This bike is dead sexy, the Italians really know how to style a bike. This appears to be the ideal sport tourer. It has looks, power, gadgets, comfort(certainly in the S trim), handles well, shaft drive, and character. I think I'll have to wait for a year or two for a couple of reasons. 1) It's a new bike and needs some time for Guzzi to work out any kinks. 2) Just bought another new bike this last August and need some time to replenish the account with my wife. Great video review and in icy, poor conditions too. I was lusting for this bike as soon as I saw the release videos and very positive reviews. Test rode one on a variety of roads and immediately fell in love. Bought a red one they had at the dealership in Nottingham straight away with panniers, top box and engine protectors. What a bike! Agree with everything you said, such good looks, quality and fantastic handling.
I have a 2018 V7III Milano. Love it more than I can say. Feels great, smells great, looks great, goes great! The one motorcycle I will never part with. My son gets it when I'm too old and feeble to ride. It was my first motorcycle after 41 years of not riding. Ha, I really like my Enfields, but that MG is outstanding!!! I'll stop now 😂

Well this is a rabbit out of the hat, what a bike to test drive. Of all the new bikes that have come out recently, this one looks the most exciting prospect. The price is a bit eye watering but you sometimes have to pay a premium for a special bike. The changes to the new T120 put me off a bit from that bike but this one is something new and exciting, great review 👍

I have always liked Guzzi’s, quite fancied a V50 Monza back in the day, never got one though 🙄. I like the look of that, except that dustbin on the side. I know all big bikes have this style of exhaust nowadays, but why, when something slicker would do the same job. Other than that, if I won the lotto, I would have one. Last year (2021), I started bird-dawgin this Italian beauty. In September 2022, I gave Plano, Texas USA Moto Guzzi a $500 deposit. Early in the morning of 10/17/2022, on the Moto Guzzi USA web store, I entered my online “reservation” for the 2023 V100 Mandello “S” in “Centenario” Livery (premium Verde 2121 color) - Special Edition $17,490. The customer care representative told me my Order# 190 was the 1st V100 Mandello order received by Moto Guzzi USA. I’m SUPER EXCITED! To me, the V100 Mandello is STUNNINGLY EXOTIC & HANDSOME!
Outstanding review! It seems that all Italian motorcycles are rolling pieces of sculpture. Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Aprilia, MZ Augusta, and even Vespa are like that. Just beautiful.
Great to see a new bike from Guzzi. It sounds like the engine makes a whining noise. I had a '79 le mans l and '84 le mans lll, wonderful bikes. I'd prefer one of them to this but they would probably cost more than this bike.

