I'm looking for a way to prohibit the download of a Word doc embedded into a web page. Does anyone have a solution?

I wonder if there would be a way to pass in a parameter to a cell from the web browser session, like a session ID or a session cookie... That way I could create a custom report for the loged in user.

Good idea, it’s something beyond my web skills but sounds great!

    can it get bigger ratio?

The embed code looks like this, so if you change the numbers in width and height then you will get a bigger embed.

Hi, thanks for the great video. It helped me a lot. Any idea, how to get rid of those two buttons at the bottom of Excel embeded window.

Wish it was possible but I don’t think it is sadly

Interesting suggestion, thanks. However, I am having a similar problem that I had embedding into a Wordpress page, that it won't show the full width of my sheet. Do you know why it might not show the full width? Within my slicer settings are disabled?

when I choose the "accessibility view" it then shows the full page how I would like it. Saying that is there an option to default that view, other question, can you default the accessibility view into a wordpress embed?

Not sure about that sorry, you can custom edit the html code & change dimensions though, that might help

Hi it works for free with the file saved to a personal onedrive account

I was using awsome table, its asking to purchase the product?

    • @learnspreadsheets

I’m not familiar with this product sorry, excel allows a free embed if you save it on onedrive personal as does Google sheets

Hi David. Great info shared, saved me a lot of time.
Do you have any idea how can we embed a file with an add-in (Bing maps). I keep getting the following error (below). Any workaround? Many thanks
This add-in has been blocked to protect your data. You can continue using the add-in by saving a copy of this document to your computer.

Hiya sorry I don’t know, it was never a very developed technology so I’m not too surprised that it’s hard to get it working just right. Sorry, try embedding the map separately to the spreadsheet maybe?

Thanks a lot for this amazing video, but when I share Sway link with other people to see my dashboards in it, then It doesn't show the dashboard of the Excel. Please tell us what is the reason.

The files mist be saved on a personal OneDrive (even a free account is OK). If you try work with SharePoint or even OneDrive for business then they get prompted for sign in and the embed code only works with people inside your organisation. Perhaps that is why, otherwise make sure you share the personal OneDrive files publicly. I hope that helps!

We embedded in a similar fashion but for some reason the Filter and Sorting Functionality is not working. any clue on what we might be doing wrong?

@@learnspreadsheets yes we have abandoned it. We are using Excel API to achieve this

Brilliant tutorial. One thing I can't figure out though - it does not seem to sync changes made in the Excel file to the embedded view? I have to redo the entire embed process as soon as some data is changed! What am I missing?

I can now answer my own question - it does update, but the lag is frustrating, takes several minutes to react.

This is great but believe there's no way for a user to "save" their progress and come back to it later? Thanks

      Yes correct they cannot unfortunately

    • @learnspreadsheets

They can download their own version of the files though and work on it there

@@learnspreadsheets Hello David, thank you for this wonderful tutorial. Has there been an update since you made this video about if users can make changes to the excel file directly in the embedded view? Thank you in advance!

Hello! I want to know if the users can save any change in the embedded sheet.
