NOTES - Wrist aim is more precise than Arm aim but has a smaller effective range. (think of a cone) - Arm aim is for bigger movements so you can get the target in your Wrist Aim Cone - Have a consistent anchor point if you want better wrist aim. This is where your wrist and mousepad meet - Your anchor point shouldn't change too often unless you are using Arm aim - Play around with your sensitivity whenever you find your ideal anchor point and cone size
Hell I was surprised how isn't this a normal, common way of using mouse playing games, not just fps. Like who uses their arm playing? Its so tedious to play like that. I can only see it on someone who is so tense playing, like kids. Use wrist, then lift just enough for the optics to not detect movement, and quickly drag it back to the center then flick again for extended rotation. You rotate at least 180° with just two.
Yeah look up quake pros like toxjq Rapha cooler all have been using high sens since 1996 and still have good aim today I don’t think they screwed up wrists

I found my anchor point after watching his previous video in which he said try to remember how you're body, arms, etc were positioned while you had a good day of gaming. The most helpful tip I've ever got. This dude knows exactly what he's talking about!
Something to keep in mind as well, your Ulnar range of motion, as in how many degrees in cm you can actually move your wrist. Up to 37 degrees, ideally you do not want to overdo it with your wrist unless you want some serious wrist pain and carpel tunnel, or some other form of injury. Your sens should be something that is comfortable and manageable for your wrist. For everything else it pays to know when to use and move your forearm, and to keep your wrist completely straight when your forearm is in use.
I think when finding an anchor point, most people suffer wrist injuries from having their wrists tilted as there neutral position. Ideally the wrist neutral position needs to have a straight line through the wrist and forearm, or a neutral 0 degrees like you said. Having a tilted anchor point could give the player a starting position that is unhealthy because the starting position for the wrist is subconsciously at about 10-15 degrees.
I guess my strength paid off, I'd been in love with pull ups so my wrist aim is alot stronger than usual, although i use mouse accel and high sens quake style 😂
I bought my first fps game ever several days ago, and promptly discovered that after playing with World of Warships aiming system for 3 years, I am actual crap at aiming in real fps games. Honestly, thanks for doing all you do on this channel to help teach poor plebs like me how to aim correctly.
I usually use my thumb on the analog stick... I never thought of using my wrist. I dunno, I tried and it's WAY harder. I don't know how anybody could even think of using their arm.
I’m brand new to PC, I tried to come up with a technique for myself that I could improve overtime, and micro manage to get rid of bad habits that don’t help me in aiming. I play D2 on 1600 DPI (originally 1200) and 8 sens. I use three different ways to aim, starting from my arm, to my wrist, and correcting with my fingers. There is a gap between my palm and mouse, the gives me the finger movement, either pulling back, pushing forward, or twisting left or right. Twisting clockwise to go left is really ineffective but right is good. I think I’ve learned at a decent pace, and this works for me. I used a lot of info you’ve posted in creating my own technique. Thank you
those three different ways merged together is actually the most efficient as can be. I'm curious how much better u have become one year later with such an aiming style?
I like wrist aiming because I have a small desk and I like high sensitivity. this video really helps to make my aim better and the advantage and disadvantages of wrist aiming :)
If yall aware of carpal tunnel. You can have carpal tunnel if your table is to high that makes your wrist posture raised you're prone, same if your table is too low and your chair is high.
Ive beaten up my body for years working, and my hands became especially tough, so I was a natural. If its uncomfy for you, good. Avoiding discomfort is bad, with exceptions ofc.
could you do a video that relates on smoothness? i just realized, that i aim way more consisten and more successfull, when i focus on the smoothness and speed of my hand movement. During the last months i tried to improve by aiming faster and faster and couldnt manage anything and just got worse and worse...now i stick to the speed im able to control at and it works so much better
Of course. When you take your time to aim (in situations it allows) it will allow you to be a lot more accurate. When I’m playing window maker 12 player ffa I hardly ever panic and half the time stand still the whole time shooting at someone because they will panic and try to super quickly flick onto my head which most often combined with their erratic movement makes them miss me standing still. Yet when I shoot I get my crosshair to roughly the same spot (I like it off her body a little right about at her belly button) then I flick up and to the right to shoot. That’s the technique I’ve learnt while playing windowmaker in overwatch and it’s the style of aim I use while battle at close range with a wingman in apex legends.
I've been experimenting with a few different things since watching your series, but something occurred to me during. I'm a guitarist, and my picking hand is also my mouse hand; when learning picking technique, you learn to relax and pivot from your wrist, not your elbow. This greatly improves your ability to control superfast but finite picking motions that come with sweeps and alternate picking where string changes and palm mutes on the unplayed strings come into play. I remembered that, started trying to aim more with my wrist, had to up sens just a bit, and feel like I have improved immensely as a result. Any other gamer guitarists on here that this occurred to??
For sure. Im a touring guitarist and play a lot of progressive metal. Lots of sweeps and alternate picking. I switched to mouse from controller a short time ago and it was really tough. I realized I had a death grip on the mouse, way too much tension, and too much movement from the elbow. I started looking at it like my picking hand and now I'm relaxed and able to make movements more cleanly. 100% more control. I already have a ridiculous pick hand and now my aim is getting there as well!
@@BigSkinnySlimm no one at the moment thanks to this covid shite ha! I gave you a follow on your channel. You can shoot me a message sometime and we can play some warzone, rocket league or talk guitar, brotha