One day, if you have a 40-hours or so (!), I will tell you about my Moto Guzzi dealer in the USA. Who in 20-trips (exaggerating) could not get my brand new 1997 Moto Guzzi Sports 1100 to run properly. Idle - but pop and fart on throttle. Marginally acceptable on throttle - and would then stall at every stop light. Maddening! He tried dozens of different computer chips. Not that it mattered - the speedo stopped working in 50-miles anyway! We finally gave up - the sad tale of how I came out of this financially- makes me (and my wife) cry! Would I buy another one? Guess!
Having done a test ride to day I am sold on the V100 Mandello. The bike does all that Guzzi claim, the mid range torque is so good it feels like you could survive with a three speed gearbox ( but would you want too ?). Brakes are very good with plenty of feel and the steering is quick, the riding position is superb with a seat that seems comfortable for long journeys ( did about 50 miles ). In the short time that I had the bike I seemed to be random selecting the electronic functions, the thing seems to have more functions than the Boeing 737 flight management system ! , clearly a bit of training would be required to get the best from the electronics but even on my short ride the difference between sport, road and touring modes was clear with the touring mode seeming to offer the most on fast A roads. I had considered the adaptive aerodynamics as a bit of a gimmick but was surprised to find that in the 9 c temperatures the difference was marked on the legs and beer gut. Anyhow I agree with most of what this review says but I was lucky enough to have mostly dry roads to ride on and pushed the bike a lot further in the corners , the bike performed faultlessly on the twisty bits and this was what finally convinced me it was time to reach for the credit card. Past experience has shown me that base model suspension is built down to a price and despite working well for the first few years of ownership the performance falls off after a while so I ordered the S version and get all the toys my guess is this is likely to save money in the long run. The dealer is expecting delivery in about three weeks, the time due to the accessories I have ordered.
@@TAYM The result of the new Moto Guzzi is that I now have a Triumph ST1050 with all the touring kit , Nitron suspension and about 45,000 miles on the clock for sale for about £3k if any of your views are interested.
Am not too keen on the looks compared to the other Guzzis. Wouldnt kick it out of bed though😄. You and Ian Hughes out reviewing bikes in winter, great stuff.
Well TAYM I think we have a diamond here this could be bike of the year 2023 I like it a whole lot to rich for my blood but oh how I would like to have one , and I am not a Moto Guzzi aficionado either ,I have only ever ridden an 850 T3 and a Californian and that was eons ago on a short test ride . Like it !!😉👌
The dash info is very small indeed. It could do with being substantially larger😂😂 the lean is not very much at all. I was on for 1 1/2 hours and could easily have doubled that and have no reason to think I couldn’t have done more. The seat is really comfortable and supportive. A seriously nice bike. 😊 thank you 😊
That V-twin swing wing Guzzi is a bike and a half! I don't even like adventure tourers, but I could do with one of those. It doesn't have that beak at the front that so many adventure bikes have and it looks and sounds so good. The winglets are a bit of a gimmick; if they close below 30mph, why even bother closing at all? In reality though, for my riding conditions all I need is a bike, not a bike and a half. I don't think that I could use the power in the city or the country without losing my life or my licence. And Silver Spectre sounds almost as good....
Oh the cold. Don't know how you guys do it. Guess I'm spoiled being a Florida guy. We do have cold wet days, but nothing like what you deal with i know. What bike is Biggles? I know that's what you rode in on,. but didn't see it. So I'm assuming that it rides like a sport bike yes? I mean the seating position. Sounds good,like a Guzzi should. What a great review of this enthralling motorcycle 👍 I noticed you refrained yourself from saying Splendiferous a couple of times untill we got to the senses. You were itching to say it, I know you were but perhaps past criticism led you to be overly cautious. I've had my eye on this one since it was first conceived and although we've had as long a wait as the BSA I feel Moto Guzzi were making sure everything was spot on. They waited till they had bikes putting rubber on showroom floors, I'm sure now they'll fly out the doors. I have an even tougher dilemma than yourself as to afford one I'd need to let either the ZZR go or both the KTM and the Vulcan. Mrs Wolf would never allow the ZZR to go, nor would I but I'm not getting any younger. She's also grown to like the KTM rather a lot and it's certainly more suited to winter roads. Poor Biggles being sat next to his possible replacement 😔 I guess the final decision will be down to Mrs TAYM and the Rocket is an awesome bike. Perhaps though the V100 is the more practical/ manageable choice 🤔😀
It really is a special bike I think. BSA must have been badly advised on the marketing front, that’s all I can think. I think this bike could be a good bike to step down to from the ZZR if you wanted something a little lighter/smaller. I guess its main competition is the Z1000sx and the GSX GT and on that score i think it wins hands down. 😊 Hmmm, Mrs TAYM 🤔 😂😂😂
@@TAYM Ooh, I got two thumbs up, I think one might be from Mrs TAYM? She knows I know she wears the trousers as far as new bikes are concerned. You need to get a second go on the V100 with Mrs TAYM as pillion. You never know she might get some good vibrations from it 😁 Our problems are that they've each been spoiled, Mrs TAYM by the Rocket 3 and Mrs Wolf by the ZZR, it's BIG ask to get anyone to come down from those thrones. Whilst I myself might enjoy the more comfortable ergonomics and a little less weight. I have to admit that even although the ZZR will happily cruise and munch the miles without being an absolute hooligan. I do rather enjoy the fact that no other bike ( other than perhaps the Rocket) quite matches it's enthusiasm to go forwards even at lower revs 🏍️💨😵
@@AuxesisHyperbole666 keep forgetting about that 🤔 have a couple of friends bought the multi strada and complained about the fact they spent more time in the work shop because of electric problems and or the cost of servicing. I don’t know if they’ve improved?

