    Those jitters as he rounds corners are most likely caused by friction, as kinetic friction always has a lower coefficient then static friction there's a range of speeds where if you try and move your mouse that speed without breaking static friction first it won't move, then move faster than you want it to, then come to a complete stop again. It's super visible in my aim when I use a cloth pad or when my hardpad gets dirty (also the main reason I switched to a hardpad) on my higher sens (3x1600 source/quake).

      Great point. Some cloth pads have higher initial friction due to the fibers sticking up higher and conflicting weave patterns, where as others are easier with flattened fibers and slicker material and weave patterns

      This is an excellent point. Another of the greatest very high sens snipers, the Korean player Pine, who played TF2 and Overwatch professionally at around 18cm/360, uses a very low friction glass pad (Maxtill G-Pad) for this reason.

    I feel like everyone’s initial play style is wrist because it’s the natural way you operate a computer, so seeing someone play wrist is a lot more relatable. Literally every casual player I know plays wrist, so as a new player it’s not as apparent why or how to play from your elbow in big sweeping motions.

    Used to play on 2400 dpi in most fps games but the biggest problem was if i panicked and moved my mouse it would go too far, now its around 1500 but it alternates from game to game depending on how it feels. You have to be able to make micro hand adjustments and depending on how low you play, sometimes lift up your mouse. I believe the majority of wrist aimers/high sens players have their hand completely or near completely flat on the mouse bc it allows for more surface contact so its easier to make adjustments. For wrist aimers you dont necessarily have to move your mouse straight sideways. You can also move your mouse on angles, so either left or right slanting downwards and moving it this specific way allows the mouse to move less because of a simpler wrist movement with less travel.

  • @Poppaai
    @Poppaai 4 ปีที่แล้ว +107

    sensitivity is insane high for an game where your enemy is 80% in front of you (or else your game sense sucks)
    but it also looks very comfy to walk around with an higher sense, an advantage with higher sensitivity is that you are quicker (duuh) but gives you more time to compensate and re-adjust your aim! you should also look at Relaaa (former bf4 pro) he is also a high sense gamer.

    I've been trying to play with a very high sens(16cm/360) recently and trust me it's a pain in the ass. It's very hurtful for my wrist and not so much worth it. I have a higher chance of whiffing when playing at such high sens so i dialed it back to 34cm/360(width of my mousepad -about 300 eDpi in valorant) and it feels pretty good. • @sEaNoYeAh
    @sEaNoYeAh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing I think should be emphasised is just how precise he needs to be to play with this sensitivity. It's ~16cm for a 360, compare that to Niko's ~74cm/360. Woxic requires a drastically higher degree of real world precision to execute the same shots, a low sens gives Niko a relatively very large margin for error where his hand doesn't need to be anywhere near as accurate.
    Woxic gains the benefits of high speed, covering large angles, and strong mobility (especially while scoped) at the trade-off of needing more precision (thus making shots harder), and more uniquely to his choice of technique doesn't have intuitive vertical cursor movement. Niko gains the benefit of large margin for error physically (boosting consistency), at the trade-off of slow turning and smaller angles possibly covered, requiring more arm speed to be competitive. He makes up for much of this through superlative game sense.
    Two remarkable players mechanically for very different reasons, and absolute proof that sensitivity selection is about what's right for you based on your technique and your personal strengths and weaknesses. All things being equal however a high sens, if you can master it, has strengths. If you can physically bring the real world precision movement of the mouse necessary to achieve accuracy in game, you gain so many inherent advantages. Consider this, Niko has to move his mouse 4.6 times faster than Woxic to achieve the same in game crosshair movement speed. That's a big part of why Woxic's flicks can be so breathtakingly instant.

      Big this. A lot of the topics on this channel are applicable to not just CSGO, but all FPS, and to lesser extent _all_ competitive games, the primary audience might be CSGO players, but a lot of other people watch this channel too. "ePDI" is not only game specific, it's just in general a misleading metric that doesn't translate well across different personalized settings and to some extent even different hardware. cm/rev is a good universal metric that works across games (assuming it's a 3d space with 3 degrees of motion attached to the mouse) and different hardware and software setups.

    • @Fliptheonly
      @Fliptheonly 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cm/360 seems very archaic. As a csgo Player it literally tells me nothing, because nobody except maybe woxic could even 360 without using his entire mousepad twice. And "dpi" is literally the metric that the Mouse manufacturers use. Your shitty games should just allow proper raw input configurations. I'm not going to use measuring tape to set up my Mouse with a 10% error margin, wtf.

