From a styling point of view the lack of hoses, wiring, throttle bodies within the Vee and out of view harken back to a time when one viewed the motor as a styling element which I love. Most new bikes have motors either covered with plastic fairings or have many unsightly appendages. Guzzi have done a masterful job of keeping the beauty of the bikes engine simple and uncluttered. Will soon join my red frame V11 Sport Bella La Guzzi!
Congratulations on being the first UK based non-launch reviewer. I've been waiting for this bike and you obviously really rate it. This is the best looking bike to be produced in years. I'll have to get a testride but I bought a new Tracer 9GT six months ago (which I love) so I can't see myself replacing it anytime soon because I'll lose a lot of money.
its only money.. vs.. riding the bike you reeeaally love.. some compromises just aren't worth the time in your lifetime lost.. just doit without regrets
Thank you for a great review, Mark. Incredible bike from MG! This will change their fortunes :). So great to see a bike designed for real-world riding, and then realized with such care. Home run!
Many thanks....yes it's rivals like the Suzuki and Kawasaki are amazing and similar ish money comparing to the guzzi base model but I think the guzzi is way more classy Best wishes mark
Mark is such a gracious reviewer and gentleman that he is quick to give bikes credit and focus on their positive qualities, so it is especially meaningful to hear his effusive enthusiasm for this Guzzi. Now I’m going to go ride one. Might be replacing my Beemer for the Italian. Thanks Mark!
Great review Mark, what a spectacular bike, oozing quality. It seems Moto Guzzi's new engine is very capable of carrying them into the future with a variety of applications. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
I absolutely love the Griso 8V, but given I have no room for more than one bike, I was never brave enough to pull the trigger. Not the best reputation for reliability, and dealer/mechanic support is not the greatest in the US. But the Mandello really seems to change the game. It's gorgeous and they have apparently put a lot of effort into making it a dependable daily. All the emotion, a lot less heartache! Perfect.
Very nice. Got a guzzi v85tt that I bought secondhand at the moment. This could be my future bike. Love the feel of those guzzi engines. Better start saving up

A beautiful machine, amazing styling by Guzzi. The new engine looks superb especially the side exit pipes. At this price I’d expect a centre stand and a full size front mudguard otherwise it gets my vote👍. Thanks Mark you’ve certainly had a busy week so enjoy the weekend.
Lovely bike Mark when the GS needs a change I will definitely be looking at one of these. The price is competitive but I may need to wait for a used example. Keen for a test ride though. That engine sounds and looks beautiful.
I spent some time in Beaulieu back in 1987 or 88, can’t remember which. Now after a very long time abroad including many a trip to the uk I am back in Australia. Lovely little town and lovely bike.
The Japan's brands are so over shadowed by European bikes nows days..... with my last bike being Italian, my current Honda just feels so Vanilla. Be pleased to get something interesting next summer. Nice review lovely bike👍
Love guzzi v twins , thats one lovely looking bike . Thanks for another proper review (as usual),really good .Have you seen the green and silver one ,real class.
Centre stand is an option as is lower/higher seat ( both with heating as standard) Mark needed it on this test ride🤣 Ordered the s version 2 months ago! I think I’m happy🤪
And that's about how long I manage to keep the cruise control on 😂. Lovely bike, excellent review again Mark thank you. Those winglets popping out remind me of a beetle taking to flight 😊
A great detailed review. I have a Multistrada 950 and a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100. This could be a replacement for both. I will hang fire for a year or two though, as I got burnt by the early Stelvio cam follower problems. Hopefully Guzzi have learnt from this.
Nice thorough review Mark! I think the Mandello will be quite a hit among the sport touring set looking for something that's both different yet still offers good value. Oh and thanks for treating us to some more lovely English countryside!
