I know that this video was made a year ago, but I just want to say that this was the absolute perfect instructional video I’ve ever seen! Concise, clearly explained and the video was perfectly shot. I was going to go with Perrin for my AOS, but I plan on getting it from you guess solely based off this video. You even remembered to tell people to cut off the tail of the zip ties! Great job. (And I never comment on TH-cam videos either. lol) LUUUUUBE!
Installed my AOS last night on my 21 wrx. I was surprised as someone else was with the leftover hose at the end. The only tip i would recommend is that removing the EGR tube is a MUST!! Its damn near impossible to get access back there for the pcv valve. I ended up having to remove the tube a second time to regain access to seat the 90° hose and clamp onto the pcv valve. Bleeding the coolant was a bit of a pain, very hard to see with the wiring harness there to see if the coolant is coming out or not
Dear God, this looks SO MUCH EASIER to do than the EJ on the '21 STi. That thing was a nightmare. I just traded my '21 STi in for a '21 WRX Premium. This will be the first mod I buy and install.
@@LSTeg1994 Financial. I took a previous job back that paid $20k less. I couldn't handle the new job mentally because my org just threw me to the wolves with no training.
Thanks, IAG for this detailed video. Just did the install on my 2020 WRX and was able to do it (mostly) stress-free, with the exception of the re-install of the charge pipe, which is a pita. I was a little surprised to find an extra hose in the box after the install, but some research revealed it was not needed for my year of WRX. Thanks for including plenty of hose clamps in the box since one of them was damaged. The hose clamp pliers are highly recommended, they really make the job much easier! Mounting the can was a little challenging since it gets really tight in that passenger side corner with all the cables, but I was able to make it fit.
@@parkershelp6428 Probably 2-3 hours and I really took my time to do it right and neatly and checked every step multiple times. Like so many other people I wish I had done this earlier.
Hey IAG! I’m just curious on the crankbreather hose Cobb says to plug it in the top, and plug off the bottom, I was curious if you knew which one is right?
Just wanted to 1. Shout out to IAG for the awesome video. 2. If any of you have a charge pipe I recommend using the other hose that came with a kit to replace the coolant hose from the top connector so it has enough room and doesn’t kink next to the charge pipe.
Great install video, I wish some of my parts from other companies had this comprehensive of installation instructions. Maxton design had literally 2 sentences for their products.
These instructions apply to the 14-18 FXT, right? What does everyone recommend doing at the same time of this installation? Bypass valve, charge pipe, intercooler, heat wrap for the latter two, radiator fan, anything else?
Good install video, my only question is did this guy just ride 100 miles on horseback? Not sure the stiff legged wide stance???? Luckily he stayed off camera for most of the time
Ok real question. The kit I got is the newer quick connection. Can I follow this step by step? It’s essentially the same minus the need for all the hose clamps right? Gonna tackle it this weekend
A lot of key info left out that would be helpful. Their recommended bracket position to the can for VA's caused mine to ride. Good thing they are a lot of different positions to use. Would have been really helpful to note that eyeing up the coolant hose to the turbo to keep in mind how it routes once the charge pipe gets re-installed.
Really informative and dummy proof. I want to get one of these for engine health but by golly that is a ton of work and parts coming off. I had a night mare installing the Cobb shifter plate and intake so this gives me anxiety that I’d break something or not torque it down all the way. I will say that if/when I pull the trigger on a downpipe and upgraded charge pipe and intercooler, I’ll likely do this since I’m down there anyway.
I have been looking for days for a good torque wrench, can someone recommend an inexpensive one? one that can do small jobs like this one and some other bigger ones.
Hey I followed everything here but just wondering why do I have extra hose with a 90 degree fitting In it that I didn’t see from here? Any idea about that?
You can leave wiring harness in the same place since it is basically supported by the AOS mounting bracket. Or you can tuck and ziptie the harnesses behind the AOS can if you want a little bit of a cleaner look.
@Jim Matusky turbo seal where about that? Would you please send a picture here or any diagrams that turbo seal always prone on leak? Pls pls and thank you
You can start with some simple bolt-ons and learn to do those yourself, but if you plan to get into the engine we recommend using a professional mechanic.
Coolant should come out by the time the vehicle has reached operating temperature. If it doesn't you may need to check your coolant level and add some.
@@theiagchannel thanks for the quick reply! I just found that I have an obsolete model. ENG-7151. Apparently, it has no bleed screw. The screw I released was just a part of the frame lol.
What’s the difference between 16 wrx and 18 wrx. I’m gonna install this over the weekend in my car and I have a 16. And the best install video I’ve seen is from you guys
The main difference is just the relocation of the ECU in the engine compartment. If you follow the pdf instructions on our site along with this video you shouldn't have any problems.
When you installed this V3 version the car must go to tuned (Cobb ap) I mean retuned because of AOS. Would you please educated me on this concern of mind. OR no need to tuned via Cobb ap. Thank you in advance to anyone can educate me on this..
@@theiagchannelits me again after 2 years. Now I found out that most of the time there is oil in my intercooler pipe's upper part near the intercooler. Now this oil was normal? Or some other says oil vapour. Is there something wrong? Do I need to know installed back the pcv valve like a newer video? This makes me bother a lot.
@@SGQ12 The AOS is designed to allow oil suspended in the PCV system to drop out of the system under normal operation. With that being said, if you engine is exhibiting a large amount of oil in the PCV system you may have other issues. Depending on mileage, driving style, power output, etc, your engine may have more oil being put into the PCV system. It's also possible you are having an issue with your turbo that's allowing oil to get into your intake. We would recommend having your vehicle evaluated by your mechanic to ensure that your engine is healthy. The AOS does a great job of separating the oil from a properly functioning system.
