Incredible video, Fishing 101 : Best fishing knots. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I hit the thumbs up icon on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! The additional technique you shared for the Palomar knot is a game-changer. Have you considered discussing the impact of different line types on knot performance in future videos?
Thank you so much, @KeyserTheRedBeard! I'm glad you found the video helpful, and I really appreciate the thumbs up! 😊 This modified Palomar knot is definitely a game-changer. Great suggestion on discussing line types-I'll definitely consider diving into how different lines (braid, mono, and fluoro) can affect knot strength and performance in a future video. Stay tuned for more, and thanks again for the support! 🎣👊
Agree ! The extra step really gives it that added friction to prevent slipping . After continued use and especially with heavy lines it makes a difference . Thanks for watching !!
Thanks for watching our videos ! I’d say no knot is completely immune to slipping under all conditions. Although designed to be very secure and is less likely to slip compared to some other knots, especially when tied correctly. However, factors such as the type of line, the load applied, and the conditions in which the knot is used can impact its performance. This added friction of the second loop holds the first loop stopping any slippage ..

As you mentioned use a bit of spit before you pull & tighten the knot & it's great knot with or without the extra loop. 🐟

A correctly tied Palomar knot never slips, ever. The "extra step" simply isn't necessary.

Only with braid.
Actually works on mono and fcs as well also dependant on hook eye and how heavy is the line
