The monastery set from dark souls 2 is way more rare than the pickaxe. There is only one enemy in the game that drops it and he only spawns on ng+ and he's hidden behind a painting in aldia's keep. He doesnt respawn so you have to burn bonfire aestectics if you want to farm him, that means killing the dragon every time you dont get a piece. I dont know the drop chance but it isnt very high i believe
I would argue that the rarest item in elden ring is actually the magma blade with only a 1% drop rate and only 2 enemies in the entire game that drop it. That and also the flame monks curved sword

the video also fails to notice that the reason the haligtree crest shield is such a pain to farm is because you can't easily go back to a site of grace to respawn the knight, you effectively have to fast travel after every single kill. so unless if you are willing to go through 20-50 silver pickled fowl feet, you're better off just farming for it without them with regular discovery boosting gear. still outdone by the magma blade imo, just because a 1% drop rate from an enemy type of which there are only 2 in the whole game which aren't even particularly close to a site of grace is atrocious
I absolutely agree and I'll also say that overall it is harder to farm than the shield. I got the shield after half an hour of farming. Failed to the get the Noble's slender sword after3 hours of farming where 3 of them roam near the Waypoint Ruins. Edit: Upon reloading my save, I noticed that I actually have farmed quite a few Noble Slender swords. What I failed to get was the illusive Noble's Estoc 😅

For darksouls 2 I would argue that the reskin weaons are actually the rarest items in the game. The pickaxe sidequest is a chore sure but it's a guranteed drop if you do it. While the weapon reskins are no longer accesible and can only be recieved through trade with a player who has it. As far as I know they are not in scholar of the first sin and were only obtainable prior to each DLC release in the abandoned house's basement in majula. Granted they are functionally identical to their non-reskined counterparts. I still have my white katana on my 360 save file haha.

The black knight greatshield of Shadow Of The Erdtree has a higher holy damage protection that can increased to 100% with holy infusion making it the best shield against the final bosses of both the base game and the DLC.
Imho, fingerprint is much better. Pearlshield tali with it as well, and you have 85%-20% holy damage taken which is like, 50-60 per hit. It has lower stability than verdigris but you can infuse holy ground which gives you regen and reduces damage taken down to like, 30
In ds2 the mad warrior set and the berserker blade all drop from a single red phantom enemy in belfry sol, the enemy has around 16% chance of spawning and the items each have like 2% chance to drop
After farming everything it's possible to farm in elden ring I'd say that the rarest item in Elden ring is the Watchdog's Greatsword. Because it's a really low chance drop on a mini boss in a late game area. It's dropped by one of the cat miniboss (but this time it's a trashmob and not a miniboss) who is also completely invincible if you dont put it in a light spot (and it's also a gank fight to defeat it).
@@Syhyronica Woah you got unlucky on this one. There is also the Duelist Greataxe, it cant be farmed after you defeated Maliketh, so I had to do half of the whole game just to farm this weapon (and the drop rate is so low too).
farm it in the giant's mountaintop catacombs instead, 2 watchdogs in a row, second w/ greatsword--there's no grace but there is a stake of marika right there, so just die to the other watchdog every time it doesn't drop. got 2 this way

He's really not that hard. Not only is there one close to a grace, (which does matter) but there is a slit in the wall by said grace where you can shoot him from and never have to even fight him. He doesn't teleport up to you for some reason. That's how I farmed mine. 😅
I think it's faster to farm the Haligtree Great Shield from the grace near Malenia. You just warp there, turn around, go up the elevator, run out of the church, and you're there. By running back and forth between him and the grace, you can get 3 kills during the duration of a Fowl Foot. Only took me maybe 15-20 minutes to get the drop. Farming for two Magma Blades was much worse, at least on one of my characters.
Wouldn't the Challenge Rings be the rarest/hardest things to get on DS2? I'm pretty sure doing deathless and bonfire-less runs is considerably harder than the pig thing, and very few people have them I think, as they require a huge amount of time and skill to get.
lot of planning but tbh its doable since you can still powerlevel . pits are biggest enemy for run , its just tedious backtracking which iam lazy to do . rings are not even good at all . any experienced pvper will recognize hidden weapon type

