2016 - Had around 20k miles at the time. Luckily the nice folks at Mazda replaced it free or charge despite the fact that it happened at the track and I was using an aftermarket clutch!
@@zblazek2 Zero reason to buy a 2016. Mazda has made rolling changes and are currently on revision 4 that showed up around 2018 before the ND2 debuted in 2019. I'd get a late production 2017 at the very minimum. Makes no sense going into a known problem car.
@@opmike343 well if it's the only one problem peoples' considering, then the price difference between 2016 and ~2018+ is sometimes almost double in my country and covers more than gearbox replacement. I also don't need to adjust my steering wheel more. But up to some point yeah I can agree, what I miss in my 2016 is side window roll-up from keys which has been added later in production. Still, there's a plenty of fun with ~60% of the price. Do you have a list of other changes?
my 2017 just blew it’s been 2 weeks and 2 different completion dates. I’m waiting today to go up and speak to some people on what it is going on.
Hopefully you get your car back soon!
what year and how many kilometars/miles?

@@DC-uc4ji probably cuz those mx5s trans were known to have an defect.
ouch..
I think Toyota FRS transmission is better than Mazda MX5.
Your car is tired of the clutch abuse and is telling you to learn to heel-toe downshift. Yeesh.
Haha my lack of driving ability probably didn't help :)
Same happened to me.. crap car
That sucks :(. Mazda replaced mine for me free of charge, hopefully they did the same for you!
Was your still under warranty? I am about to buy 2016 ND, just wondering, what is the price of a new transmission?
@@zblazek2 yep it was still under warranty and the transmission issues were covered as it being a known issue.