    • @VioletSpaceship
      @VioletSpaceship 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Fliptheonly There are plenty of websites that allow you to calculate your cm/360. People don't use measuring tapes... Also it is not about raw input, different games just scales differently, CSGO has a sensitivity setting meaning it is not raw input either.

    • @VioletSpaceship
      @VioletSpaceship 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fliptheonly DPI is the same for every game, EDPI Changes because of the different values in game.

    • @SaltyMaud
      @SaltyMaud 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fliptheonly I think you're confused. Raw input has nothing to do with the speed of your camera rotation, enabling raw input merely changes the method of mouse movement data acquisition from reading windows pointer movement events to reading mouse input data. This is good, yes, decouples your mouse ingame from your windows pointer speed and acceleration settings (if you have adjusted them) and allows your game to get mouse data at its polling rate, but it has nothing to strictly do with the speed of your camera rotation. What comes to "shitty games", many "shitty games" don't give you a raw input option _because they don't even give you an option to play without it._
      CPI (erroneously referred to as DPI) is a measurement of the number of individual counts of movement ("dots") the sensor is capable of resolving within a inch of linear travel. First of all the state of rotation around the 3 axis of a 3d camera is not measured in "dots", and doubling your ingame sensitivity doesn't double the resolution of your sensor, but makes the output twice as coarse. Even "effective sensitivity" makes more sense than "effective DPI", but even so, it's still game specific because different games use different arbitrary values for their sensitivity settings and corresponding turn angles.
      If you know your CPI and the precise turn angle of your game at your settings, you can calculate your cm/rev. That's what the online calculators do, but this approach is inherently inaccurate because the implementation of the sensor on your mouse and how it plays with your tracking surface has some effect on the tracking characteristics. Still, you can calculate a good enough ballpark estimation. Same unknown variables apply eDPI too if that's not obvious, bit ironic that you'd consider that to be more accurate. Measuring the true cm/rev can be a bit crude, i guess, but it's the only way to get true results that also are directly comparable across different games. If your mousepad isn't large enough for a full revolution, i'm sure you can figure out a way to extrapolate the results you're able to get.

    Hey Ron right now I’m playing at 0.8 sens @ 800 dpi with a palm/fingertip grip. I have really long, bony fingers and around December I switched 1 to 0.8 sens and from claw grip to palm grip after 2 or so years and, while my aim has improved exponentially, I’m starting to experience some really gnarly pain in the joints of fingers.
    When I play I sit with my elbows and knees at a 90 degree angle with my back against the back of chair so I don’t think it’s postural, but with having a background in music I’m also extremely focused on smooth, relaxed movements that put as little stress on the body as possible, meaning that I also don’t think its caused by poor/tense technique. Do you know what might be causing this? It never really happened when I played claw so I’m thinking there might be something wrong with my palm grip. As of right now I’ve tried the following mice to see if they’ll alleviate some of the pain but none have made much, if any difference at all:
    Glorious model D (current)
    Zowie ec1-A
    Logitech G903 ( not palm-friendly for me)
    Razer Deathadder Chroma
    Anyway if you or anyone else has some insight on how to adjust my technique to avoid this please let me know. Thanks

    • @sEaNoYeAh
      @sEaNoYeAh 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the pain is in the joints in your fingers you're almost certainly either gripping too tight, or using a mouse that's too narrow for your hand size causing cramp. Palm grip usually your fingers will be pretty relaxed, it's why most people usually naturally start with a palm grip.
      To begin with try playing casually with a deliberately loose grip so to see if you get the same symptoms. Obviously not so loose that you can't keep hold of the mouse, but really focus on keeping your fingers from tensing up.
      If you still get joint pain with a loose grip then maybe the mouse is too narrow forcing your fingers into an unnatural position for your hand size. I'd also note that all the mice you mentioned are ergo mice. While ergonomic mice are often described by players as being for palm grip this is generally untrue. The Zowie EC shape for example is designed more with wrist aim in mind, it even says this on their website if you look up the EC models. The Model D is the same being an EC clone. The back of the mouse is designed to allow a stable wrist position and the sloping angle gives you more wrist rotation distance while maintaining a healtier wrist position. A flatter hand position can't safely turn the wrist as much as a less rotated forearm can.
      With this in mind if all else fails I'd recommend trying an ambidextrous mouse, something like the Endgame Gear XM1 or Zowie S. Specifically for an arm aim technique and with your particular issue this might suit you better.

