I can explain it to you. The Yankees are awful in fundamental plays while the Dodgers are quite good at that. That's all, Cole leaves his arm on the game and the team just threw those games away.
One concern I have about the next year for the Dodgers, there is something about having to make the best of the limits placed upon you that brings out the best in an organization. I've seen this with movies that were filmed when special effects were expensive, and I think the same thing happened with the Dodgers this year: Because a ton of players, especially pitchers, were out with injuries, Doc was forced to come up with strategies that maximized the effectiveness of the roster. I really hope that Doc doesn't try to go back to the 6 to 7 inning start just because he now has a bunch of starters in the rotation, rather I hope he thinks outside the box so he finds that ideal balance between competitive pitching and preventing injury. Maybe what AJ Hinch is doing over at Detroit should be a consideration, have the pitchers give their best 3 innings, then tag out, keep the other team's offense guessing. When Detroit traded Jack Flaherty to the Dodgers, their pitching staff was a ragtag group of relievers and maybe a couple of starters, but nothing a baseball analyst would consider competitive. But with this strategy, the Tigers ended up playing the Guardians in the division series.
It’s so rare to see baseball media not hate on the dodgers with the Chris russos of the world and some of the guys at mlb network but foul territory has always kept it fair and shown love
He did do a great job, I don't like Cole but he really pitched well, one mental mistake will cost you every player knows that.
