Life saver! Thank you so much for this common-sense answer to magnetizing sockets. Just did this on my 3/8" drive ratchet. Will it work with 1/4" drives? They're kinda small...
i cant find a photo or a book that shows me the wiring harness for my 1971 GMC GM inline 6 with a three speed on the tree.. ( not original motor ) but i just need from the fire wall to the head lights then from fire wall to dash.. i can figure out the rest.. if someone could give me a website to where i can download a PDF or get a image from it.. thank you..
I've never seen a magnet like that. It's used for hanging pictures?? Where, on a fridge? Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT idea. I'm just wondering where I'm supposed to find these magnets. Edit; I searched button magnets on Amazon. Ding-ding-ding!! Thank you, Stacey! I always enjoyed watching your shows, but I haven't seen you on TV lately, so I'll follow you here instead. /subscribed :thumbs up:
Cool, except when you try to stick something magnetic into a tight area, it will try to stick to everything around it. Not gonna be as easy as you might think to perfectly stab that bolt into the hole.
Well, I'll be hornswaggled! You are a lifesaver!!!
This has to be one of the best tips you have shared. This will save me so much time.
I just learned of this hack yesterday. Thanks for this tip🙌🏽. Harbor freight sells these!!! 10 for 2.79 and perfect for 3/8 extensions.
So simple, yet so effective.
Thanks ( I wish I would have known this 50 years ago ! )
For real!
Really!!!! Come on man!!! You are telling me it took me 40 years and some guy on the internet to figure this out!!!🤦♂️ Thank you
Fantastic tip....I can't believe that I've never thought about that....or even heard about it, until just now. Thanks again!
The smallest of round magnets did not fit the 3/8" square hole to insert the extension with glued on magnet.
Quick and simple. Love it!
love the idea.. I will be using this from now on!!!!
incredibly simple, and i never would have thought of it.
Fantastic idea !!!
Good tip Stacey love the show !! hey here is what Iam working on have a look Thanks Mark
That's awesome. Great idea! I'm gonna do that to all my 3/8 extensions at work. Screw buying magnetic sockets off the tool truck now lol.

That is awesome
thank you regards
oldie but a goodie
You Sir are a Genius!!!! And I mean that sincerely.
i use grease in the socket hold any size bolt simple.
Does this still work if it's a deep well socket?
cause they would probably charge you more for a magnetic extension vs just going out and for some super glue and magnets.
very smart
cool!
Could you not wrap the extension in wire and touch it to a battery, like you would do a screw driver?
thumbs up my man
anyone have the size or amazon link?
