I'm glad they added players vs. AI. Which is a crazy thing to have to be glad about in a modern game. But I don't always like playing competitive, sometimes you just want to relax.
Player vs. Ai is the reason I've stuck with For Honor so long. Always love when there's an option.
Absolutely. First thing I said to my best friend was that we should get the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer squad back together. Versus AI makes that so much easier.

Vanguard Squad (and Hera's presence) is the cross-reference to Alphabet Squadron. Rae Sloane ties to other novels (primarily Aftermath trilogy and the Rebels prequel A New Dawn). The Starhawk is also from Aftermath where the ships of that class play a key role in the Battle of Jakku. It's exciting to see that taking an important role in this campaign.
There ought to hopefully be heavy fighters as well. B Wing and Tie Defender or the TIE/rb come to mind.
My hope is that they add B-Wings and Tie defenders post launch. I can see why they would be hesitant to add B wings though. Being a first person cockpit only game, the fact the B-wing doesn’t have a centralised cockpit would make confusing to manoeuvre . And that is before we consider the fact it can rotate the cockpit.
But the TIE Defender was never put into mass production. And after two Death Stars, I don’t think the Empire has the money to make more of them.
There’s always the TIE Striker though that appeared in Rogue One alongside the Tie Reaper.
I don’t know about the B-Wing. From what I’ve read, they were great bombers but completely useless in a dogfight. At least in the Y-Wing you can fight back. It does look like we are getting the Tie Advanced V1, so there is probably going to be a New Republic ship to counter it
I love the music and how there is a little spin on it. Star wars music always gives me chills and hypes me up.

It’ll be interesting to see Rae Sloane in this. Since the rank plaque is an admiral, this game is set at least few weeks after Endor. Maybe we’ll get some reference to Gallius Rax.

I'm not to sure about the field of view in the starfighters...
...especially the Tiefighters.
tbf I have a lot of worries about the game but the field of view I'm okay with, that's all they had in the films so stands to reason that is all they have in the game.
The devs have said you can turn off the HUD.

This Game makes me reminesce the Very Old "Rogue Squadron Game" for Windows 98 I used to Play as a Very Young Teenager...
(There was even an official Patch for Playing with the Naboo Starfighter from Phantom Menace at the Time)

I'm fine with it. I actually prefer the cockpit view in BF2 and I think I do pretty well with it. Obviously TIEs have their disadvantages since you don't really have any peripheral vision, but that's something to be balanced through game play.

I'll be buying a HOTAS setup for this, probably one of the under $100 ones, but it's good to know that they'll be supported. Just need to wait to see which ones!
X-wing: Alliance had 53 missions in it's single player campaign, and you played the same character throughout, let's see how many missions this one has, spread out into two characters!
FYI Battlefront 2 campaign had 18 missions.
this will pale compared to Alliance. Alliance is also amazing with the new overhaul mod.
Honestly, I prefer quality over quantity in campaigns. I wouldn’t mind a short campaign as long as it is good
@@sirboomsalot4902 LucasArts used to be able to do both, nowadays they struggle at either, it'll all be pretty no doubt, but will your victories and defeats make any difference other than the amount of creds or xp you get, will winning a match move the storyline on or will it be endless pvp head to head "content".
50Stone Well, from what I’ve heard there will be different kinds missions, for example in the prologue you’re scanning containers for survivors of Alderaan. However, while it would be awesome I don’t think the mission success will affect the story, as this is a multiplayer focused game. But I won’t rule out that possibility yet

functional cockpit? Probably it's a glorified docking station with a 'fighter jet' type chair, a closing cockpit, a 'instrument panel for show only' and a place to mount your joystick, rudder pedals and throttle control. Some flight sim fanatics did that a lot for 'atmosphere'.
As long as the components aren’t pay to win, I don’t think a Star Wars would attempt pay to win after they last tried it at the star of battlefront 2. Hopefully not

The fleet battles remind me so much of the 2005 Space Battles tho the need to destroy the secondary frigates is an interesting decision as in the 2005 game it was just eliminating the main points on the enemy capital ship that won you it with the support frigates/ships being no more than additional AA that could be removed permanently as to allow for easier bombing and blaster runs

Eric, please please please play the Rogue One VR mission from Battlefront. It's only about 15-20 min long but I'd love to see your reaction to trying it and I promise you'll get more hyped for Squadrons if you do.