Moto Guzzi have done a really great job on this I like very much. Health wise RR not good hospital said it’s COPD flaring up 6 steroids 2 antibiotics a day that’s not including the 12 other tablets have to take then 2 inhalers on top don’t know if I’m coming or going at the moment not riding to much I have to stay in for a few weeks in the warmth this cold air kills me breathing. Hope your doing ok and healing well 👍👍🙏🙏🙏

I had a biggles for 18 months, good bike but it lacked something 🤔 hence the 1050 v-strom. Love Guzzi's, had a couple in the past and funnily the stats for the mandello and the strom are very similar! Must give the V100 a try.....shaft drive, lovely..
Love your enthusiasm. It looks to be an awesome bike. Just one thing, re' the styling, it really doesn't look that much like a LeMans, (definitely not like my Mk2 for example) or any other Mk. To me it's more of a modern (twin cylinder) version of a Morbidelli V8.
I was thinking of the mk iv 1000 but it was only a look. I think you can clearly see that it has spent some time in the wind tunnel. I can also see what you mean about the morbidelli but wasn’t the fully faired? 😊 nonetheless it’s a marvellous bike 😊
22% wind deflection is alot & those stats be accurate as Motoguzzi is the motorcycle company to have a wind tunnel for testing. Get one TAYM for the garage but your biggest senses test will be Mrs TAYM😁😆😂🤣.
A fine looking machine . But the seat to footpeg dimension looks short . Modern Guzzis seem to be built this way , (with the exception of the V85 TT) it makes long distance rides very uncomfortable for some of us . But the rest of the bike is gorgeous and the engine seems a corker . Well done Moto Guzzi ! 😍
I found it really comfy but wasn’t on it all day. It was a lot better than the Yamaha Tracer and possibly better than the gsx gt and z1000sx. Certainly the peg to hip height wasn’t any less. Absolutely well done to Moto Guzzi. Thank you D 😊

Beautiful bike but I just wish they hadn't fitted the exhaust down pipes with metalic half circumference covers held on by a couple of jubilee clips and a screw and the front mudguard wasn't so short (demo bike covered with mud up the rad and engine) but hopefully there will be an after market product

Lovely looking bike but I’d be inclined to have crash bars fitted. God forbid if it should fall over those nice looking exhaust pipes would take the brunt. Great video 👍
I've had a 900 Sprint (carby) for a few years and loved it, but recent sprag clutch replacement ($$$$$$) and now blown head gasket have severely soured the taste. I've owned Guzzi's in the past, (LM2 & 3), and I'm seriously considering a V100 as every video I've seen so far have been very positive about this new offering.
I thought I was watching an episode of street hawk 🏍️ for a moment 😜😂 lovely bike. The easy option is for you to buy a motorbike dealer, then you can own them all 😁😁

Anyhow I agree with most of what this review says but I was lucky enough to have mostly dry roads to ride on and pushed the bike a lot further in the corners , the bike performed faultlessly on the twisty bits and this was what finally convinced me it was time to reach for the credit card. Past experience has shown me that base model suspension is built down to a price and despite working well for the first few years of ownership the performance falls off after a while so I ordered the S version and get all the toys my guess is this is likely to save money in the long run. The dealer is expecting delivery in about three weeks, the time due to the accessories I have ordered.
Yes, the S model is worth the additional £2k extra over the base model 😊 very jealous 😊 thank you 😊
@@TAYM The result of the new Moto Guzzi is that I now have a Triumph ST1050 with all the touring kit , Nitron suspension and about 45,000 miles on the clock for sale for about £3k if any of your views are interested.

Well TAYM I think we have a diamond here this could be bike of the year 2023 I like it a whole lot to rich for my blood but oh how I would like to have one , and I am not a Moto Guzzi aficionado either ,I have only ever ridden an 850 T3 and a Californian and that was eons ago on a short test ride . Is the seating position leaned forward? How would it be to tour on? The dash printing looks a little small, and hard to read?
The dash info is very small indeed. It could do with being substantially larger😂😂 the lean is not very much at all. I was on for 1 1/2 hours and could easily have doubled that and have no reason to think I couldn’t have done more. The seat is really comfortable and supportive. A seriously nice bike. 😊 thank you 😊
That V-twin swing wing Guzzi is a bike and a half! I don't even like adventure tourers, but I could do with one of those. It doesn't have that beak at the front that so many adventure bikes have and it looks and sounds so good. The winglets are a bit of a gimmick; if they close below 30mph, why even bother closing at all? In reality though, for my riding conditions all I need is a bike, not a bike and a half. I don't think that I could use the power in the city or the country without losing my life or my licence. And Silver Spectre sounds almost as good....

