What's crazy is during WWII they used to "allegedly" skin people and use their tattooed skin to make furniture out of. I knew someone who's grandparent had a really weird looking lampshade and their father took it to get looked at and when they came home they didn't bring it back and refused to talk about it. The only part that isn't alleged is the fact they did actually skin the tattoos off the dead and preserve them to present to people

Oh my god the girls tattooing in the classroom one just reminded me of my first year of high school where someone pierced a kid’s lip in our English class, so the teacher had the science teacher come in to talk about all the types of infections and diseases they could get, including a graphic description of lock jaw. They also said they “sanitized it with hand sanitizer first”. I also walked in on two girls in the bathroom during gym piercing eachother’s faces with a sewing needle at the sinks too so. Super common apparently lmao
I use to be friends with this girl who back in highschool tattooed her knuckles. It either had a swear word or numerical numbers on them, anyways it was ugly and janky looking. She ended up SCRUBBING it off a day later. A whole ass layer of skin gone, and she didn't think it was a big deal. Girl is lucky not to have gotten an infection.

Every tattoo artist at the shop near me says to wash your tattoo at least twice a day (preferably three times, in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night) with gold dial, and then spread a layer of Aquaphor on top of it to keep it from scabbing over or getting crusty since it’s much easier for a tattoo to heal incorrectly is its super scabby. I followed their instructions and my tattoo healed up great (other than one tiny part of it, but that’s mainly because my skin is super finicky and sensitive.) Lauren looked awesome in the Halara sparkly leggings, which I'd have thought would be harder to pull off, but she rocked them. Like most talking head youtubers, I didn't even know she had legs.
beeing addicted to watching ink master led me to my love for tattoos... get my first tatt.. and now becoming a tattoo artist its so fun to look back at this show and how much was wrong with it but i just have to laugh so much because of it... i love it
This video couldn't have been timed better, love this series! Finally got my first tattoo recently too so I feel like an official member of the tattoo community now lol, can't wait to get my next one.
I’m a nurse who doesn’t like being poked with needles. However, I do a some small tattoos and I do agree that the tattoos were less scary. I worked in an immunization clinic for a few years and my favorite patients were people who hate getting poked because I understand them and I want to make it the best experience possible. I really hate judgey medical professionals. It makes us all look bad.
Are you an angel or something? 😩 If only I could have you as the person who gives me shots or draws my blood! I had an absolutely horrific experience the last time I got my blood drawn (I have to get it drawn once a year because I take a lot of medications for my mental health.) They let a student in training poke at my veins for like 5 minutes while I was on the verge of TEARS because I was so anxious. Waiting 5 minutes for a student to just find my vein when it was RIGHT THERE made my anxiety so much worse and I did end up crying from it (the student even said that she could feel my vein but kept poking at my arm anyways.) My mom ended up telling the person training the student to just take over because it was ridiculous that they were making me cry and causing me to have a panic attack and they didn’t seem to care. I know this may sound silly but it genuinely traumatized me and made my fear of needles MUCH worse than it already was. I literally left the clinic still crying because of what happened, and I’m absolutely terrified to go back there because it’s almost time for me to get my blood drawn again (I get it done in January every year.)
Omg. I never look up sponsors but I’m sooooo glad you pointed us towards Halara. I’m blown away. My basket is so so full of gorgeous, inexpensive, elegant basic pieces. I think I’m going to shop there forever. Lauren, you look smashing in all of the clothes that you modelled, but those blue/grey smart trousers are especially stunning on you.
The thing with medical needles is they are going under the skin into a vein and extracting blood. Sometimes nurses struggle to find the vein and it gets moved around; I even have very clear definition veins and not very much body fat on my arms. They always comment on my tattoos and needles. Drawing blood also decreases blood pressure and heartrate. Getting tattooed does not.
I think what makes medical needles worse is that tattoo needles are usually multiple needles at once hitting different places close to eachother so the pain spreads while with medical needles it's a singular needle pressing down a single point making it harder to go in since it's manually done unlike a tattoo machine doing is both in multiple parts and in quick succession
Also tattoo needles will only go (so long as the tattoo artist knows what they’re doing and isn’t heavy handed) 1-2 millimeters while a medical needle will go like 1-1.5 inches into your veins (25-38 millimeters)
I have no issue with needles but personally a tattoo is a tolerable pain but an IV is a different kind of pain. Like they stab it in and wiggle it around and you can feel it hitting everything and it sends pain throughout your arm from the inside and it's awful
please make a video about tattoos over scars and stretchmarks, also tattoo artist recommendations theres so little information ive found and i think itll help alot of people thank u either way!
