Hey there!! I am a nurse and worked in an allergy office. It sounds like he has something called oral allergy syndrome. This happens due to cross reacting allergens found in both pollen and raw fruits and vegetables. The proteins in the raw fruits and vegetables are similar to the pollen and reacts to it. It sounds like so he may feel itchiness, tingling, fullness. Banana and ragweed pollen are commonly associated. It may be a good idea for him to talk with his doctor and perhaps see an allergist.