Almost forgot, rides like a vary comfortable sports tourer but is very easy in town and poor conditions. 😊

What a great review of this enthralling motorcycle 👍 I noticed you refrained yourself from saying Splendiferous a couple of times untill we got to the senses. You were itching to say it, I know you were but perhaps past criticism led you to be overly cautious. I've had my eye on this one since it was first conceived and although we've had as long a wait as the BSA I feel Moto Guzzi were making sure everything was spot on.
They waited till they had bikes putting rubber on showroom floors, I'm sure now they'll fly out the doors. I have an even tougher dilemma than yourself as to afford one I'd need to let either the ZZR go or both the KTM and the Vulcan. Mrs Wolf would never allow the ZZR to go, nor would I but I'm not getting any younger. She's also grown to like the KTM rather a lot and it's certainly more suited to winter roads. Poor Biggles being sat next to his possible replacement 😔 I guess the final decision will be down to Mrs TAYM and the Rocket is an awesome bike. Perhaps though the V100 is the more practical/ manageable choice 🤔😀
It really is a special bike I think. BSA must have been badly advised on the marketing front, that’s all I can think. I think this bike could be a good bike to step down to from the ZZR if you wanted something a little lighter/smaller. I guess its main competition is the Z1000sx and the GSX GT and on that score i think it wins hands down. 😊 Hmmm, Mrs TAYM 🤔 😂😂😂
@@TAYM Ooh, I got two thumbs up, I think one might be from Mrs TAYM? She knows I know she wears the trousers as far as new bikes are concerned. You need to get a second go on the V100 with Mrs TAYM as pillion. You never know she might get some good vibrations from it 😁 Our problems are that they've each been spoiled, Mrs TAYM by the Rocket 3 and Mrs Wolf by the ZZR, it's BIG ask to get anyone to come down from those thrones.
Whilst I myself might enjoy the more comfortable ergonomics and a little less weight. I have to admit that even although the ZZR will happily cruise and munch the miles without being an absolute hooligan. I do rather enjoy the fact that no other bike ( other than perhaps the Rocket) quite matches it's enthusiasm to go forwards even at lower revs 🏍️💨😵

Moto Guzzi have done a really great job on this I like very much.
Health wise RR not good hospital said it’s COPD flaring up 6 steroids 2 antibiotics a day that’s not including the 12 other tablets have to take then 2 inhalers on top don’t know if I’m coming or going at the moment not riding to much I have to stay in for a few weeks in the warmth this cold air kills me breathing.

I had a biggles for 18 months, good bike but it lacked something 🤔 hence the 1050 v-strom. Love Guzzi's, had a couple in the past and funnily the stats for the mandello and the strom are very similar! Must give the V100 a try.....shaft drive, lovely..

Love your enthusiasm. It looks to be an awesome bike. Just one thing, re' the styling, it really doesn't look that much like a LeMans, (definitely not like my Mk2 for example) or any other Mk. To me it's more of a modern (twin cylinder) version of a Morbidelli V8.
I was thinking of the mk iv 1000 but it was only a look. I think you can clearly see that it has spent some time in the wind tunnel. I can also see what you mean about the morbidelli but wasn’t the fully faired? 😊 nonetheless it’s a marvellous bike 😊
@@TAYM yeah it was kind of 3/4 faired. Maybe it's the side exhaust that was making me think of the V8 😃
22% wind deflection is alot & those stats be accurate as Motoguzzi is the motorcycle company to have a wind tunnel for testing.
Get one TAYM for the garage but your biggest senses test will be Mrs TAYM😁😆😂🤣.

But the seat to footpeg dimension looks short .
Modern Guzzis seem to be built this way , (with the exception of the V85 TT) it makes long distance rides very uncomfortable for some of us .
But the rest of the bike is gorgeous and the engine seems a corker .

I found it really comfy but wasn’t on it all day. It was a lot better than the Yamaha Tracer and possibly better than the gsx gt and z1000sx. Certainly the peg to hip height wasn’t any less. Absolutely well done to Moto Guzzi. Thank you D 😊

Beautiful bike but I just wish they hadn't fitted the exhaust down pipes with metalic half circumference covers held on by a couple of jubilee clips and a screw and the front mudguard wasn't so short (demo bike covered with mud up the rad and engine) but hopefully there will be an after market product

I've had a 900 Sprint (carby) for a few years and loved it, but recent sprag clutch replacement ($$$$$$) and now blown head gasket have severely soured the taste. I've owned Guzzi's in the past, (LM2 & 3), and I'm seriously considering a V100 as every video I've seen so far have been very positive about this new offering.