I dnt even really care about tattoos tbh but I found one of ur videos and I stayed bc of your vibes. U got those vibes like we'd be besties in another life where we lived near each other and were friends lol. Friendly girl at the bar who tells you your strap is messed up and fixes it for you energy.
The GenX meme is that no one ever remembers GenX. 😂 I am getting my first tattoo in about 10 days, and hope it goes well since I have ideas for more. No need to worry about how it will look when I’m 50, since I’m already older than that.
Makeup Artist here! If for whatever reason you would want/ need to cover your tattoos for a wedding or any occasion, check out alcohol paints by skin illustrator. Don’t quote me but I’m 99% sure they even have a tattoo cover/ color correction kit! Alcohol makeup doesn’t come off except with 99% isopropyl alcohol (similar to the ink box tattoos) so it won’t transfer onto your clothes and you can wear it for several days if you wanted/ needed to.
4:56 if anyone gets grossed out with getting needles and stuff by a doctor i highly recommend closing ur eyes and telling the doctor to not tell you when it’s gonna happen or tell you right before. i find it’s easier to get it if i can’t see it and it’s helped me a lot since i have chronic pain and sum other stuff so i have to get my blood tested every few months. this might not work for everyone but it’s something worth trying!
Absolutely this! I have an irrational fear of needles and I find this to really help. I also tell the doctor/ nurse that I can pass out so they can bring me a cold pack or some ammonia to keep me from passing out.
I 100% agree about medical needles and veins. The feeling is so much different. I had tons of injections when i was little, never had problem looking. But i always had this feeling that something may go wrong.
Just found your channel a few days ago, and I've been binge watching! I love the great mixture of educational and light-hearted content. I have 3 tattoos currently, I'm going to get my 4th one in April with my oldest child (for their 18th birthday). I know I'll be taking a lot of tips and inspiration from your videos
The forgotten generation, indeed! Also, GenX definitely don't like our families enough to tattoo them on us, and we know what a family tree is because we had to make them in school.
Talking about getting rid of tattoos for a wedding seems ridiculous to me. My daughter looked absolutely gorgeous with her tattoos showing in her wedding dress! I know, I'm bias, but I've seen other brides showing multiple huge tattoos on their wedding day and they always look beautiful!
As well as your obvious tattoo content Lauren, it’s the person that you are that makes your content the best and that you’re real, you’ve always stood for what is right whether it’s lgbtq+ matters, women’s rights in the tattoo community, BLM and your recent content regarding Palestine on IG. It’s admirable that you stand up for what is right whether it pleases or offends people whereas some content creators just stay quiet on such world matters and idk it just seems like they’re not authentic. Keep doing you, sending love 🙏🏽
I covered one of my visible tattoos for my brothers wedding. I was a bridesmaid and I didn’t want all her pictures I’m in to have my sons handprint and name on the front of my shoulder. She never asked me to. By the end the makeup had worn away but in photos you can’t even tell there’s a tattoo.
I got my first tattoo this year. I made sure to do A LOT of research and asked a lot of people who I know (who have tattoos) for advice. Like after care. I made sure to keep my tattoo clean and moisturized four times a day for the first month
I knit and crochet - but I have never been able to do it at a tattoo appointment. Only while waiting. But I found a phone game called "Water sort" and I love it for tattoos. Because it's litterally just sorting colors into bottles to fill the bottle. So you don't have to focus or think - but it takes away the attention from the pain
I have sat for hundreds of hours of tattooing at this point (with sessions of over 10 hours at a time included), and I love piercings, but as soon as I’m seated to get pierced or medically poked I’m ready to faint immediately.
