos on people when he still can’t even draw on his own. He still has to steal images from the internet and trace them and he doesn’t see how any of what he does is wrong on so many levels. He also tattoos people in his bedroom, on his bed, with his blanket all crumpled up from where he slept the night before. I’ve literally walked in on him tattooing a chest piece on this girl and she was, pretty much topless, lying in his nasty, sweat filled, pillow while he hovered over her in a janky office chair. What gets me is that he’s worked in legitimate shops before and he did an apprenticeship for several years with a really good artist. He had hygiene and safety practices drilled into him and he still does shit like this. He’s also had 3 different girlfriends in the last year and he tattoos the exact same rose on their hands. Like his tattoos, everyone of those relationships is complete shit. He used to tattoo his ex wife a lot and when they got divorced, she spent a ton of (my mother in laws child support) money on getting them all covered. Now every single girl he’s dated, since his divorce, ends up with, at least, a half a dozen horrible tattoos, in incredibly visible spots and every single one of them got tattooed in the same bed that they get busy in, and likely finished within 10 minutes of starting the tattoo.
The smile that appeared on my face when this showed up in my sub box!!! 1 HOUR 🙌 Also, you're looking especially gorgeous in this video. SUPER jealous of those earrings. Much love + support from Arkansas USA ✨💕
This couldn’t have had better timing for me, I needed this and I literally gasped when I saw this video was an hour long! I’ve probably watched each episode 4 times.
Lmfao bro!!! That guy screwed himself by taking 11 hours and not even finishing. Imagine the time he would've spent if she went for another session -- easily another 6 hours. So we're talking a $700 tattoo over 16-19 hours. That's not terrible, $38/hr, but he really could've done less work giving her what she had asked for and also not completely screwed that poor woman... Lmao so wild, bro. Eight laser sessions and it still looks like that. I would have to quit as an artist if that was me lol js. Thank you for sharing, my friend. We do not deserve this hour special extravaganza but you always take care of us 😂😂 here's to fifty more, or maybe 200! Congrats on the huge milestone.
Freehand the stencil, not the ink, should be obvious but you know how people are
To me, even if it is freehand, they should knoe exactly what you want, or if you've given free-reign, they should be asking questions.
The transphobic tattoo artist name is Ariel DeJesus just type in 100 blindfold tattoo and her account pops out. I hope this helps anyone!
Agreed. If someone is bad enough to be called out on social media they’re bad enough to be called out by name. Don’t go harass the person on their page, but definitely avoid em.
I just said this in a comment of my own, but yes, exactly this. It's not just a moral issue; it's a safety issue.
Completely agree with this.
The smell really isn't that bad! I put some cinnamon in my hair henna and it smells fine to me.
Def try if henna gives an allergic reaction first tho. Lot's of people react to it & that would be a nightmare under the skin.
@Maddy Davidsdottir I'm allergic too smh, the entire back of my hand turned into a rash after I got henna
@@kiram.3619I don’t think they were suggesting using it like tattoo ink, so it wouldn’t go under the skin - it’s only meant to go on top
my husband and I got "couple" tattoos this year (married 4 years, together for 7). We both got a tattoo of Pingu (penguin cartoon) since it's something we bonded over when we first got together and have inside jokes about. They're not identical, but just contain the same character and we both like the character independent of the relationship, so.
PINGU TATTOOS 🥺!!! My heart. I would love a Pingu tattoo haha that's so funny.
this is the correct type of couple tattoo, so so cute and subtle but still personal!!
Noot noot!
Jenna Karvunidis, who is credited with starting the gender reveal party trend has been vocal about how she regrets it! She said “assigning focus on gender at birth leaves out so much of their potential and talents that have nothing to do with what’s between their legs.”
Wish she understood that before inventing it. I guess we live and learn?
iirc her child came out as either trans or non-binary. I can't imagine she ever expected them to get as ridiculous as they have, either.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 is that true? I heard she regretted the trend but didnt know their child was trans/ nb.
I definitely see why immediately focusing on gender is a problem, but like I said- she was just excited.
the intense joy of seeing this video was 1 hour long
Same!
ME TOO
My last tattoo artist came prepared with three different sizes for my forearm piece.
