I had heard the name of the instrument mentioned in relation to the electric guitar playing of Marty Friedman though. This musician has a great gift/talent! Would love to see this music live in the UK.
Japanese Koto music"Sanka" Sanka is an ode. She shows how to wear Kimono. She is a lady of graceful carriage. Ex-prime ministers' wives couldn't wear like this.
凄いテクニック。流れるような音の美しさ。弦から手の動きで泉が湧くように、なんとも言えない華やかさと爽やかさが、聞く人に伝わって来ます。日本の美。この表現にピッタリのイメージですね。着物姿での演奏は落ち着いて気持ちがいいですね。広い砂漠をさ迷っているときに、もし琴の音が遠くから聞こえたら、日本人であれば、もうオワシスは近いと感じるでしょう。そんな素敵な楽器と賞賛しても、言い過ぎではないと思います。まさしく価値ある最高の楽器ですね。女の方は習って見たい衝動に駆られるでしょう。でも難しそう、そこを乗り越えたら、素敵な調べに満足するでしょうね。素晴らしい琴の音に思うことは、人生における静かな思いと活動的な動き、満足な生活力に気持ち良い人生の生き方に琴の音（ね）が最高によい感触を与えてくれます。私は二階の自分の部屋から外の庭の花、木を眺めながら琴の調べを静かに聞いています。周りが生きいきして来るのは、私の錯覚でしょうか。いいですね。日本の琴は宝物の存在ですね。私はこれで大変満足しています。皆様もいかがですか。それではご健勝を祈ります。素敵な皆様へ。

最近箏にはまって聴くようになったけど、録音状態にもよるだろうが、こんなピアノみたいに1音1音音がクリアで綺麗になるものなんだ…、、、楽曲創った方もめちゃくちゃ凄いけど、演奏してる方も凄い…。生で演奏聞いてみたい。

美しい琴の演奏ですね。まるで音が弾けるような 乱れのない 流れは最高の奏者ですね。落ち着いて 上品な雰囲気に感動を覚えます。 手の動き体のしなやかな 姿勢は最高です。上品な人ですね。聞いていると 夢ごごちに なって来ます。
伝統の琴の気持ちを 最大限に生かして 動と静が 生き物のごとく、織りなす音の素晴らしさに 感動します。琴に心があるならば 私を最高に引き出す素敵な人と 言うかもしれませんね。本当に 素晴らしい奏者です。日本の第一人者の方ですか。
もう 七つ星の魅力は 間違いなしですね。私も いい気持になりました。ありがとうございます。これからも 素晴らしい演奏が楽しみです。

美しい奥行きのある音です。昔、箏曲を習った時にはピアノなどと比べて芸術性が低い遊び事のような印象を持っていましたので、素養の一部として一通りで止めてしまいましたが、これは芸術ですね。家の箏を取り出し、また習おうかと思いました。

That is amazing. I can't help but wonder what that would sound like with an amp and some heavy distortion attached to it.
The whole thing about the koto is the purity of sound. Any distortion would just be blasphemy.
