It's definitely easy even for a casual fan in LA to get a Dodgers hat or shirt and represent. And they are everywhere right now, in all colors and styles. Lakers gear is a bit more limited, but the Dodgers hat has become as iconic as the Yankees hat. Also, Dodgers tickets are relatively cheap, so a lot more working class, especially Chicanos!, can go and be part of the fanbase. The Lakers games are really expensive, so it's an upper class team. Now with Ohtani the Japanese fans are crazy into it too. His mural in Little Tokyo is massive. It's a diverse city and everyone feels the love, fun and class coming from this team. MLB needs a salary cap. It's not fair to the fans in markets like Pittsburgh that they don't have a level playing field. It will make the sport better when every city has realistic hope.
We've got to give props to ownership and management. You can have the deepest pockets all you want but you don't stay on top by spending money alone. They have a vision, they have a strategy and then they execute. Money helps a lot of course but you can throw money away or you can spend wisely and that's what the Dodgers are doing. Management never panics. They could've fired Roberts a long time ago but they didn't. They kept their faith in him. They don't only have a lot of money and stars on their team but they have one of the mest farm systems. That's why if they can't spend they trade. This organization took it's first step to a dynasty.
The misunderstanding of how Ohtanis contract works is hilarious. He cost something like $46M against the cap this year which is much higher than a mediocre middle infielder lol. Basically baseball still says he's making the full amount, they just calculate what the present day value of the money he will be receiving will be ($70M in 2036 is around $45M today).
Hernandez baited Judge by making him think there was a chance of a double play on the fly out. Then Hernandez made it hard for Volpe by running an arc which makes it possible for the ball to accidentally hit Hernandez. It's not just two errors. Dodgers were both much smarter and hustled a lot more. Cole was running on fumes. I would have been shocked if he could sprint to first to make that out. The Dodgers were the better team. It wasn't just bad luck and bad plays on the Yankees.
Do people discount Tampa and their playoff run during 2020? What about Tom Brady and the Bucs? Alabama's title with a short season? Is every winner of 2020 not counted? If not, why just the Dodgers?
I mean when you buy all the best players, it’s a lot easier to win. Yes, they were resilient. Yea, they were gritty. Yes, they were talented. But let’s not act like this was some underdog story. When you have three MVPs in your lineup, yeah you should fucking win, man. They were the favorites at the beginning of the year.

Go Dodgers!!
THIS IS A DODGERS TOWN YOU WILL BY THE PARADE TOMORROW
Dodger dominance just began
the wheels were falling off the dodgers as the game was progressing and basically went with the "ramming speed" option by way of letting buehler be the closer. they were out of pitchers after treinen.
Thanks to the 2 NY goons who attacked M. Betts. You poked the bear and you got served on a silver patter. Sweet Revenge. Dodgers show they can't be stop. Awesome come back in one of best, if not the best world series ever.
Oh shut up they didn't light a fire under anyone. They're were 3 1 up already in the series

WORLD🤩CHAMPS💙🤍🔥🙌🏻⚾️🥂🏆🎃
The ghosts of Ebbets field were with them too last night.
Go to East LA and San Gabriel Valley and it is definitely Dodger town...
SGV Vato
@@cameltoeinspector6015 Ha! Now add Fountain Valley which will probably be renamed Freddie Freeman Valley...
LA is a Dodger Town, hands down! Scully, Koufax, Drysdale, LaSorda, Fernando..... LA loves the Lakers as well.
Thank you for being so Classy Rich which is more than I can say for some scumbags who flipped off and assaulted our boys in blue 💙 GO DODGERS
2020: DODGERS WON
2024: DODGERS BEAT THE YANKEES
Is the difference.
Ohtani's dirty. He knew and everyone knows he knew. The translator took the fall.
Buenos Dias L.A goooo fkn Dodgers!!!!!!
If there isn’t an asterisk on the 2017 championship then there shouldn’t be one on 2020
the dodgers are a great organization they know how to build winning championship teams top to bottom the Yankees don't. the dodgers have people that hit and pitch when it matters.
Cmon Rich, i know ur a Yankee fan but u live in LA and host your show here. U should know a thing or two about the Dodgers.
Walker Buehler is an UFA. I hope we can bring him back but he’s gonna cash in that well deserved check.
Gavin Stone had shoulder surgery and is gonna miss all of 2025.
Teoscar also an UFA. We have some big shoes to fill, hopefully we can bring back those 2 but i think we have a better chance at signing Teoscar
Congratulations to the Dodgers, but heartbreaking for the Yankees. Still, this is how baseball works. Next year may be better luck.
Yes some say so but this DOUBLES DOWN
Yeah it was his translator....it was him....probably didn't bet on baseball but it was him
The misunderstanding of how Ohtanis contract works is hilarious.
Although my team didn't make it i can say that was a great world series .
Do people discount Tampa and their playoff run during 2020? What about Tom Brady and the Bucs? Alabama's title with a short season? Is every winner of 2020 not counted? If not, why just the Dodgers?
Or the Lakers in 2020
Dodgers never relied on the superstars. Every player (and manager) did their part during the season, playoffs and WS.
Just my opinion as a lifelong resident: LA city is "Laker city." LA county is "Dodger town."
I remember Rich was all mad cus one of the players wasn’t wearing a mask and he had Covid during the 2020 celebration photo that’s when I lost respect for Rich because I realized he’s a puppet like the rest of these analyst 🤦🏽♂️🤮🤡
The Dodgers are the pride of the West Coast. Imagined if the Dodgers owners bought the Raiders? The Raiders would finally win.
Definitely a Dodgers town!
From a lifetime yankee fan…. CONGRATULATIONS to the Dodgers. Job well done well deserved!! We Yankees choked …choked !!!
I'm not an asterisk guy but I am a "they bought it" guy. Every year they literally sign the marquee free agent, my thing is, with them doing this literally the last 5 years, how do they NOT win the World Series????
Was having flashbacks to 4th grade little league watching the top of the fifth inning.
The New York Yankees' loss is one of the biggest collapses in a championship game, as is the case with the Atlanta Falcons' loss to the New England Patriots. Go Dodgers!!!
If roger maris has an asterisk, you bet 2020 with losing records making the playoffs, no crowd or limited, playing at a neutral site world series is 100% an asterisk.
Commentators and analysts wont say it, but it is.
End of the day, its also still in the record books, its still a title and im fine with that, but this felt 100x better for fans and players than 2020, there is no denying that by anyone
As a dodger fan, the bubble win had a asterisk, this win was important to solidify that win
Not anymore it doesn't.
You’re not a Dodger fan if you put an asterisk on it. Everyone played the shortened season. Montreal Expos 1994 WS champions* How’s that sound? (Best record on August 11).
@BingWrosby *the dodgers won a 60 games season!
Yeah, that your team couldn't win.
@@adriangarcia6090 that’s precisely where the shade comes from.
I think Shohei needs to bat clean-up in 2025, specially as a pitcher, the guy will need a breather after he opens a game at home 😂
Ohtani leaves the Angels and just doesn't go to the playoffs for the first time, but WINS THE WS!!!!!!
As in the 2017 Huston Asterisk’s cheating scandal, yea This Dodgers WS win is Sweeeeet.
It’s a Dodger town. Lakers close when Kobe and Showtime were here
I smell 3 more in the next 7 years
It's a Dodger Town!
Shohei is now the undisputed biggest star in the sport and you can argue he’s underpaid.
Striking about douchebag Verdugo to end it was just perfection, chef's kiss!
Kiss my asterisk. The Dodgers win!
Screw the Yankees and their fans. Their sadness warms my heart.