@tesadityousfirey8915 I 100% agree with this. Not trans, but I do get what both are saying in regards to body dysphoria
i think the best mindset to have is that if you have a tattoo for a band, movie, etc. and you don’t end up liking it as much as you used to; is that you did like it that much at some point in your life! and now you’re carrying that small part of your life where something made you so happy you wanted it on your body forever. you’ll always be carrying around that part of your younger self. i really love seeing it that way and i want a tattoo for some things i loved in the past for that reason.
It was a way to discover myself and my worth and to love myself a little more❤️
I don’t like when people are rude to others for their tattoos, you never know what they mean to them
I agree 💯 with this..
It's like a way to take control of my body and help me reclaim the parts of myself I'm not particularly fond of
Same here. It feels like reclaiming my body for myself
I’d say go on pages like Tattoo Snob on IG who posts varied tattoo styles by different artists!! Great way to find artists 😄
Instagram has been my biggest place to find more artists personally! I found my current artist there through a promoted post that showed up on my feed but his style is exactly what I was looking for. Since following him, IG showed me more similar artists but some are farther away
I look for artists in my area using Instagram and check local artists that they’re following :)
For me I went onto Instagram and searched my location tattoo to find artists
4:57 I love this. My legs involuntarily twitch when they are tattooed and the first two times I got leg tattoos I apologized. Until during my second one my artist and another artist assured me that I did not need to apologize. That a lot of people have this problem and that it is involuntary and not an issue or inconvenience for them(the artists). It made me feel so much calmer. I go to the same guy and I don't apologize for my involuntary twitching anymore.
My legs will twitch too!! They just keep shaking and twitching, so it makes me feel better that it’s not just me as well 😂
Girl… you said something about not wanting to get tattooed by a shit person (during the tiktok reading reviews of a transphobic artist)
Last year; around the same time as the Gabby Petito case, a woman went missing in my state (Vermont USA) and it came out that her husband (of only a year!) had killed her.
Her name is Emily Ferlazzo if anyone wants to read up on it. I refuse to speak his name because he’s worthless in my eyes🤷🏼♀️
Regarding the woman whose leafy minimalist arm tattoo was ruined by the artist: my artist freehands stuff on me in different colors of highlighter and it works really well for him. I don't know why they use highlighter but it seems legit.
Otherwise, loving this movie length video! 😊
Highlighter is probably just really visible. It’s used for, well, highlights and corrections. They also come in a lot of colours and can layer.
Episode 50 already?! Time flies when youre having fun. I hope you realise that people are here for your personality! Youre amazing!
I'm getting my first tattoo in six days, hoping I'll have as good as an experience as you!
@@NicrophorusVesp I hope you do too!
@@NicrophorusVesp did you do it?
@@that_one_idiot2799 yep, it went well! The artist was really friendly and I'm very pleased with the result!
Thanks my love!! Yes got it 3 weeks ago, I did make a video about it not too long ago 😄💖
@@treacletatts I’ll go check it out!! It looks sick! I bet that process was Kindof spicy to sit through
My young adult (not a kid anymore) brought their tatto artist their favourite beverage for a session. Said they just wanted the artist to know they cared and appreciate them taking the time and making great work. Having some issues with social skills, my y.a. noticing what the artist prefered to drink and bringing that exact drink is a true badge of honor.
I would have ZERO issue if you made all of your tattoo reaction videos an hour long lol this was so much fun!
I think thinks just go way over the top these days - fair enough wanting to celebrate and all that stuff, but the lengths people go to and the damage they can cause without a thought about anyone else is what baffles me
This hour long show has made my day. Love you Lauren!
That Tommy Shelby tattoo literally looks like Voldemort in a peaky cap
LOL!
It was done by a 17 year old with a tattoo artist father who's letting him work on people 😬
Yess one hour video, I love it!! Also yes, sometimes all you need is a spontaneous tattoo... or two. I had an appointment initially booked to August for my second tattoo, but now before of it I have had two spontaneous tattoos done :DD In eight months I have gone from no tattoos to four and honestly, living for it
Haha same! I see a flash, fall in love, and want it the same day1
Love your hair sweety xxxx
My artist asked me what my fave snacks were during our email consults and design phase and bought me peanut butter cups to my 5.5h session. And a year later i had another tattoo and she had looked back/remembered and did it again. I will love her forever. And her work is incredible, my fave pieces.