      So for a bit of background I'm a former amatuer Team Fortress 2 pro player (Flowerbud) and I used to use very very high sensitivity (around 1600 to 3200 dpi with 6 sensitivity), it's still pretty high even when I made the switch to CS GO (800 dpi with 3.09 sensitivity and 1 zoom sensitivity)
      The reason high sensitivity players are used to it other than just using it alot is because we do alot of flicks, which makes our aim and camera movement look a lot more static and snappy instead of being smooth like low sensitivity players, we do this so we don't tire out for no reason, we also tend not to do alot of tracking movements which would wear us out alot since we dont use our arm very much
      Also alot of just shaking around your hand after a session lol

      The whole wrist aim is harmful thing is a myth that comes from habits. Bad habits will lead to damage from any aim style. Wrist aimers must not over aim, they must keep their wrist within a health angle, and they absolutely should stretch and have good posture. Then they'll be fine.
      Plenty of low sens players have equally gotten carpal tunnel from bad mouse grip, and getting tennis elbow or similar from arm aim is not that uncommon.
      Gamers, stretch, take breaks, maintain good hydration, stop if any discomfort and change your technique or give yourself time to heal. If you ever get pain you've been bad and should have stopped, so now it's time to stop completely until the pain goes away.

    But doesn't high sensitivity lack in precise headshot and vertical flick execution?
    Plus you can't really pull below the point where the mouse touches the bottom of your palm because of the "wrist grip".

    • @treatz620
      @treatz620 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most headshots in CS are mostly an extent of crosshair placement, what you trade off for in "flick accuracy" you get sevenfold in the other aspects of aiming.
      No high sensitivity does not lack in "vertical flick execution" it is just like flicking side to side, and in fact can sometimes be more precise than low sens because you dont have to fuck around with your arm in an unnatural way to get it to push the mouse up.

      @@treatz620 So, High sensitivity means much better aim and precision? But doesn't low sensitivity stand out for it's much better aim accuracy and precise shots? and in fact, it develops much better muscle memory.
      Speaking of other games such as PUBG (for example) where sniping requires very minute and precise movement to get those distance headshots, is where low sensitivity plays a vital role.
      True that Higher Sensitivity can be much easier for recoil control but when it comes to long-distance (micro-movement) shots, it's not that efficient comparatively.
      Thanks for the reply! 😎👍

      @@notmfi higher sens doesn't make recoil easier to control, easy recoil makes recoil easier to control.
      "But doesn't low sensitivity stand out for it's much better aim accuracy" I literally said that in my original comment, low sensitivity is good for flicking and "minute details".
      Low sensitivity doesn't "develop better muscle memory" idk where you got that idea or even why you'd think that, all muscle memory is the same, it's the way you practice that will hurt you or help you.
      Compared to long distance shots where the pixel matters high sensitivity for the most part still holds up on it's own and will perform better under tracking based scenario's and is overall better for quick but small adjustments once you learn to control it.
      When are you going to be getting distance headshots with either type of sensitivity? as I recall most headshots at range if your not pre-aimed for the head are 100% luck.

      @@notmfi You should not compare CS to pubg. Pubg has a different aspect on aiming and high sens is very common on pubg unlike csgo lower sens is better because of the closed space

    • @notmfi
      @notmfi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@treatz620 Treatz Firstly, Higher sensitivity (higher DPI) will surely make Recoil Control much more easier. Think of this, if you have low DPI (say 400) so, you have to pull down your mouse longer whereas when you have DPI (like 1600) where the mouse pull is very much less comparitively.
      Secondly, Yes! Low sensitivity will help in having much better muscle memory (it's not an idea but indeed a fact).
      Muscle memory is obviously the same for either of the sensitivity but low sense will help develop it much more efficient.
      Lastly, the distance headshot topic is of PUBG where sniping requires macro movements and adjustments.
      Here if you have higher sensitivity you can't adjust for the headshot easily as even a small wrong mouse movement will make a huge difference.
      BTW thanks for the replies! 😎👍

    Anyone ever heard of a thing called elbow and arm aiming
    Like a literally hold ur elbow locked in air and move with ur arm mainly and small moments with wrist I feel like it gives a better reaction than the arm aimers cuz there is no friction between ur arm and the table
    Am I the only one using it or is it called something else? (It's highly inconsistent imo)