Nice review Mark👍Stunning looking bike with real character. Had a California EV from new back in 2003 and loved it to bits despite the chocolate camshaft and 4 engine rebuilds in its first 10k miles. Comfy bikes for long distance and stress free, lazy engine. Just when I got mine sorted, I had a work move to Malaysia in 2005 and have been here ever since. Guzzi dealerships out here as rare as hen's teeth so I reluctantly had to sell it rather than bring it out here - although I did see the exact same model in one bike shop here.....but twice the price of what I paid in the UK! Finally back on 2 wheels after a break with a Benelli Leoncino now - loved your reviews of this bike. Great little bike but stil have a soft spot for my big Guzzis. ATVB and stay safe
Hi razif ..yes this is a stunning bike I Iike the character of guzzis....glad you like your Benelli...I've just bought a royal Enfield hunter 350 love it Best wishes mark
A really good review. Seat height, stature, reach, comfort, tank capacity etc. All the things I want to hear about. Even off the bike manoeuvrability. The practical aspects often glossed over by others. No longer a head/heart decision! Just a shame about the dealer network. Maybe mention servicing costs too in future reviews.
Great review Mark, shame about the weather though the New Forest looks stunning as ever! What a lovely , sensible bike, one for real motorcyclists I’d say! 👏👍😀
Same Brembos I had on my RnineT, some of the best brake callipers in the motorcycle world 😊. Hopefully this summer I am considering the new V100 Stelvio.
I noticed its got that leaky Brembo Plastic Front brake reservoir cap. Multistrada’s also use those pastic covers and they leak like crazy. Everyone replaces them with aluminum covers so brake fluid doesn’t leak all over your bike.
Mark, please do a straight on shot of the headlights and face of the motorcycle. I noticed you are leaving it out at times. Great review, thank you.....Sal : ).
I have wanted to see this bike in the flesh and was disappointed that Aprilia were not at the NEC Motorcycle Live last month. So this is the next best. Well done Mark.
@@Jan-eh7nf I agree it’s too expensive to get in, food & drinks plus parking. It started to go downhill from the previous recession then COVID and now another recession plus pending ban on ICE vehicles
Great review! The bike looks wonderful, the engine sounds sweet and I can't wait to test ride one. I'm in Texas in the US and they are scheduled to arrive very late this month or early January 23. Currently riding a 2019 R1250RT and hoping this bike leaves me no choice but to buy one :)
Hi Mark, you say this is all day comfy, I remember you liked the benelli trk502 for comfort. Would be great to see you list the most comfortable bikes / scooters you've experienced across the differing capacities. I too have been waiting to see reviews on this. That short engine looks incredible 🙂
Front mudguard caught my eye at the press launch, amazing amount of work just in a mudguard. I've never been tempted to buy a BMW,but this, certainly would consider one! Just a tad expensive for the base model, and I've not heard a price for the 3rd option yet, the 'Navy Edition',or whether we get that here in the UK? I like it!
All that work and about 20cm too short! Pyramid plastics have taken some measurements from my mate's V100 so should have an extender ready before the summer, though.
Mark for this one I have been waiting, great review like always. Can you fit a spare spectacles under that seat ? Here in Belgium when you are wearing one you have to have a spare with you always when driving. Under the seat of my FZ1 Fazer I can fit one in a case.
I like the lines of the engine. Overall, a very good-looking bike. Great dash. Brilliant screen. I'm not a windscreen man, but one that retracts a long way would make me think again.
Beautiful bike and entertaining comments. The winglets? They are a gimmick waiting to be broken, I suspect. That aside, it looks to be one very sensible sport tourer - looking forward to seeing on in person.
