    I'm convinced that Rochelle is the real MVP of these makeovers. She is quietly in the background getting the job DONE making the vision come to life- its just great team work and everyone needs a teammate like her.

    I'm from Alaska, when I was in Dubai someone from Australia asked me how we drive in the winter. They didn't believe me that we change our ties to "snow tires" or "studded tires". They literally called me liar to my face. Stating no government would allow tires with metal cleat-like tings in them on the roads; they would destroy the pavement. Luckily, a Canadian overheard the convo and jumped in to confirm that we do indeed own 2 sets of tires and pay a garage to switch them out every winter and spring. And the winter ones are basically football cleats for your car.

    • @lpuik
      @lpuik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      And if you're from Finland most of us just change the tires ourselves! :D It's illegal here to drive with summer tires after October and I'm assuming it's similar in Alaska. That's why we pay taxes, to fix the roads xD We have a term in Finnish called 'routavaurio' which basically is a name to describe the damage winter causes to the roads. But yeah most people know how to change their own tires, it's usually just a matter of the equipment, and, well, I bet you can't find a single father in Finland who doesn't have the equipment and the knowledge on how to do it haha. (ofc it's not just a father thing but it also kinda is such a dad thing)

    If you want to know how much propane you have left just fill up a glass of warm/hot water and pour it over the tank…the tank will still feel cold where the propane is and warm where it’s not SO you can feel where the cold stops and that’s where you propane level is!

    I don't know if this is something I just did not know until last week, but maybe someone else can benefit from that information: the stainrags can catch fire if you leave them in a pile or just throw them in the garbage. You have to air them out and let them dry completly to be safe. I never knew that and I am so happy that I have never burnt my house down 🤯
    Oh and: Great Video! 😊

      Also piggy-backing this to mention that drywall isn’t supposed to line up with corners (4 corners touching of different sheets). It creates a weak spot, but that shouldn’t be an issue in this garage space but definitely could be inside your home.

      @@AC-cu6ij In Canada and other cold places you keep snow tires that have extra strong grip and tread for the winter or you'll keep extra regular tires because tires wear out faster in snowy places

    Here in Australia, you can get a sticker(magnet?) that you put on the gas canister that runs down the length of it and tells you how much gas is left. I think registers the temperature of the metal, where the level of the gas is colder than where there is no gas.

    😱 FYI drywall is hung left to right not vertically and then staggered. You won't get the bumpy seams. Due to moisture with no climate control area a special drywall is used. Check codes in your area before doing work.

    Kelsey you don't know the heartache you have saved me. I've been planning on touching up the stain on my beloved coffee table from childhood that dad gave me and was between provincial and espresso . I’m the same girl! We have been renting out our family home for the past 18 months while we have been working in a different location and we are moving back to the house in a few weeks and I know that there’s going to be so much to do when we get back as our tenants haven’t been looking after our property the way we’d hoped they would so it’s fairly ruined. Part of me is obviously so mad that the house isn’t how we left it but the the other part of me is trying to see the silver lining in that this means I can start from scratch and freshen everything up again, I’m thinking of it like a fresh start for us and a great way to be sure everything is cleaned to my standards too but honestly, like you I’m really lacking motivation and a little lost for ideas of how to make our place beautiful again, so happy to have team TSG to help!
      I hope you too find the motivation to finish your space the way you’d like it, I think we’re never really ever done huh!? ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Hi Kelsey, love the makeover of your garage space, and I wouldn't call it a garage anymore, it is beautiful storage space. Love that drywall wall and the color you chose to stain those shelves, putting texture on that wall was a really great idea to cover those drywall seams. And I probably would have freaked finding that spider up in the socket also love that light it really adds a cool vibe in there. I feel like storage bins are a good thing to use to organize things, because you can label the outside and then you will always know what is in each bin. I just love your outdoor space it is looking so wonderful, and now this area is also looking so amazing. Thanks for a wonderful video that really enjoyed watching, I hope the rest of your week is great, sending love and hugs, bye for now.🤣🥰💜

    A better fix for all those uneven studs is to even the studs out. You can take strips of wood and screw them onto the narrower studs to build them out. Any scrap wood can work, just cut it with a table saw to the right width (1/4” plywood is great, but you could cut 1x2 or 2x4 on a table saw too, I’ve even seen scraps of drywall used in new builds). When we were renovating our last house, we used the garbage lath to build out the modern 2x4’s to match the 100 yo 2x4’s. The lath were exactly the right thickness, it worked beautifully and the finished walls were as good as they get. Plastering can work too, but you need a lot of coats, which is very time consuming.

    I just want to mention that I have the same hairtype as Kelsey and I've been stealing updo ideas from here. Thank you Kelsey.