The yarn is pretty far from the tattoo but I would never dare to take yarn into a tattoo studio besides maybe if I had to wait for someone up front. Too many fibers. Edit: Crochet is absolutely mindless though. You wouldn't take something super complex.
i'd totally crochet while getting a tattoo and planning on doing so for my next one if the artist agrees lol, helps me personally with being distracted from pain
@@paadoxalI think the only reason I’d say no to a client crocheting while tattooing is where their tattoo will be. I would only say yes if the tattoo is anywhere on the legs. Upper body and especially arms it’d be too much movement
@@paadoxal lower stomach might be fine. Maybe too much movement if you’re on your back, pulling for more yarn, crocheting too fast may shake you a bit. I think if it’s something you’re laying on your side for it would be as much movement as using your phone for entertainment which isn’t a lot of movement (usually)
@@_bewitchedbyyazIt depends on how the person crochets. If I were laying on my side and crocheting, I would absolutely move too much. But I know one person who crochets by only moving their hands and they’re very steady. Majority of people I’ve seen move their arms and their torso shakes.
lol got a 5 hour shin tattoo i opted to skip shading (tattoo is perf just linework) so he went back in adding detail, when he went to my ankle to add a line and my foot involuntarily twitched 🤣🤣🤣 he gave me the dirtiest look omg. (i started laughing) but thankfully it was just a microscopic dot on my whole piece lol

My bf has two biomech tattoos and it really really matters what artist you choose! His first one is more cartoony and it’s ok I guess but the second one is realism and HOLY MOLY it’s soooo cool to look at
Why would you remove tattoos for ONE DAY?! That's so wild to me.. I did the opposite. I had one tattoo completely fixed so it wouldn't look like shit in my dress lol. Also, okay legs!! Get it Lauren!! 🔥
That clothing company actually rips off designs from smaller brands. That first skirt specifically is from the brand Forest Ink which is a great small alt clothing brand!
Thank you!! I ordered halaras one in haste then read another comment here saying they were unethical etc ...I cancelled the order and I'm gonna look up where u said, thank you so much!!😘🌹
Thank you so much for bringing this to light! This is so wrong and I'm sure Lauren wouldn't have halara sponsoring her if she knew. The proper one from Forest Ink is identical. It's available on attitude clothing website. It's £50 compared to halara's £30 and I'm gonna pay it. P.s. I got refunded by halara straight away, checked my PayPal so I'm grateful that was straight forward...thanks again👍🏻
Lauren I’m watching this drinking tea, while my kitty sleeps on my lap 🥰 I opened TH-cam to keep me busy so I can sit and snuggle her for a while longer :)
I just recently got my first tattoo (yay me) and I'm very sensitive to needles, like my blood pressure crashes when I get blood work done. What I think makes it different (why tattoo needles aren't as bad) is that they don't go completely through the skin and just that it feels completely different. For me I feel everything when they put a needle in me, the little pop feeling when it goes through the skin to it moving around with the slightest of movement. Getting tattood felt more like a burn or a scrape, it's not as intrusive to the body.
Wow I love the clothing styles at the start! You dress really well to show the tattoos, and the skirt which is split really looks amazing with the leg tattoos!
omg the "oops" one. i have a leg sleeve and around my ankle, and around my knee, i got really bad twitches. i apologized a lot, and my artist was fine, but there was really no way to stop them. i think it was whenever he went near a nerve or something (like when you hit the right under your kneecap and your leg kicks out in reflex) i took some extra magnesium tablets before my appointments, and i think they helped a bit, but i'm really sensitive to getting spasms while getting tattooed
Totally agree with you about the medical needles. I can not even watch when I'm getting a shot and getting blood drawn is an absolute horror but I'm completely fine with getting tattoos. It's just so different!
I 1000% agree with your take on medical needles vs tattoo needles. You nailed it. I hate the idea of my meat and blood being messed with lol it's disgusting but tattooing is only ever skin deep!
I had someone drawing my blood that was scared of needles themselves, afraid she was gonna be scared of getting a tattoo and that she turned out fine. She told me it’s apparently completely normal to be scared of needles but be ok with tattoos 😊
10:05 ª :D. this honestly made my day, I hadn't laughed in a while. just wanted to say you are absolutely radiant when you laugh and you have an amazing ability to spread joy (ps. your hair looks stunning on you as well)
That’s actually so interesting! I wonder if Testosterone changes your chemistry in some way of if you had an overall reduction in anxiety because you are now living closer to/ in your identity. (Not trying to assume anything about your personal situation!)
