How rap has evolved in the Philippines since the first recorded rap song of Dyords Javier of "Naonseng Delight", a parody of "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang.

The instrumentals are from a Filipino folk dance called, "Cariñosa" and it's a dance where a handkerchief or fan is used as a prop to carry out a romance scenario. So not only did Ez wear the Filipino colours but was also referencing the dance 🇵🇭

I’m glad to see another TH-camr who reacts to EZ Mil’s “Panalo” performance who did some research about the lyrics, the singer, and the history. Some reactors I watched don’t have the same level of awareness as you. Thank you for appreciating him and his talent. More power to your channel. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
The background bell sound is an ethnic Filipino instrument called a Kulintang. When I realized that, it blew my mind. EZ Mil innovated this song to such a degree that it became a masterpiece. I think he’s a genius.
@@markmanongsong5026 Ilocano is a language dude. It's the third most spoken language in the Philippines. Please know the difference between dialect and language. 🤦
mostly professionals or either experienced singer/rappers tend to listen to the lyrics of the song or either the message to know if it's good or not, it's all about the message and not the beat or rhythm of the music
Yeah knox hill know how to appreciate artistry in any kind of music specially in rap just like he always did on BTS and other artist around the world like now. Salute K Hill
I like how he dissected this piece and researched prior to reacting. This is an artist who knows his craft and pays respect to other artists' talent. Kudos to Knox! You are a winner (Panalo)
To this dude is pure fire. I’ve lived in the Philippines for 5 years and I’m American. I lived in Pampanga and this guy is amazing. His flows, delivery, lyrics, passion and talent is amazing Filipinos should be proud of this guy cause I know I am. Mabuhay baby!

yes, Spain colonized the philippines in the past. pero hindi po yan ang ibig sabihin ni kuya Ez Mil sa kanta niya. he said, "I've been in Spain, but the letter S is silent." ibig sabihin po "I've been in pain." at wala po kinalaman yang colonization history na yan sa line na yan sa kanta niya po. just saying, sana maintindihan din ng iba. naga-assume kasi ang iba na about Spain colonizing the Philippines yung line na yan. hays
Ez said in an interview his dad is half Filipino-American.The mom is also Half. The dad is famous lead singer vocalist in a band in 90's EZ can dance, into meta edit his own video. He is multi tasking so definetely he's a different "breed"😍 a genius in his craft.l

Well so far this is the best reaction from a foreigner. Others just ridin' the hype but this man over here has explanations of everything he hears. Kudos to you bro. Pinoy here.
The folksy intro you hear at the start and in the backing track throughout the song is the carinosa. Typically played by a rondalla or a group of string instruments (banduria, octavina, laud, ukelele, and other Filipino-made instruments that are modeled after the violin).
Tagalog ,Visaya, ilocano are the biggest dialects used here in the philippines. And the rap started, ursy nu..." The dialect is ilocano. Find out the meaning of that chorus .