Very brave Mark to take out such a wonderful and expensive machine on a test ride in our winter conditions, to report it to your followers. Are these Pirellis really good? (I am about to put new rubber on my Suzuki Katana and the Pirellis are on my short list) Can you get heated grips as an option on the entry/basic Mandello? £13,500 seems acceptable but £15,500 is a bit steep for the top one because the Guzzi meets some stiff competition at that price mark. Still, a wonderful bike and I would like to have one in my garage. I will ask father Christmas for one but I wont hold my breath 😉
@@bikeaholic6386 Thanks, I have four candidates on my short list. The Michelin Road 6, The continental Attack 3, Metzeler roadtec and now the Pirellis. I have some time to make a choice because I am reluctant to take my bikes on to the salty roads at the moment. I am not afraid of the cold, I just hate that bloody salt. I know it is a necessity but still, I don't like the thought of it. All that salt getting everywhere on the bike, even with ACF-50 protection.
Well Mark great review as usual and that is one very nice motorcycle and I like it in the white which surprises me a little I am currently thinking of twins but not sure I could run to this one but I reckon if I could I would .😉👌
A very promising platform, really intrigued to see what Guzzi do next (although I hope they have some sub-£10k offerings!). My ideal bike from them would be something with similar power to the V85TT but a bit lighter, wishful thinking perhaps.
Nice looking bike for sure. I do wish it had keyless start and as you pointed out; wish it had a centre stand. Not a fan of gold colour wheels, but such as life. Thanks for posting/sharing. Cheers!
Very beautifull machine. You can see it's made in the Mandello plant. The screws and bolts are marked with a yellow dot. Than it's Mandello quality control.
What a delightful bike! I am not even interested in sports tourers, but I do like that swing wing V-twin. A wonderful V-twin and it doesn't have the ugly beak at the front that many sports tourers do. I enjoyed the review!
Good review Mark, I’m seriously interested in the V100 not seen one close up yet but the quality looks really good. I honestly believe the bike will sell extremely well, come the spring I’ll be looking to buy one.
That's a beautiful bike, I've been keeping up to date with the launch. Hopefully my nearest dealer will have a demo bike and as soon as the weather gets a bit warmer I'll book a ride. It would be really stretching my budget but hey its only money! Guzzi/Piaggio group need to get more dealers as they are very few and far between. Great review as always sounds like you enjoyed the bike.
I am in love with the look of this bike but couldn't help noticing the location of the rear brake master cylinder [2:23] which raised a concern because Ducati and Aprilia (MG's sister company) had models with very similar location for the rear brake master cylinder (real close to the pipes) where the extreme heat caused it to completely fail after a relatively short time. So, I wonder if the Mandello will suffer from the same or not, any thoughts?
If I'm ever in the market for a sports-tourer, this is top of my list. Front fender is way to short, it'll throw everything into the rad. When will they show us the luggage?
Love the engine and engineering but not the plastics, and definitely not in white. Apparently the green is the best seller. I would like to see another colour up close. I did think it was a little small sitting on it, but then I do like the V85 and next to each other you do see the difference. I'm sure they'll sell, Guzzis are good bikes, I love mine, but the top model is a bit pricey given what's coming out these days. Great review 👍
Excellent review thanks. This is at the very top of my next bike list. Awaiting test ride but I'd probably go for the non S model. Don't need quickshifter and could easily fit Oxford heated grips and possibly Nitron rear shock as I hear this one can be harsh then still save £1400 quid. I like using cruise so nice to see you use it. ☺
Beautiful. I would prefer the handlebars a little narrower and the fairing a little wider/taller, but one could get an oversize screen as I did for the Norge, I suspect (Skidmarx)? The winglets I remain unconvinced about, how does a tank bag attach? In due course we'll know. I know I want one 🙂
good review, love this bike and have been waiting for this review so thankyou, the red one for me, I will buy one when they are available, well done great information
As a Guzzi owner I want to love this bike and it certainly has a lot of qualities but the biggest problem is the price. Once you load the “S” model or even the base up with the panniers etc it becomes very expensive against any obvious competitors. It even puts it Square in the territory of something like the Aprilia Tuono V4 which has a stonking engine. You can only rely on Guzzi beards buying so many.
