I bought the Joe (Darlington?) ones with the branding. I think the branding is pretty subtle, so I don't mind so much. One thing is for sure, they are very high quality.
001st.The future's so bright...i've gotta wear shades...😎 Its certainly a good feeling when an item you've purchased is beautifully packaged & presented. Regarding branding i don't like any external branding , Bond related or not. Unless its very discreet.
Personally, I share the same philosophy. Always have. If the logo is present, but hidden, then I’m just as likely to wear it as I would without the logo. If the logo is visible from any angle on the exterior, I’m far less likely to wear it. If the branding is on the packaging only, then I have no problem with that. I actually just jumped on the train and got the unbranded Norton’s and hopefully they arrive before my summer vacation. I also had to replace my Vuarnet’s due to them breaking, but that happens. I am excited to finally get the Norton’s, though, as I love the look and the color, especially.
Total agree without 007 logo/branding, you know its 007 no need to shout it, and its better brought up in conversation-discovered not announced you once said
Finally got the pair of Joe’s after ordering them last year. Have to agree the whole customer experience is very cool. The box is actually quite heavy, all the details and extras really make for a special ownership experience. I like the branding in the packaging and extras. The fit and finish on them is beautiful. The 007 on the arms will certainly divide people. I don’t mind it too much. It could be worse. They could have put it on the lens a la Ray Ban style which would have been crazy. So I’m pretty happy. A very long wait but got here eventually for me. In case people are wondering. I was lucky. I got 25% off and then also saved 20% vat as I live on the Channel Islands. So I saved quite a bit over normal retail. Still pricey though for sure. Special occasions only for these ones. Lol.
Have you noticed that their 2020 collection (outside the NTTD related products) now includes a Zorin, Drax, Domino, Galore and Orlov model? Looks like Barton Perreira might be an enthusiastic Bond partner with potentially more tie ins in the future
@@TheBondExperience no branding. And there's a Solitaire in there too. Wouldn't it be cool if they did an Orlebar Brown style revisiting of sunglasses from all the characters in the Bonds?
Update: my Norton’s arrived and I love them. The only thing that irks me about them, which has happened with all my eyewear except the Vuarnet’s is that the arms are too long for my head. My ears are just too far forward on my head 😟😞
They should Of reversed where the logo is where it’s on the inside of the arm instead of outside. But I’m with you David I would rather wear the exact thing bond would have worn in the movie not a branded after the fact version. Nice glasses nonetheless
TheBondExperience not 100% sure on this but websites in the UK are only showing the 007 version so if people are only wanting the standard versions, you may have to do some hunting.
Hi, David. Great review of these spectacles, and could go either way on the branding. However, I would prefer the non-branded set. It is something you would want to wear if it were Bond or not. It’s just cool.
I own the Joe's. I pre ordered back in October 2019 and asked for the non-branded version as I was told a small number will be available. Come February I recieved the none 007 branded packaging but a 007 branded glasses frame. Barton Perreira explained that all Joe's are now produced under license and kindly provided me the 007 branded packaging at a later date so I had a more complete product. I agree that their customer service is second to none and the 007 branded packaging is much more premium than the standard packaging. Its just a shame that the 007 is embossed on the outside of the frame. If it were done on the inside it would have been perfect.
Iam a optician from germany and you can polish the 007 brand from the temples verry easy...;) Than you got the special branding only at the case !!! Only a example....;)
I do the frugal Bond but if I had the money I won’t want the branding of 007 or No Time to Die. I like the undercover Bond moments that only other true Bond fans know
I get where you’re coming from David. Having the 007 branding on the cloth and the sunglasses case is one thing, but, similarly to your feelings on the matter, having it on the arm of the sunglasses in a conspicuous place (albeit subtlety conspicuous...so to speak), would not be my preference. To me, the glasses speak for themselves and those in the know, will know. No need to advertise it. Keep up the cool content mate👍🏻. BTW!!! I saw a poster in a shop here in Perth Western Australia advertising to be one of the first to pre-order No Time To Die. Does that mean it’s going to be released on DVD and Blueray earlier than expected? I’d love to know your thoughts please.
I actually like 007 branding I’m probably in the minority I’ve got the Omega PO Skyfall and love the 007 at 7’Oclock. I bought the Nortons last year so we’re SA I then preordered the Joes and got the branded ones . Very impressed with Barton Perriera they’ve bumped the Tom Ford Markos.
I would not mind the branding on the box and packaging...............However, like you if I was wearing on a daily basis, I would NOT want the branding on the arms nor anywhere else. Are the non branded still available?
I would tend not to get the 007 branded items for the same reason as you mention - or, if the branding was on the inside as others have mentioned then that would work. That said, David, for you, is this Just in relation to the Bond screen-worn items that then come branded? Clearly there are some N.Peal and Orlebar items that are inspired by, but not screen-worn. Does the branding here fall under a different remit for you? Best, Simon.
These are all far too small for me, but it’s better not to have the logos imo. Speaking of screen accuracy, I see you still have an “alternative” shirt, but looks great with the outfit. 👍🏼
I prefer without 007 logos. I know Omega has done this too. I want to wear a Bond watch without any reference to 007 on it. It comes off as kind cheesy I think anyway.
Generally speaking I always think they should charge less for branded products because you're a walking advert for the products I never wear anything that advertises a company. It's like wearing a billboard around your neck. Most people have embraced branding but I think maybe Bond fans are a bit cooler and classier
I bought the Joe (Darlington?) ones with the branding. I think the branding is pretty subtle, so I don't mind so much. One thing is for sure, they are very high quality.
They have Joe Darlington wrote on the arm?
Bryan VanGilder I agree, I love mine too, the whole package is very high class and well designed and thought out.

I just got these for my 17th bday. Holy crap these are nice! Top of the line quality!
I couldn't agree more with you. It's all about those "invisible" Bond moments!
Invisible is key!
@@TheBondExperience invisible to the "uninitiated"! ;)

I’ve got the none 007 branded ones. Love them !!!
I’m really thinking of getting these or the Joe’s. I love my Vuarnets but these look so nice.
I share your opinion on branding w/ some exceptions. For me, it cheapens it. If it's hidden as you described, fine.
Total agree without 007 logo/branding, you know its 007 no need to shout it, and its better brought up in conversation-discovered not announced you once said
Bingo!
Love the sunglasses but love the bracers more...may get myself some of those.
oh yeah!

Definitely no logo for me, although the branding is nice for collectors I guess?
James BOND. Rulezzzzz!

really nice sunglasses but at £300 they cost more than double my (very similair ) persol sunglasses, be interesting to see if the quality is better
The quality is excellent...but so are Persols...!

David, another question if I may. I know it is not sunglass related. But, what shoes would go with the outfit that you are wearing?
I’m surprised David doesn’t have the new bond watch yet 😂
So is David... :)
I like the 007 branding
Thanks for the Vid David. You were shaking like a leaf sir now many double Espressos had you drank anyway? 😋

58,000 sunglasses in the film 😂😂😂 Spot on

Yep, no logo is the way to go 👍 Bond doesn't wear watches or clothes with 007 on them.
Yeah I'm not a fan of the obvious looking logo either, more subtlety required on that score.

Wow, thought Craig himself walked into the frame at the beginning for a second there.
LOL....!
I don't like the 007 branding at all, especially in the watches!
Only one looks good - QOS is conservative
Agreed.
$440 for sunglasses - I'd much rather just get some Ray-bans and spend the rest on something else - but as ever, each to their own of course !!
If they did this 20 years ago then maybe...
Fugly, love Bond but i'll stick with my Oakleys and Bausch & Lomb's thanks very much.