Elden Ring rarest item is for sure the Magic Golem Arrows. As for Dark Souls 2 honestly we could put like over a dozen items on that list, there's so much comically rare shit in that game, like the Monastery set, the Domino Mask, the Shadow set, etc..
Yeah, a lot of this is misinformation. I farm the ones behind the Putrid Avatar in Haligtree and I have 3 of them. It is rare but is obtainable from any of them.
Ds1 was my very first dark souls game and the sheer luck I had on my first playthrough was absolutely STUPID, and I had no clue until I talked to my friend who had like 100 hours in it. It started when the Taurus demon jumped off the bridge when he still had about 80% HP left, so I just skipped that fight. The channeler at the top of undead parish dropped the trident, I also had the iron golem jump off his arena as well, I got the black knight great sword from the very first black knight and basically just pumped strength and cakewalked the rest of the game.
If we include random drops it has to be an out of shape 31% bloodtinge gem with an acceptable tertiary cursed effect in bloodborne. Some players grind hundreds of hours in the chalices for one.
Ahh yes, the greatest gamer sin imaginable: unoptimisation. I retained my sanity and gave up while I still had some. Physical gems are fine, I'm fine, and my Chikage is perfectly fine. 🫠

I would rename this video to rarest weapon since beyond weapons, the ds1 slabs are atrocious to farm. Titanite slabs from darkwraiths, blue from the crystal cavern butterfly, red slabs from the octopus monsters in izalith and whites from pinwheels outside of nitos boss fog. Heck even sunlight medals in ds2 are a bad farm.
The rarest item is obviously the lands between rune, you only got one shot so you better not miss your chance to blow, its opportunity is once in a lifetime.
There's a rarer item for Elden Ring. The Magma Blade weapon has a 1% drop chance and can only be obtained from 2 Man-Serpent enemies in Volcano Manor. Thankfully, it's worth it since it's a fantastic weapon for Faith builds, and the Ash of War is also really good.
Also the noble slender sword and Noble estoc. They're like less than 1% drop chance. It only took me like 5 minutes to get the shield. The swords took me hours on some characters.
The Celebrant Sickle is worse than the magma blade, it's drop chance is half that of the magma blade and the enemies who drop it are about as scarce. I think the Fire Prelates Thorned Whip deserves a mention as well. It's drop % is higher but you have to farm the prelate at the mountain top of the giants to get it, and there's no quick or easy way to do that because it has a ton of health and resistances.
Personally, I would have to disagree with the Dark Souls 3 pick, I had WAY more trouble getting a Mendicant’s Staff. And then you have to get a second one to trade with the birds
Got Haligtree GS on 4 out of 5 Elden Ring characters(did not even farm for it)...I even got the Wandering Noble SS on 3 out of 5 characters as well...Im wondering why people complain about drops.
The Haligknight shield did actually get outclassed by the Black Knight Greatshield in the DLC. It's got 5% more holy resist and afaik is just dropped by one of the boss health bar black knights you can find. Very good shield btw, tanked the entirety of that boss's final phase just perfect blocking everything with practically 0 holy damage chipping my health away.
The Haligtree Crest Greatshield does actually drop from the two knights that guard the Elphael Inner Wall site of grace, that’s where I’ve been farming it from. Still incredibly rare to see it drop though.
I'm currently carrying 17million runes in Elden ring.😅 Level 290 on NG+9, I don't really want to level up more because I like being able to get summoned to help out people. Also, having that many runes really makes dying that much more intense😂
I got the ghost blade thrice on my mage character, probably the least likely thing that happened on my ds1 playthrough, similar to getting a white titanite slab on the second pinwheel clone i kill
On my last playthrough of the Haligtree I went and got that Haligtree Crest Greatshield in ONE try. I wasn't even trying to farm it. I didn't even know you could get it.

