Nice vid! I worked as truck driver and got the chance to go inside the gates of the prison. Had to do some work inside the gates with the prisoners. Very different experience!
@@r0ckstar666 we've been here for over 20 years & the few escapes rarely effect the people who live here. I guess things have changed. The day me and my wife were scheduled to do the 1st part of our scuba checkout dive, (6/87), there were electrical storms, torrential rains and visibility was about 3 inches. 2 weeks later we did the final part of our certification in the FL Keys, and the difference from diving with 3" vis to 100ft vis was not even explainable as to why ANYONE would enter that TX body of water. 37 years later, and I have never scuba in fresh water since thanks to this pit!
Your absolutely a troll..you opened your comment with the WHY the visibility was low then proceeded to trash the place...just like if you went to Hawaii and got hit by a hurricane 2 days before and started to batch about it. Your a joke.
We have the same thing in Australia. It’s not exactly healthy to be in that water for too long. It’s like it is due to chemicals released due to the digging. Beware !!
This water is actually very clean. It is due to the limestone and sand that makes up the bottom and it is artesian spring. The only thing is the alkalinity is a touch high due to the limestone. But still well within safe limits. I am in this lagoon every weekend. And have done water test on it.
They have these Crystal Lagoons in Florida which are artificial and it cost me $53 just to swim. At least $40 to kayak and you can't take your own food so you have to pay their inflated prices. They might have a few of these Crystal Lagoons in Texas also.
We arrived at 10:00. Make sure you call ahead to make a reservation Bc they fill up fast. Also, I’m pretty sure you have to have someone that is a certified diver within your party. They need to bring their certification card, as well. You can definitely bring your own floats, picnic baskets, grills, etc. Hope y’all have a good time!
@@rowdyroebers1939 So you do have to call to reserve I was under the impression that only if your a scuba diver I thought I was first come first serve we want to friday
So, when you don’t reserve a spot using a certified diver within your group, you are on a first come, first serve basis. It is better if you can possibly find a certified diver to go with you. They are not required to actually scuba dive while there, but at least you can reserve a spot ahead of time and don’t have to be there until 10 am. Good luck!!
@@abililijacobkids2529 you really want to take a class, unless you are already diving. I’m not sure how deep that lagoon is. Anything under 30 feet or less you can do a controlled emergency ascent.
@@kyle1717 When I got my Advanced Open Water certification our test required us to descend to 90 ft and our instructor would swim behind us, tap us on the shoulder, and turn our air off. We would ditch our weight and perform an emergency ascent. No problem.
So, there are 2 lagoons, but you go to the same location. Blue Lagoon Scuba is located in Huntsville, TX. 649 Pinedale Rd. If you call for a reservation, ask for Lagoon 1 if possible. I think that one is prettier. Good luck! Thanks for watching!
Hope you have fun! Let me know how you like it! We’re going again next weekend, so I’ll do a follow up video with answers to a lot of other people’s questions.
It has snakes but in the grass and they don't go in the water and there little but no fish or alligators even tho I'm order to get in u have to be there at least before 5 am it's worth it

It’s so awesome!!! I want to move to Huntsville! God bless everyone!
There are about 12 prisons in Huntsville and that's also where death row is located

How did you get down into the water?
Awesome
Are you allowed to camp overnight?
No

You can film anything your eyes can see, even those Texas prisons. 1st amendment protected activity.
I see you are a man of culture as well.
Can you actually swim without the risk or is it shallow

Wasn’t there a really bad movie called Blue Lagoon? I think it was with a young Brooke Shields. My sister watched it not I!
Haha yes there was!! 😂 Thanks for watching!
Blue Lagoon was a really nice movie actually .
Yes, there is a movie called “The Blue lagoon” and it’s a beautiful movie
Scary one was Creature From The Black Lagoon
Liked and subscribed, I’m a fan of the Rowdy Roebers channel. Do you happen to know if they allow overnight camping?
I didn’t see anything about camping at the actual blue lagoon, but maybe at Huntsville State Park. Glad you’re enjoying the channel. 😉
No camping overnight
How early did you get there? Planning to go Sunday with a group of friends, can we picnic there as well?

Is there a fee or its just first come first serve?
Are there any crocodiles in that area ?
Too bad it’s only for divers. Such a nice place.
How far is it from Houston Texas
Can one swim there?
Is it still open?
So is it necessary to bring someone certified or they don't allow you in?

Mountain lions? This is just outside of flat Houston...no mountains in SE Texas.

Does it have alligators or any fish ? Like any predators of that sort ?
We didn’t see any. My husband swam pretty far out with goggles on and we never saw any fish. 🤷🏼♀️
