The alt sets are kind of a neat idea! I actually wouldn't mind alt sets for other heroes as well. Like, a Black Prior alt set that removes the demon faces on his elbows, adds mail coifs on his helms or sets that remove the capes on Lawbringer, Black Prior, Cent, Warden, Nuxia, etc. Jorm could get a Loki helm without the horns, Nobushi could mix and match her masks and helmet sets and Conqueror could use the new knight minion's kettle helm! Ubisoft just opened the flood gates by doing this AND allowing us to equip Apollyon's armor. Now there's no excuse not to include other campaign sets like Mercy's mask, Holden Cross' arms, Mojimi's headgear, Stigandr's bear hat, Runa's helmet, etc.!
Especially since you can't do anything to change the color of them. I wanted a base black set with nothing special and I was so close but those bright white straps there for no reason.
The reason why they are rusted is kinda like japanese mythology The armor is rusted because the cult of Appollyon are so bloodthirsty that they revel in the fact that their armor rusted with their enemies' blood An explanation not a defense
@@bloosey5052 Specifically the Lawbringer that didn't defend her home village as a child, she trained as a warden, killed him and took his armor and reshaped it to fit her.
If you were to consider warmonger to just straight up be Apollyon then you could chalk up the insane amount of rust and damage on her gear to the fact that it was pulled off a lawbringer that she killed
I mean that would mean that there would be no modifications done (as it is near impossible to repurpose armor from completely different body types, but if you were, you'd have to remove all surface rust), and if there were nothing done to it, then that would mean that it was one small Lawbringer.

Every time I see Warmonger’s helmets it reminds me that Ubi literally has various Knight helmets sitting on display every time they had an employee talking about Year 4.
To defend the Sallet/Armet helmet, I think it’s actually directly inspired by the Bellows Visor Sallet. A Sallet with a longer visor, though that one at least covers the ears.
I was pretty mad the moment I found out that warmonger was gonna be the new character, but now after playing her I am enjoying her and her armor sets really made me want to unlock them.
Honestly, the ahistorical thing doesn’t really bother me much, I can deal with stylistic choices. If the game was really historically accurate it wouldn’t be a lot of fun tbh, but I love hearing about the armors actual usability in battle, it’s neat
One minor detail I noticed with the Astrea/Rhamnusia chests; She's wearing pants whilst the front of her legs and thighs have some leather covering it. It's more noticeable with the Rhamnusia chest as the pants are different colors than the leather covering. Again, just a minor detail I noticed whilst playing with Warmonger.
All I’m saying is I knew the moment I got the full syntribos set I was likely not going to be taking it off lmao. Sure I’ll make that Apollyon cosplay on one of the other loadouts but god the syntribos set is the closest we’ve ever got to perfect armour in this game, and sure the non-alt set is fantasised but it still looks cool at that.
Interesting. For the helmet with her own hair, it seems that she has short hair, cleanly cut, like if she once had a long hair and decided do cut it and put it on the helmet, like ange in cross-ange (only cuting her hair tho).
The Rhamnusia armor is probably supposed to look more like they're focusing on it being armor and not on looks, which is why it looks great. The rust and straps on the helmet give it a good aesthetic.
I actually appreciate the more ornate armor designs of the warmonger. It betrays the ego of each of the warmongers, almost like a statement that they are strong enough to not need effective armor. Is this historically accurate or at the very least effective? No. But I don't come to For Honor for either of those things. I wanna LARP as a motherfucking edge-knight. Nice video btw.
Many of these helmets has a back like the legionaire helmets (what makes sense in case one of the collectibles in 1.2 mission says that Apollyon herself visited once a centurion homeland). If only they would close that gap around the ear and neck and make this "plate" around narrower,it would be a good helmet for me.
The reasoning behind the rust and damage a lot of the armor has is because the lore says the warmongers take armor from their dead opponents like Apollyon did with the Lawbringer armor (specifically the chestpiece) she wears and I mean it’s not like I’d go pilfering corpses during the battle I’d wait till after and the blood dirt and mud would obviously make em dirty and dented
8:05 Honestly seems like a plausible italian sallet if the neck guard was shorter. Barring the horrendously exposed neck I recon it looks like a rather nice sallet combo.
My issue with the sabaktas helm is that the engravings are not just on the face portion of the helm, but the rest of the helm aswell, it seems like a dent with a mace or something blunt would cave in much easier than a different helmet.
Just so you know for honour has strayed far from realism, it’s become more fantasy than realistic Edit: warmonger is a “ I listen to Billie eyelash so I’m different than all of but I got too edgy and emo but I still like my style” type of person
13:25 Pretty sure part of Apollyon's whole deal is scavenging armor from fallen enemies. Her own set was taken from a Lawbringer, so it's very likely that Astrea took pieces from a Black Prior and a Centurion. Edit - 17:15 Although I feel personally attacked, it was part of the lore before Ubisoft started to reuse things for the new characters.
I love these videos, I don’t often sit through longer videos if I’m not like watching it specifically for like a play through or something similar, but every time I start one of your videos I just get sucked in wanted to know what you think about this, that, or whatever really.
You do you and i get the rusted vibe (i like it too) but a real veteran takes care of their gear, personally i'd rather have some small dents and scratches rather than rust since rust just means it's dirty.
I use the rhamnusia one because of the shape, and I'm using tin (will use black then gold) Its nice when you don't notice the rust. I also use the antler helm. I think it they tightened the flanges(?) On the antler helm it would make more sense. Or a gorget. I like the idea of the totally not a over designed fencing mask. But not enough I do use sabaktes arms and chest. With no paint and some embossing.
You could make an argument for which one she stole from - excuse me, took inspiration from. But warmongers armor are stolen from the people she killed and reforged to fit her own need. So stolen is probably the better word. Also, no i am not going back on that statement.
So she's fine with just "stealing and reforging it" rather than just sell the stolen crap and buy something better? Yeah bud that's not an okie dokie plan, 0/10- brain smaller than my pp (if this was after a battle she can basically sell a whole load of armour and weapons to black priors and gladiators or even just the minions)
Some of the armor probably looks like armor from other characters because Apollyon stole armor from a Lawbringer and they thought it'd make a good theme.
The reason why Warmonger's and Apollyon's armor looks like a lawbringer's armor is because the lore of For Honor states that both Warmonger and Apollyon both stole a Lawbringer's armor from one they killed and had it reforged. I still enjoy the video, I'm just explaining some lore.
Couple of notes: > Gambeson over chain is super inaccurate - chain pinches, you wear gambeson underneath it to protect your skin from the metal, and the metal from your sweat. > Sallet (sal-ay) and armet helmets could usually interchange visors without much effort. It looks odd, but it's not entirely out of line with later sets of 16th century munitions armor. > Anything with scale armor is basically a no-go in Europe. Just discard it for realism. > Chain gorget on Sabaktes is pointless. Chain lacks the rigidity to protect anything more than the armor it lays on. If it's meant to attach to the sabaktes helmet and look like a coif, cool, except that the chain coif under the helmet went the way of dodo after the Great Helm rotated out of fashion in the 14th century. > Her shoulders are awful. All but the very smallest or the large winged shoulders would make it nearly impossible to lift your arm. They have to be "floaty" so that you have freedom of movement, or else they need to be a system of telescoping "riders" as seen on Henry VIII's tournament field suit.