Everytime I see these absolute tattoo horror stories, I feel so lucky about the amazing artists I have put my trust in.
An hour long?? When I needed something to listen to while I meal prep?? Is this heaven? 😊
If you're wondering, its a tattoo of 2 dogs of mine who both passed away two years ago, they became 13 and 8 and was very close to them, since I've known them since I was 1 and 6
(I'm 16 now for anyone wondering, that's the legal age for tatoo's with parental consent in my country)
Oh I’m so sorry for your loss of your sweet puppers!! 💖

Oh my god an HOUR? Girl, you are treating us! Thank you! Perfect thing to watch on the ride home from my cousins.
I got my first tattoo and it has a lot of meaning for me, both comically and seriously, and I wanted to plan a whole leg sleeve around it. My dad saw it (he didn't know I was getting it) and was more or less disappointed and honestly kind of horrified at me getting a sleeve. He said "skin doesn't look good forever. just look at my skin" and I had to hit him with a "oh yeah? what do you wash your face with?" His response was an embarrassing "water", him knowing full well I have like a 8 step skincare routine lmao
the “teEm eDworD” one made me cry, I want a T-shirt with this too
36:52 I had a similar situation happen to me.
I absolutely love the 'get comfortable, get a snack, get your pets' intro. Your videos are so cosy and highly entertaining!
Back with a bang 😮
We’ve been waiting for this!
Glad to hear you’re over the worst of it and hope you are doing well 🍀💚
Cuddling my big chonky newfie while watching this.
One hour oh my gosh this is a blessing

I'm not sure
the ribbon and chess set are from the covers of the other twilight books! and I think the knife is from supernatural as well but I could be wrong
Yep. Lots of effeminate gay men are hugely misogynistic.
Wasn't he being sarcastic or am I wrong?
Kinda weird that they hate women if that's the case...
THANK YOU. Was looking for this comment. Lol
Just started watching you and stumbled across this video. I just have to say you can pull off ANY hair color, omg! Absolutely gorgeous 🫶🏼
Thank you 🥹🧡
This is honestly my favorite video series on TH-cam!! An hour long?! Miss girl I’m HERE for this! 😂👏❤️
Just got my first tattoo last week, I was binge watching your videos before. So glad I did it and definitely want more now 😅, I got a squid from inner elbow down onto wrist, 4/10 pain wise. Love these videos 💖
So so happy tht this video is 1 hr.thank u so much
It has been so hot here as well.
PS: love your palm tattoo, btw! Not sure if I had the guts to get it done, but one day I will definitely get the back of my hands tattooed, once I have a bit more tattoos on my left arm. 😅
I love the "you don't need to apologize for..." video was fantastic!
This video makes me even more excited for tomorrow! I’m having a graduation tattoo done since I now have a degree in Psychology!🎓
(Also, you look stunning x)
Ahhhh congrats!!! So proud of you 💖

💖💖💖
One hour special!! What a treat!!
Also ive seen u go thru about 100 diferrent hair colours and this is by far my fave! Looks so good!! 🧡
1 hour episode?! Made my week, thank you!
For ephemeral- say the letter F, then the letter M, then add ‘ural’- ‘eff-em-ural’ 🤗 thanks for the long video lovely, it’s great hanging out with you 💕
girl this didnt even feel like an hour youre just a vibe
I started this video as a lil sumthin to watch before my tattoo appointment, and now than it's done, I'm getting back to the video! Thank you Lauren, for being the tattoo friend I dont have xD
I WAS READY TO GO TO SLEEP BUT SLEEPING IS NOT AN OPTION TODAY🤩
thank u 4 video🥺🖤
I love the little yoda head in the background
I’ve probably watched each episode 4 times.
this was so fun, i liked that it was an hour long special, it was honestly very chill and nice hanging out for this long
Lmfao bro!!!
I missed these! And then I see its an hour long? you spoil us!