It's true the liter-class Japanese sport tourers are priced a bit less but they all lack shaft drive and most if not all lack an electronic windshields and panniers as standard on the base models. Given the Mandello's features, I think its real competition is the Concours, FJR1300, and the R 1250 RT and in that company I think the Mandello is a pretty solid value.
One of the best locations for a test of my dream bike that I've seen. I had to stop watching these when it came out 'cos it was to painful to watch as I don't think I'll ever be able to actually get one. I'm daring to dream again. 😊
Great Review! Your review was the only one I saw that really talked about the smoothness and lack of vibration. I was glad to hear these things, as it is very important to me, as well as the relative positions of the seat and pegs. I also have a 30" inseam and was worried that I would need the low seat. From you review, it does not appear so. I have a pre-order in for an "S" model. I am very excited to see (and of course, ride) it! I agree there should be a standard center stand. There is one available from Guzzi. Thanks again for a great review!
From a styling point of view the lack of hoses, wiring, throttle bodies within the Vee and out of view harken back to a time when one viewed the motor as a styling element which I love.
@@WolfgangVonKempelen838 I'm the same, it's the salt that keeps my bike in over the winter rather than the cold. I
Great review Mark, if I had the money I would seriously be visiting the dealer. Ride Safe .
Well Mark great review as usual and that is one very nice motorcycle and I like it in the white which surprises me a little I am currently thinking of twins but not sure I could run to this one but I reckon if I could I would .😉👌
Looks good in white, like the green too. Very interesting bike. I’m looking for a sport tourer my wife can fit on too.
A very promising platform, really intrigued to see what Guzzi do next (although I hope they have some sub-£10k offerings!). My ideal bike from them would be something with similar power to the V85TT but a bit lighter, wishful thinking perhaps.
There is talk of a new Stelvio with this engine, shoud be great.
V7s are way sub £10k already. They're great bikes
@@foggyrf9 but they don't use the new platform!
@@Geshmaal there will never be a Moto Guzzi on this platform for less than £10,000.
Beautiful bike. Excellent review. Would like to know how high was your line of sight over the windshield while it was in the top position.
Hi quite high over it about 9 inches but the wind was very well directed over me ...must be those clever wing things lol 😂 cheers mark
Thanks it's a beautiful bike a dream to ride cheers mark
Good review Mark, I’m seriously interested in the V100 not seen one close up yet but the quality looks really good. I honestly believe the bike will sell extremely well, come the spring I’ll be looking to buy one.
Thanks Ian I would choose the v100 over say the gsxs or ninja
Cheers mark
10 seconds in and that is an awesome looking bike. But expensive.
Thanks Mike yes Kawasaki and Suzuki have got some competition now !!
I did put a little picture in of the luggage at about 5 mins
Best wishes mark
Great review as usual Mark seems like a great bike
Great looking bike, & a fantastic review 👍👌
Many thanks 👍
Hi thanks 👍... enjoy your videos too...have you still got your zero ?
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 Still have it but for legal reasons can't currently comment..... 😉
Would have been good to show how the base model Susan adjusts and we’re the rear adjuster is .
Definitely...yes a bigger screen would be better but the standard screen is quite effective
Cheers mark
There's a new Stelvio coming, just wait a bit
@@foggyrf9 Adventure bikes not really my thing....but still exciting 😜
good review, love this bike and have been waiting for this review so thankyou, the red one for me, I will buy one when they are available, well done great information
Thanks very much noel 😊
Good review, seriously fancy one of these for touring 😎
Great Review! Your review was the only one I saw that really talked about the smoothness and lack of vibration. I was glad to hear these things, as it is very important to me, as well as the relative positions of the seat and pegs. I also have a 30" inseam and was worried that I would need the low seat. From you review, it does not appear so. I have a pre-order in for an "S" model. I am very excited to see (and of course, ride) it! I agree there should be a standard center stand. There is one available from Guzzi. Thanks again for a great review!
Many thanks Eugene 😁