I highly recommend Just finding a verry comfortable position to rest your entire arm!
this honestly helped quite a lot i almost subconsciously did it but sometimes i would use my whole arm unnecessarily for short flicks which hindered my flick accuracy in aim lab.
I got a bad shoulder from forearm aiming because I had a fucked up posture for the past 3 years. Now building muscle and trying out a new aiming style and better posture, have to say that aiming with my arm actually made my shoulder, arm and wrist tense up subconsciously (didn't know it untill someone said it). So I guess if you aim with your wrist, don't play 9 hours straight and don't tense up, everything should be alright
I was trying to remove this habit of wrist aiming because it was apparently bad for your wrist if you do it too much. Then I changed my desk and chair. Now my arm rests perfectly in the table and I've never felt better
the secret to accurate aim is a loosen up forearm and a tightly grabbed mouse, i aim more accurate when i leave my little finge slightly sliding above the mousepad when moving the mouse, it makes you stop the mouse more accurate when flicking fast, that’s my view
finding the comfort zone is still a mystery to me, right now I use both wrist and arm movement to take the crosshair anywhere needed, and for micro flicks ofcourse wrist flicking. I used to always keep my elbow and wrist on the table relaxed. now I lift them anytime I need to. this was difficult at the beginning but I'm used to it now. the most required thing is to pre aim to be fast.
Sometimes if you flick to the right side with the front mouse moving is hard, so what I do is my wrist moves left but the front of the mouse stays, it still goes right but easier and you just need to get used to it :) I hope this will help you too
You can tell someone how to play like I use to do years ago. But it still all comes down to how fast are you at aiming is key. Out aiming quick scopes players is easy if you no how. Get your aim down first then work on adding extra keyboard moves Prone , , crouching , jumping , moving , left , right , back , forth , sliding. Get a good mouse and use a good mouse pad. A mouse and mouse pad is just as important as a video card to play video games. I got video me 1v6 a team. Sorry for bad english I think it's understandable.
That's partially what this video is trying to help a gamer achieve. First, you find your standard "cone" with your standard full flick of the wrist, as the video shows. Then, with consistent, regular practice, and with a consistent mouse sensitivity across games, you'll be able to know exactly where your crosshair will end up in any game with your standard flick, and you work your way down from that standard distance to shorter and shorter distances. So, it's a matter of repetition and practice from your standard flick downward.
Please I really need your answer on this question: You said I should anchor my wrist for wrist flicking. I do this and gives good results. But Shroud and n0thing use their arm for bigger movement. Then how to move arm when wrist is anchored? Won't that generate high friction that can make aim stumbly and give heat and sweating?

I'd have thought this would have been a little better ergonomically as it keeps my wrist straighter, but there's only a few mm difference so I might try anchoring my wrist in future to see if my flick consistency improves.
i have a dislocated wrist i feel down a tree so me i don't do wrist, i worked hard on how i should control it with only my arm i was experimenting stuff and i thought to myself why not use my pinky finger as an anchor so i did and i use it as an anchor basically like a wrist and i can micro adjust pretty well and got better with it. i get 22-30 in a good day sometimes higher and 14-20 in some bad day (csgo, valo) so if you have a dislocated or a bad wrist some shit don't give up try my technique if you want, if u cant get used to it experiment what comfortable for you find it
The thing is, my sens is high enough that when I flick with my wrist max distance, my crosshairs moves more than 90 degrees, I even use fingers for aiming sometimes, do you happen to know if there is any negatives of using fingers to aim?
ReapHavocPtD I’m currently playing fortnite at 120 edpi, because I can’t afford a good mouse pad and chair, or table , so having highs sens allows me to not use too much space
@@newheights4782 Why don't you wait until you can afford those things makes aiming more comftwrble I feel like overtime your hand would get tired and give up on you which isnt good.
ReapHavocPtD sorry I didn’t explain correctly, my mouse is fine, it’s really comfortable actually for a $20 mouse, but it’s fine, I have been trying to use more of my arm lately, because when I aimtrain, I can’t aim down with my fingers, so using my arm is better; even on high sens

The thing is, my sens is high enough that when I flick with my wrist max distance, my crosshairs moves more than 90 degrees, I even use fingers for aiming sometimes, do you happen to know if there is any negatives of using fingers to aim?
@@newheights4782 No but also what is your sens you might want to lower it the whole wrist movement and arms movement i the basics of aiming