I also fully believe the stick n poke in class story….because I was that girl. When a boy I had dated died, I tatted “RIP” on my wrist during math class…
Lol for the 'toodle pip' 😂 Never fails to raise a smile. Regarding calf tattoos... yes, fucking ouch. Like you I didn't think it'd be too bad and got a bit of a shock once the tattoo started. Not sure what's worse, the bit heading to the knee ditch, the bit heading down to the Achilles or the edges! Didn't stop me getting both calves done though 😂 It's worth it for the art. It's worth it for the art. It's worth it for art 😭
I've got plenty of tattoos and i've had a TON of IVs and blood draws due to being in the ER at least 6 times a year and I think the issue with medical needles is they actually go deep into your skin and not just the first few layers. Not only that but they have a different kind of hurt especially if you have deep veins that are hard to get or you're dehydrated. They can miss the vein and wiggle the needle around trying to find it and there's even a chance they get the vein but it's right on a valve so it doesn't work and they have to pull and push it around more. Also just because the needle goes into the skin and into the vein doesn't mean it won't collapse the vein or give blood so then you get poked more. I have no issue with medical needles but I get it
I have 2 arm/wrist tattoos as well as a rib, collarbone, sternum/stomach, back/spine, and behind the ear tattoo… and let me tell you, NOTHING prepared me for how PAINFUL the back of my calf was. 1 line into it and I wanted to quit! I could barely get through the outline before I taped out.. turned a full day session into 2, had finish another day with numbing cream.
My go to artist tattooed a ram skull on their own chest. Honestly it looks amazing. That's a big part of why I trusted them to do my tattoos lol. Like. If you can do work that good with a mirror on yourself, tattooing me should be cake. And yeah. They've given me several solid tattoos.
I had a friend in art school who bought a tattoo gun and did the most beautiful floral tattoo on her thigh. I was pretty impressed by how perfect it looked. She was a particularly gifted artist though!
Beautiful isn't it? It's originally from a company called forest ink. Halara robbed the design. Like robbing a tattoo design and calling it ur own kind of thing. I have mentioned this is many comments on the video hoping Lauren will see because I'm sure she wouldn't have agreed to this sponsorship knowing what thieves they are.
I'm only at 2:40 in the middle of the ad, but the "I've never been much of a miniskirt kind of person HUEHEHEY!" made me laugh so, so hard. That's literally me lmao. Also I haven't watched the whole thing yet obviously but I always like your videos so I'm confident it'll be the same with this one.
Met a woman in mylocal tat shop who had the knockers from labyrinth on her knees me like a weirdo " nice knockers" kid you not she grabbed her chest n said girl I know, I about passed my pants laughing I swear in any other setting
Hi! I've worked at a hospital drawing blood (was a lab assistant and helped out with the blood when needed - tiny tiny town) and I have tattoos... it's actually super super common to be afraid of needles in general, big burly men, tattooed people, children - it's normal. But when you are getting tattoos, you are not watching a HUGE needle being JAMMED into your veins, fillings vials with your blood. It's just NOT the same! Also, talking about your cold dead heart after you said a few mintues earlier that your bedtime routine is showing your bf all the tik toks you saw that day ❤😂 That's just the cutest thing ever, you are so sweet and cute 😂❤
I unexpectedly got in with a tattoo artist very fast because she was really excited about the project and wanted to do it ASAP but I feel like I haven't mentally recovered from how painful my last calf tattoo was so I'm probably going to be like I'm sorry it's my first time meeting you but I'm going to watch Bob's Burgers the whole time to not die on your table.
That video of the woman who got yeehaw tattooed on her on her hen do showing her fiance and them both being in fits of giggles and her being like isn't that so cool and him being like i fucking love you was the absolute BEST thing

Agreed. My mother was an addict and seeing the marks on my veins triggers me but I'm heavily tattooed. Totally different experiences.
Lauren looked awesome in the Halara sparkly leggings, which I'd have thought would be harder to pull off, but she rocked them. Like most talking head youtubers, I didn't even know she had legs.
beeing addicted to watching ink master led me to my love for tattoos... get my first tatt.. and now becoming a tattoo artist
its so fun to look back at this show and how much was wrong with it but i just have to laugh so much because of it... i love it
I need more Lauren fashion shows! Was LIVING FOR THIS. Didn't know I needed this in my life but here we are.
