    Honestly the thing in my mind that cemented that the dodgers were gonna win this series was game 2 or 3, Freddie hits the most routine double play ball of all time and runs his ass off to first to make it a fielders choice. In that moment I was just convinced no one on the Yankees was going to try that hard. To have your first baseman, a week removed from not being able to jog essentially, bust down the line to save an out and get the next guy up is a championship play.
    Then game 5 inning 5 you see Mookie give the same exact effort. I don’t think a single Yankee runs out of the box as hard as Mookie did on a routine grounder to first. Those are hall of fame guys with nothing to prove that just want to win and do everything possible to make that happen. Kudos to them, not a fan but definitely not a hater and they earned it.

    • @vinnyl264
      @vinnyl264 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I mean you have Freddie running like his depended on it every play, you have Shohei playing with a separated shoulder, you have guys like Honeywell basically sacrificing his pride to throw 50 pitches in an inning just so some guys can get a rest and be ready for the next game (he did this in the Mets series too) and you can see the difference between the Dodgers and Yankees

    11:58 honestly your out of your damn mind,,, thats 110% on cole,,, i know you dont want to say that tho cuz cole is a perennial CY young contender and Rizzo has one foot in retirement. But whether or not Rizzo misplayed the ball, or he overran it, or sat back on it, whether it had crazy spin that took rizzo away from 1st, whether rizzo was nervous, whether Rizzo could have or should have taken the ball to first himself, cole has no reason whatsoever for not covering the bag, you have to be there not just because its fundamentals, but because your part of the team,and you have to be there to help your teammates out,, anything else is being a diva.....This is exceptionally annoying to people who play football, hockey, basketball, and soccer,, because there are times where you dont make the play you should because you are simply too tired and have a lapse in will or concentration, or effort, but cole has been standing on a hill for 2 hours he doesnt even get that excuse......AT BEST i can say cole misread Rizzo, at worst i can say Cole is used to striking people out and not having to do anything else but watch his clips on pitching ninja and look at the zeros in his bank account,,

      @panner11 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah he could've at least gone with what Cole said postgame. It would be some sort of defense at least. But instead he just tries to go after Rizzo and doesn't make any argument to excuse Cole but just keeps saying it's on Rizzo.

    I don’t know if the Padres go on to beat the Mets or the Yankees, TBH. The other time they managed to beat the Dodgers in the NLDS, they kind of emptied the tank and ran right into that buzzsaw “Red October” Phillies club, and I think something similar would’ve happened with the Mets. The Dodgers out-pitched the Padres to close that series, but they basically steamrolled the Mets offensively, and I think that may have been the only way to suppress those guys, given the run they were on. Padres-Mets would’ve been an entertaining series, but I don’t think the Mets would’ve had as much trouble with them as they did with the Dodgers. Then you get to the Yankees, and with all due respect to the Padres, I think that’s maybe a Yankees in 5 situation. The core of this Padres team has yet to prove that they can really tough it out against those rowdy East Coast clubs and their fans on the road. Interested to see what happens next year, but that’s my take.

    People will argue forever about whether it was rizzos fault or Cole’s, or judges drop or volpes blunder that caused the inning to happen, the truth is it was all of those things, but the difference is, dropping a ball, making a bad throw, not charging the ball, rhose r all physical mishaps that can happen to anyone at any time, although it shouldn’t, but the Cole one is just inexcusable.. not covering first is just something that should never happen.. and I, just like everyone, though rizzo would scoop and step on first, but if ur Cole u still have to be there just in case … I’m still baffled by what I witnessed last night lol I’m not mad I’m not even upset, just totally baffled .. there’s always next year I guess, maybe…the whole thing was like divine intervention lol

I know you guys don't agree with what happened you guy just reacted in real time. The Dodger fan base has been criticized so much for much less than what the Yankee fans did this series. And for the fan base/media to praise these guys is insane and makes it easy to root against the Yankees. I think the criticism towards you guys valid but not the hate. 22:00 So true, it’s incredible how similar the careers of Lux and Volpe have been so far. Both were top three prospects in all of baseball. Both were picked in the late first round. And both struggled when they first got to the show. The Dodgers didn’t annoint him when he came up, it took him two years to break into being an every day guy. The Yankees just handed shortstop to Volpe