In DS1, Channeler's Trident has the same drop rate as both of the ghost blades, but it only drops from one-time channelers, aside from one that respawns in Duke's (At the end of the game), therefore it's probably the most rare drop in that game (Sourced from Fextralife wiki)
Calling the penatraters armor thr rarest item isn't correct. Most difficult to get makes more sense. Every copy of Demons Souls for ps5 has the armor on every new game cycle, or in other words, a garenteed drop
For Elden Ring, if you have the DLC, just get the Black Steel Greatshield, at +8 upgrade with sacred infusion you get 100% holy damage negation and 95% physical damage negation, great to use against Twink scourge Radahn in his second phase (don't block the meteorite nuke though) and perfect against the Elden beast.
DS3 hardest item is easily the dark moon blade miracle. You need 30 of an item that’s a 1% drop, shit took hours. Also DS3 has a lot of rings you can only get only NG1 and 2
Elden ring - the Monk's Flameblade is CGS weapon that is ALSO 4% drop chance and off a single enemy in entire game too, so its a tie with the Great shield mentioned
I think Noble's Estoc takes the cake for Elden Ring. 0.5% drop chance from only 6 enemies in the entire map (Wandering Nobles that wear feathered hats and coats).
For Dark Souls 1, I'd argue the Channelers Trident might be a bit rarer. Super low drop chance like the Ghost Blade, and the only two enemies that can be reasonably framed are the Channelers in the Duke's Archives
there's actually 2 far rarer weapons in Elden Ring. I assume most people don't even know they exist. The Celebrant's Rib-Rake and the Celebrant's Sickle only have 0.5% chance to drop from 2 specific enemies each in Windmill Village.
But those enemies are very easy to farm quickly with AOE attacks and a nearby grace. The grind for the Magma Blade is FAR worse since you have to run really far every attempt.

In dark souls 3, before the murky dagger was introduced via dlc, I lost my mind grinding for it's twin the Harpe. I took me 3 days to get my first one and I gave up on the second.
On my recent NG+1 I decided to have all weapons and armor in the game. So I made build with 99 arcane. With silver scarab talisman it's 274 discovery. So with this build chance of getting, for example, haligtree crest greatshield is 10,84%. So you need to kill this knight on average only 9 times. As you have so many arcane use something with ARC scaling. I used Mogh spear - 1 charged AoW and knight is done. He isn't very close to grace but the way to him is simple and has no other enemies. So it's like 10 minutes at max. Much harder is to get celebrant's sickle. It's only 0,5% chance. And there are only 2 of them near graces. So it's 36 attempts on average. And they suroounded by many other celebrants so it's better to kil them all to make returning to grace faster. I used sacred relic blade to clean up that place with 3 AoW waves each time. Took me about an hour. Also damn envoy's greathorn. Chance is pretty good - 4%. But there are only few of them and they placed in very uncomfortable spots. Their ranged attack can kill you ver quickly, they have so many HP, they may fall and if you kill them during their jumping attack loot will appear in the air and you cannot get it.
I’d argue the thorn whip for elden ring, you need to farm a difficult enemy that’s pretty far from any site of grace with a one percent drop chance in the mountaintop of the giants just to get an item that’s worse then the hoslow whip in LITERALLY every conceivable way
Actually it was found out that you don't even need new game + for the penetrator set, you can find all the coins on one playthrough but you to go between white and dark world tendencies (i.e going through a world without dying and then dying a bunch of times.

I think the rarest weapon in DS2 is the painting guardian blade, it has very little drop rate of one enemy in particular that only apear one time per playthrough after ng+, the second one is the lion mage crown that it is drop by an enemy that only appears once per playthrough

I remember the pickaxe. I got it once just for the flex and used it with the pig shield during the height of the game. I used it for invasions. 1 in 10 invasions the host would use the have mercy or prostration emote when i two handed the pickaxe and spammed block to show it off. I like to think they understood the effort I went through to get it and were showing respect. Then they kicked my ass. Because I'm trash at PvP. But I got to feel important briefly.
Bruh, I actually got the Jagged Ghost Blade on my first run on Dark Souls 1 many years ago. It was completely random but after I got it, I leveled it up so i could use the bleeding on everyone

IMO the Domino Mask in DS2 is way harder to get even one of it. Dropped by one enemy NPC that only spawns once, on an optional route that leads to basically nowhere, and has a horrible drop rate. Its pretty strong, buffing every spell source damage with -Max HP as a downside.