This video couldn't have been timed better, love this series! Finally got my first tattoo recently too so I feel like an official member of the tattoo community now lol, can't wait to get my next one.
Welcome to the family ❤
Congrats!
@@cassidybrewer thank you ❤️
@@ashtraylol thanks!
Yay welcome to the community :D
the possum’s tail wraps all the way around to the top of her ear that’s so cute 🥹
And it's a to z
I’m a nurse who doesn’t like being poked with needles. However, I do a some small tattoos and I do agree that the tattoos were less scary. I worked in an immunization clinic for a few years and my favorite patients were people who hate getting poked because I understand them and I want to make it the best experience possible. I really hate judgey medical professionals. It makes us all look bad.
Are you an angel or something? 😩 If only I could have you as the person who gives me shots or draws my blood! I had an absolutely horrific experience the last time I got my blood drawn (I have to get it drawn once a year because I take a lot of medications for my mental health.)
They let a student in training poke at my veins for like 5 minutes while I was on the verge of TEARS because I was so anxious.
I completely agree, I have been giving shots and drawing blood for 14 year.
Just wanna say your hair looks amazing & it really suits you!
Thank you 🫶🏻
Hello my darlings! So excited to be part of the bell crew and catch this upload immediately!
🥳🫶🏻
7:50 there’s something about classic/traditional styled lace wedding dresses with tattoos peaking through that is so cool
Absolutely perfect timing, honestly! Currently finishing off my (first) arm sleeve, and I definitely love watching Lauren during my tattoo sessions!
please make a video about tattoos over scars and stretchmarks, also tattoo artist recommendations theres so little information ive found and i think itll help alot of people thank u either way!
The way you do the opossum "Ahh" is so cute!
My face when Lauren forgets Generation X, my generation, also known as "The Forgotten Generation." 😑🤦♂️
LOL sorry Josh!!!
@@treacletattsI may never forgi . . . ah, it's cool. 😉😂
😂
The forgotten generation, indeed! Also, GenX definitely don't like our families enough to tattoo them on us, and we know what a family tree is because we had to make them in school.
It could be worse, nobody even says “silent generation” anymore and there’s so many still alive. The baby boom didn’t last 40 years 😂
Talking about getting rid of tattoos for a wedding seems ridiculous to me.
You look so amazing modeling those clothes! Your leg tats are lovely. Thank you for the wonderful content. 🌹
Thank you so much my love 🫶🏻
Getting my third tattoo soon (a little cactus with a couple of friends) and I'm binging these videos to hype myself up for the day!!
I'm sorry I'm stupid please forgive me, but are you and your friends getting tattoos or are you getting a few cacti so the one cactus has friends
My poor tattoo artist has to listen to me talking for the duration of our appointment. 😅😂 I love her so much!
I have sat for hundreds of hours of tattooing at this point (with sessions of over 10 hours at a time included), and I love piercings, but as soon as I’m seated to get pierced or medically poked I’m ready to faint immediately.
my artist always gave me some moisturizer they recommended after my tattoos and gave out written instructions about after care.
@@_bewitchedbyyaz i wanna get something on my lower stomach next, i'll bring the crochet things with me but we'll see how much trouble it is:)
22:10 Aaaabsolutely NOOOOTTRT
22:20 You’re touching some random man’s foot… I don’t even touch Tom’s foot!
22:30 This is like taking home a stray. A stray cat. Well, a stray cat is nicer than a random man.
This is made to be a short on your channel my friend 😂 I died and I watched it like 6 times 🐈⬛🙀
oh my god lauren you’re giving morticia 😍😍😍
Oh my god I'm so happy you're back I really really missed you like I love this series❤❤
You're my comfort millennial Lauren as you're relatively grounded in relaity and very funny 😁❤️
Thanks for keeping me company during my break at work… I really needed this today :)
14:54 I just love the perfect timing of
"OOOOH!!"
"Y-yeah."
