there's another really good one on the 2005-2013 c6. don't buy it with a low tank of gas. make sure it's full and sitting inside for a bit. there are fuel lines prone to cracking on top of the tank. major pain to change, have to drop the tank. car will smell the garage up with gas fumes if they are cracked. another is the torque tube rattle. most commonly herd driving down the road under load or sometimes at idle. may sound like a loose exhaust or rattle. torque tube issues also require the whole driveline to be dropped

Mileage history as well, I am looking do buy a c6 but the majority of the cars I found at auction had suspected mileage. It is not rolll back, but depending on the state you don’t need to report mileage every year, then a car seated with the same owner for 5 years and only 5k miles put in than it’s very suspicious.

I had a C6 and the Harmonic Balancer started to wobble I sold it after I found out a torque tube job was $6000 and it happens a lot on Corvettes,it wasn't making noise yet but it was just a matter of time.
Only 1 of these are really good tips, the rest is general knowledge, or just stuff you are twist to your advantage. Like the title loan thing. Is what they owe less than value? Good, use that against them and walk away if they don't bite. Illegal mods, smog? On the former it's either a cheap change you can reduce price on and just put in a small amount of sweat equity (tint, and cat back exhaust the most common) to bring back to what you want. On the Later? If you customize anything, you will probably do the same so act just enough put off/concerned to make them "assure" you by giving you a good word and hopefully take some off. Now you bring said car only for the sticker to the guy who remembers it. Hook up made. The harmonic Balancer is the only corvette specific thing. Everything else that's a red flag is general used car purchasing knowledge.
Harmonic Balance is a common failure item on these corvettes. Once it fails it starts maching a chirping sound and its a really big and expensive job to have this replaced
unless you're prepared to spend top dollar, it's ok to buy a car with minor flaws like big gaps and leaky valve cover gaskets. otherwise you're chasing unicorns, and unicorns don't exist my guy.