Monk's curved sword isn't that difficult to farm, but only one monk drops it. He is in the Giants Mountaintop Catacombs.

It has lower drop % but there are also ways to kill quite a lot of nobles quite quick, making it easier.

After farming everything it's possible to farm in elden ring I'd say that the rarest item in Elden ring is the Watchdog's Greatsword. Because it's a really low chance drop on a mini boss in a late game area. It's dropped by one of the cat miniboss (but this time it's a trashmob and not a miniboss) who is also completely invincible if you dont put it in a light spot (and it's also a gank fight to defeat it).
Bring crystal darts to that fight. The nearby imps are a huge help if you get them into berserk mode.
hardest farm for me was the iron greatsword. every other percentage drop rate farm only took at most 2 hours, that one took 2 days and like 12 hours.
@@Syhyronica Woah you got unlucky on this one. There is also the Duelist Greataxe, it cant be farmed after you defeated Maliketh, so I had to do half of the whole game just to farm this weapon (and the drop rate is so low too).
farm it in the giant's mountaintop catacombs instead, 2 watchdogs in a row, second w/ greatsword--there's no grace but there is a stake of marika right there, so just die to the other watchdog every time it doesn't drop. got 2 this way

He's really not that hard. Not only is there one close to a grace, (which does matter) but there is a slit in the wall by said grace where you can shoot him from and never have to even fight him. He doesn't teleport up to you for some reason.

I think it's faster to farm the Haligtree Great Shield from the grace near Malenia. You just warp there, turn around, go up the elevator, run out of the church, and you're there. By running back and forth between him and the grace, you can get 3 kills during the duration of a Fowl Foot. Only took me maybe 15-20 minutes to get the drop.
Farming for two Magma Blades was much worse, at least on one of my characters.
Rarest drop item in Dark Souls is Titane Slab from Dark Wraith.

Wouldn't the Challenge Rings be the rarest/hardest things to get on DS2? I'm pretty sure doing deathless and bonfire-less runs is considerably harder than the pig thing, and very few people have them I think, as they require a huge amount of time and skill to get.
lot of planning but tbh its doable since you can still powerlevel . pits are biggest enemy for run , its just tedious backtracking which iam lazy to do . rings are not even good at all . any experienced pvper will recognize hidden weapon type

Yeah, a lot of this is misinformation. I farm the ones behind the Putrid Avatar in Haligtree and I have 3 of them. It is rare but is obtainable from any of them.

Ds1 was my very first dark souls game and the sheer luck I had on my first playthrough was absolutely STUPID, and I had no clue until I talked to my friend who had like 100 hours in it. It started when the Taurus demon jumped off the bridge when he still had about 80% HP left, so I just skipped that fight. The channeler at the top of undead parish dropped the trident, I also had the iron golem jump off his arena as well, I got the black knight great sword from the very first black knight and basically just pumped strength and cakewalked the rest of the game.
If we include random drops it has to be an out of shape 31% bloodtinge gem with an acceptable tertiary cursed effect in bloodborne. Some players grind hundreds of hours in the chalices for one.
Did it for a lv43 chikage bt twink build. I think i went mad

I would rename this video to rarest weapon since beyond weapons, the ds1 slabs are atrocious to farm. Titanite slabs from darkwraiths, blue from the crystal cavern butterfly, red slabs from the octopus monsters in izalith and whites from pinwheels outside of nitos boss fog. Heck even sunlight medals in ds2 are a bad farm.
The rarest item is obviously the lands between rune, you only got one shot so you better not miss your chance to blow, its opportunity is once in a lifetime.

