Very informative video. Thank you very much. While I tried to do this, the option of interactivity is not showing in the box ? How could I get it ? Kindly guide me
Hi Jerry - Yes, beginning with Excel 2007, it is not longer to select "Publish as an Interactive Worksheet." So, unless you have an (expensive) server available, the only possibility is to save the worksheet to your Windows SkyDrive. In fact, in Excel 2013 to be released soon, the default setting for all new workbooks is to "Save to SkyDrive!" Yikes! Danny Rocks The Company Rocks
Hello Jonathan since this is your reply from 6 months ago could you comment also a little on the comments about the excel versions that will work with 'html conversion' and newer browsers ? Otherwise this video is a little silly in 2018 when its only working with IE. Thanks
@wandilly Thank you for sending me a personal message. I responded with a link to my SkyDrive at Windows Live where I store the Public Excel Worksheets that I have created for my TH-cam Tutorials. Once there, you can Open, Save or Forward these Workbooks to a friend or colleague. Danny Rocks The Company Rocks
Will the excel file do calculations online as well i.e. calculate based on data within the file? Secondly if the file size is 80mb, will the file work online?

hi danny, i understand that with excel 2007 and above the feature for interactive editing is deprecated and you recommend to use skydrive instead. I have a requirement where i cannot upload my worksheet to intranet for obvious security policies and intent them to publish only in the intranet. can this be achieved?

Hi, I have Excel 97 to 2003 On My Pc I want to Convert Excel With Formula Into A Webpage , Where My Customer Can Go And Use This Sheet. I Tried Google Docs And Microsoft Cloud Already But I Am Not Satisfied With The Interface As Its Unfriendly To Use On Cell Phone Please Show Me An Alternative .. Thx
Using MS OfficeXP, I get an error "To use this web page interactively, you must have Microsoft IE 4.01 SP! or later and the MS Office Web Components." But I do. What is wrong here?
@KellyAnne88kj Hello - This has been a problem starting with Excel 2007 and continuing with Excel 2010. As you may know, those file fomats changed and Excel no longer offers the "Publish as Interactive Webpage" option. I finally figured out how to do this for Excel 2007 and 2010. I have now started to store copies of my workbooks and documents in a "Shared SkyDrive" on the MS Live.com soace - in "the cloud." Go to my website (TheCompanyRocks) and I have a recent posting about this topic.
When I put my excel document online my check boxes vanish, do you know exactly why that is and how I would be able to bring those back? Thanks in advance for any help on this.
this is BAD SHEET ... REALLY no, I'm not talking about the fact that office 2003 is no more, I'm talking about the fact that IS WORKING *ONLY* WITH INTERNET EXPLORER *AND OFFICE 2003 EXTENSION* TO SEE THE RESULTED PAGE, in other word, "publish" for 0.0000000001% of the ppl with office 2003 web extensions, that's almost NO ONE ... TURN THE POWER ON DUDE !!!!!!
Upload the exported HTML and associated files to your hosting server. This video addressed what was supposed to be addressed - just because you don't understand its purpose is no need to slander somebody else's (correct) work.
I wondered why Danny wasn't responding. It turns out that he has a good excuse: He passed away in 2014. To find his obituary do a web search (no quote marks) for: danny rocks obituary music industry loses one of its finest
I have excel 2007 for windows, and excel 2011 for mac but neither has this marvellous little checkbox "add interactivity". So i bought microsoft office 2016 to get the very latest version of excel and, guess what, no interactive checkbox. Here is a link to the microsoft help page where many others ask the same question answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/missing-add-interactivity-when-saving-excel/ebf6cca3-c03b-4ece-bb82-232e6ce92c2c The only answer microsoft guy gives is " Please provide us more information to help you better. 1.What do you mean by "Add Interactivity" box?" Well i guess she means the little box you can see above at 0.34 of Danny's excellent video. Without which nothing works. And of course its impossible to buy microsoft excel 2011 now. So how to publish an excel workbook as interactive webpage using excel 2016?
Thumbs up just for the way he says "I'm Danny Rocks" - he sure does
I don't seem to have the "add interactivity" selections box .. alternative?

How old is your mouse
That's a sound generated by the presentation software so the viewer knows exactly when he's clicking. It's not an old mouse lol.

The steps are great, but MS Excel has change the options in different versions.
Brilliant video mate. That mouse click is very distracting though.
Very useful😁

Danny,
I'm trying to take a working Excel workbook and post it on our sharepoint 2010. How could this be done?
Gehrig
If you look at the icons, this is a version before xl2007.
Can users add info to the spreadsheet or just manipulate the spreadsheet? How do I stop people from "stealing" my spreadsheet?
Does anyone have an update on this process in our day and age of 2018?

Where do you put the URL you want to publish it?
Can you update it to excel 2010?
Anyone figured out how to get this to work in excel 2007 or greater?
Hey Danny, What version Excel are you using? My 2010 hasn't got all those options

Please change your title to say the Excel version. Thank you. Good video.
Well done but question? When it connects to web, where does the spreadsheet actually get saved?
what should i enter for a search keyword?
How can you do this with Microsoft 2010 without using Skydrive?
@jjfash83
Unfortunately, you cannot - unless you have a server with file sharing. The SkyDrive is actually easy to use.