Those behind the ear tattoos are GOLD! Now I want...😊
omg the "oops" one.
i have a leg sleeve and around my ankle, and around my knee, i got really bad twitches. i apologized a lot, and my artist was fine, but there was really no way to stop them.
i think it was whenever he went near a nerve or something (like when you hit the right under your kneecap and your leg kicks out in reflex) i took some extra magnesium tablets before my appointments, and i think they helped a bit, but i'm really sensitive to getting spasms while getting tattooed
asking your artist to put a pillow under your knee can really help! the more relaxed your leg is, the less you’ll twitch/spasm 💕
Totally agree with you about the medical needles. I can not even watch when I'm getting a shot and getting blood drawn is an absolute horror but I'm completely fine with getting tattoos. It's just so different!
Your modelling of the clothes is on point 🙌🏻 you go girl
I 1000% agree with your take on medical needles vs tattoo needles. You nailed it. I hate the idea of my meat and blood being messed with lol it's disgusting but tattooing is only ever skin deep!
I don’t have tattoos but I am afraid of needles and I think you are right
I had someone drawing my blood that was scared of needles themselves, afraid she was gonna be scared of getting a tattoo and that she turned out fine. She told me it’s apparently completely normal to be scared of needles but be ok with tattoos 😊
The outfits look perfect on you 😍😍
6:36 wilko is coming back to cities like exeter and plymouth i believe, seen some job ads around for it
Halara better offer you more for the next sponsorship bc I’ve never considered buying anything from them until you convinced me
i've never caught a video so early :) i'm excited these are my favorite
10:05 ª :D. this honestly made my day, I hadn't laughed in a while. just wanted to say you are absolutely radiant when you laugh and you have an amazing ability to spread joy (ps. your hair looks stunning on you as well)
Since I started doing my testosterone shots (8 months now) my needle phobia is gone :)
Congratulations I hope your journey goes well and that you are taking care of yourself
That’s actually so interesting! I wonder if Testosterone changes your chemistry in some way of if you had an overall reduction in anxiety because you are now living closer to/ in your identity. (Not trying to assume anything about your personal situation!)
I want to be you
I also fully believe the stick n poke in class story….because I was that girl. When a boy I had dated died, I tatted “RIP” on my wrist during math class…
That chest/face piece is amazing, love it!!
I thought that lemon juice was the most recommended aftercare
🤣 salt scrub anyone?
Halara clothes look amazing, that perfect combination of comfort and quality!
I have no issue with medical needles but I get it
Ahhh! those skirts look so good with the exposed tattoos, we need more model Lauren
I have anaemia, so I have to get my blood drawn every sixth months or so, but I’m still terrified of those medical needles dude
All these clothes are so stinking cute on you!
Treacle, you're so gorgeous! I love all your videos so much and the little fashion show at the sponsor was too cute.
Oh wow. The tattoo artist booked for the wedding is cute. Get a cute little dainty tattoo, for the memory, that's so sweet.
The couple in the YEEHAW video are GOALS 🤠
1:19 It looks THAT good on you AND IT HAS BUILT IN SHORTS????????! 🖤😭🖤
Also as someone who was bullied and called ugly for my freckles. These trash freckle tattoos are gold.
On the biomech tattoos topic I have been seeing it a lot more again and I think it’s great when done well excited to see more
I'm only at 2:40 in the middle of the ad, but the "I've never been much of a miniskirt kind of person HUEHEHEY!" made me laugh so, so hard. That's literally me lmao.
Also I haven't watched the whole thing yet obviously but I always like your videos so I'm confident it'll be the same with this one.
"My tattoos were more planned than your children were." I'm using this one, disrespectfully.
I'm used as a test subject at my local ER for new nurses to draw blood because I'm so calm!
Kaloozas' best advice that he ever gave me was if it's a kitchen studio or has carpet run like a track star.
More skirts need imbedded skirts!! you looked slay queen. The thanksgiving person looked AWESOME
Im obsessed with the little giggle while showing off the shorts under the metallic skirt 💖💖💖 im obsessed with your videos!!! Thanks for keeping me company at work and reminding me to be cozy 💖
Perfect video to watch before having to go in for work! I’ll for sure be in a good mood when on the clock. 🖤
The leg tattoos are so pretty
Yooo thanks for promo-ing Halara they have this type of short/skirt combo that's diff than a skort that I love but the fabric looks nicer than the one I have that pilled like instantly. Buying instantly and giving it a try.