This is the most detailed reaction/song breakdown I've ever seen! Thank you for the effort of researching and knowing the background of EZ Mil, the Philippines, and its history. Kudos, Sir! Proud Filipino here!
The music behind the intro of the song is part of a Filipino Folk Dance music called Cariñosa. It was very genius of EZ Mil to use that as an inspiration coz Filipinos know that music by heart. Once we hear it, we know it's ours.❤
Hey no cap I’m glad I found this guy he is dope as fuck! Amazing artist has great English verses and Tagalog. He’s an awesome artist I’m proud of him and all Filipinos should be!
Love it when a true rapper reacts to ez mill, even the little details about the song you notice. He really used a filipino folk song in the begenning called carinosa and the bell your hearing is not a bell but a musical instrument called kulintang. Wish performances are all live performance. Try other rapper/singer performances like kz tandingans rolling in the deep on the singer2018 or pricetag and clr's kontrabida on the wish bus. Thank you for the reaction.
I am a Filipino and am so proud of Ez Mil for making this heartfelt, feel good and emotional rap song that is creating havoc reactions and tremendous impact worldwide. Am also proud and happy that a rapper by the name of Knox Hill understand the sentiments of this Pnoy rap song and made a distinguish and true genuine blow by blow reactions and comments on this rap song. I salute u also Knox as a rapper u really felt the intricate meaning of EX Mil's rap song and truly understands the underlying gestures, tones, melody, and meaning of the lyrics of the song. Amazingly you adored the distinctive and ethnic melody and sounds of this very Pinoy rap song. Thank you, you're one of us at heart. PANALO talaga.
The best reaction I'd seen so far for this rap/song not just because of your positive comments but also how you understood the message of the song. Thank you.
With you translating to us, I can only imagin how proud The Philippines 🇵🇭 are for having EZ MILL as another SPOKESMAN along with PACMAN to represent their COUNTRY. O.M.G. I am getting EMOTIONAL. I am a PROUD to be Half Black & Half FILIPINO. ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Damn! He raps in 3 languages: English, Filipino and Ilocano! Edit: Language vs dialect discussion below. Join the healthy debate and please don't just leave a comment without backing up your argument. Thanks, everyone. ✌️
Categorically, it's a dialect/sub-language in textbooks, but I'm a rebel! I grew up in a multilingual household where we speak French, German, English, Filipino, Bahasa (Malaysia), Ilocano and Bisaya, I can say with confidence that Ilocano should be a language because it's so distinct, just like the many dialects in the Philippines. I consider it a language on its own. But that's just me.. Damn, do you know how hard it is to switch? Lol Ilocano is difficult!
Been waiting for your reaction for this kid. Ez mil is blowing up fast. He produces, edits, directs, dances, plays instruments. Kid can do everything. I hope you can react to to his "idk" music video ang "freeze" im telling you this kid is dope! No life shaq and scru face love this kid. He even gave shout out to scruface in "idk". Fire bro!

@@reijinvyskra1759 dialects.Philippines have many dialects. The official language of the Philippines is Tagalog. The Visayan and Ilocano there were dialects..
@@zreigfranznicolai9769 That is incorrect. Dialects are those with the same language but has a slight variety of syntax and grammar but still belongs in the same language. Tagalog is a language. However, their dialects consist of Northern and Southern Dialects known for Ilokanos. It is still ilokano but they way they speak it is different. I can't believe it has been 3 years since you reacted to this video, actually almost 4 years now. This is also the first video that i ever saw from your channel since I was looking for people's reaction to Ez mils song Panalo because it was big during that time (im also filipino kase hehe), and i just love the way you reacted to his song, actually no i love the way you analyzed everything and even pointed out details that most people didn't notice and i also didn't notice and because of that i was really invested about your reaction video's and chanel and i wanted to see more of your reaction videos. And it just happened so that you reacted to Blackpinks music, and I was really excited during that time since i was a blink, and when I watched your reaction to them i really appriciated that you were so amazed by them not because of their visuals but their talent and music and as a super blink i really was so proud about your reaction because it just proved that Blackpink is a unique group. The background bell sound is an ethnic Filipino instrument called a Kulintang. When I realized that, it blew my mind. EZ Mil innovated this song to such a degree that it became a masterpiece. I think he’s a genius.

2 languages and 1 dialect, in correction
@UCjBAd9vU1TTQJMCvMFWPzig a dialect is a sub-language in a particular region.
Hello Filipino folks 😂
Hello sir, After watching the Stalker track, i began doing a marathon reaction on your channel specially on our own fellow country men EZ. I've been following you for years. And you're the most realest and genuine who supports EZ from the start. I'm not a rapper but i do love music in general, Moreover you're one of my fav youtube rapper/artist ever, on top of that you're also one of my fav reactors. When i listen to a hip hop music and having a hard time to understand(Since i'm still trying to improve my communication skills/english comprehension), i immediately search for you're reaction for me to fully understand the music in general, may it be the lyrics, flow, cadence, multi syllables etc.
I would like to say that THANK YOU.
This is the most brilliant reaction I've ever watched!💙
Wow I've been watching your reactions because of kpop, I'm shocked with this

Filipinos went through a lot when the Spaniards made their presence in the Philippines 🇵🇭 for more than 350 years. Yes our ancestors came from the Spaniards and the Chinese Malay mixture. Thankyou Ez mil for speaking the truth
Oh how I wish that you could understand the Filipino lyrics as well-- The history, the culture, and all his upbringing were in those sentences, it would BLOW.YOU.AWAY. Thanks for reacting to one of our boy's songs. More power to your channel!

Until now, im still supporting you Knox❤