Add in a mission editor and this could be THE starfighter game. At $40 first impression is this is a guaranteed buy for me right now.

Not as of now. Though I’m guessing it will be added because people seem to like it for some reason. I personally don’t see the appeal of the B-Wing, it just seems like a Y-Wing but with ore bombs but without the versatility.
Plus, I would imagine they would be hard to fly in this game due to the weird cockpit setup

I was unsure if I should get Fallen Order for a long time. I bought it two months ago and have not regretted it through two playthroughs. I'd never played any Souls-style games, either, so I was coming in fresh to the general style. I highly recommend it.
Haven't played FFVII remake, but from what I can tell gameplay and story is great; the only real criticism is I've heard is about map design, specifically that you stay in one region for the whole "episode".
Jedi: Fallen Order is a fantastic game. Good lightsaber and Force combat, great map design with fantastic platforming. Compelling story and near-perfect attention to detail. My only complaints are that there's not a lot to explore outside of the forced path, the game feels just a bit short, and it was a bit glitchy at times (although that may have been addressed in recent updates).
My recommendation is Jedi: Fallen Order, if only because I know without doubt that it's a fun Star Wars game.

im only disappointed with the player count. only 10 players max per match? i would have liked to see multiple squadrons in a game giving us maybe 30 or 60 player games.

I keep getting downvoted everytime I tell people, but it's a moba. They literally describe the game using moba mechanics. Players fight in the center, one team takes down capital ships (towers), then pushes past them to take down a carrier / destroyer (base). Each team has AI mobs backing them up, and you can purchase upgrades for your characters. It's literally a moba. "Campaign" will probably be a few matches against bots with a flimsy story wrapped around it.
I don't know why anyone thinks EA was going to do an xwing / tie fighter 2, cause that was never gonna happen. It's EA.

this is a product i already know, i will enjoy greatly.
it is like BF2 mixed with the best aspects of the old fighter games...
i am optimistic that the story will be good enough(and fair enough) not to ruin my singleplayer experience...
and above all, with this new, simply put "drift" mechanic, i cannot wait to fight plot armor with skill :)

The story mode looks meh to me, same as the story mode "playable " characters . Now I'm a old school Star Wars EU fan , and so a female TIE pilot feels off to me as the Empire before Disney got hold of it was Xenophobic, which they kept but also misogynistic. There were no female pilots or officers , the only 2 Females to get any real power were Admiral Dalaa , as Tarkin secretly promoted her, and Ysanne Isard, who killed and schemed her way up the ladder becoming de facto leader of the Empire after Endor. If they swapped the characters around it would feel better.
However you still would have 2 boring human characters.
In my opinion the multiplayer modes are where it's at, with the customisation You could make some of the non-human pilots from the EU , but if there is no Gamorrean options to recreate Voort saBinring AKA Piggy, I'll be a very disappointed nerd.
Apart from above the graphics and game play looks solid , however although I think all the customisation options are grindable , part of me is expecting microtransactions and loot boxes, hope that's just cynicism talking.

@@BackFromUranus I thinks the game will have a similar treatment from Jedi Fallen Order. SW Squadrons is not like Battlefront 2, since the game is on same level focused on single player campaign and multiplayer. Old Assassin's Creed games also done this too.
I always play female when I can, but Star Wars pushing the agenda just ruins the mood. As in I feel like I'm playing a female because some big shot told the development team to make it so. Messed up how politics influence the enjoyment of gaming.