There's a rarer item for Elden Ring. The Magma Blade weapon has a 1% drop chance and can only be obtained from 2 Man-Serpent enemies in Volcano Manor. Thankfully, it's worth it since it's a fantastic weapon for Faith builds, and the Ash of War is also really good.
Also the noble slender sword and Noble estoc.
They're like less than 1% drop chance.
It only took me like 5 minutes to get the shield.
The swords took me hours on some characters.
The Celebrant Sickle is worse than the magma blade, it's drop chance is half that of the magma blade and the enemies who drop it are about as scarce.
I think the Fire Prelates Thorned Whip deserves a mention as well. It's drop % is higher but you have to farm the prelate at the mountain top of the giants to get it, and there's no quick or easy way to do that because it has a ton of health and resistances.

Got Haligtree GS on 4 out of 5 Elden Ring characters(did not even farm for it)...I even got the Wandering Noble SS on 3 out of 5 characters as well...Im wondering why people complain about drops.

The amount of times I had to go through the ruins of new londo when I was a kid, made the ghost blade feel like a 20% drop chance item.
The Haligknight shield did actually get outclassed by the Black Knight Greatshield in the DLC. It's got 5% more holy resist and afaik is just dropped by one of the boss health bar black knights you can find.
Very good shield btw, tanked the entirety of that boss's final phase just perfect blocking everything with practically 0 holy damage chipping my health away.

The Haligtree Crest Greatshield does actually drop from the two knights that guard the Elphael Inner Wall site of grace, that’s where I’ve been farming it from. Still incredibly rare to see it drop though.

Calling the penatraters armor thr rarest item isn't correct. Most difficult to get makes more sense. Every copy of Demons Souls for ps5 has the armor on every new game cycle, or in other words, a garenteed drop

For Elden Ring, if you have the DLC, just get the Black Steel Greatshield, at +8 upgrade with sacred infusion you get 100% holy damage negation and 95% physical damage negation, great to use against Twink scourge Radahn in his second phase (don't block the meteorite nuke though) and perfect against the Elden beast.
DS3 hardest item is easily the dark moon blade miracle. You need 30 of an item that’s a 1% drop, shit took hours. Also DS3 has a lot of rings you can only get only NG1 and 2
Elden ring - the Monk's Flameblade is CGS weapon that is ALSO 4% drop chance and off a single enemy in entire game too, so its a tie with the Great shield mentioned
The Nobles Slender Sword in ER has just a 0.5% drop chance and the unaltered banished knights armor is incredibly hard to farm

For Dark Souls 1, I'd argue the Channelers Trident might be a bit rarer. Super low drop chance like the Ghost Blade, and the only two enemies that can be reasonably framed are the Channelers in the Duke's Archives

there's actually 2 far rarer weapons in Elden Ring. I assume most people don't even know they exist. The Celebrant's Rib-Rake and the Celebrant's Sickle only have 0.5% chance to drop from 2 specific enemies each in Windmill Village.
But those enemies are very easy to farm quickly with AOE attacks and a nearby grace. The grind for the Magma Blade is FAR worse since you have to run really far every attempt.

Farmed Celebrants Rib Rake for probably 2-3 hours a day for 2-3 months in 2022, across 3 playthroughs... have NEVER gotten the weapon. Not even bothering trying it since after DLC dropped
In Elden Ring "Celebrant" weapons from the Windmill area maiden dancers are the rarest, can take 4-5 hours sometimes even with max discovery
In dark souls 3, before the murky dagger was introduced via dlc, I lost my mind grinding for it's twin the Harpe. I took me 3 days to get my first one and I gave up on the second.
Actually, i believe the rarest drop in eldenring is a weapon dropped by the dancers in that one village where you fight the godskin apostle
On my recent NG+1 I decided to have all weapons and armor in the game. So I made build with 99 arcane. With silver scarab talisman it's 274 discovery.
So with this build chance of getting, for example, haligtree crest greatshield is 10,84%. So you need to kill this knight on average only 9 times. As you have so many arcane use something with ARC scaling. I used Mogh spear - 1 charged AoW and knight is done. He isn't very close to grace but the way to him is simple and has no other enemies. So it's like 10 minutes at max.
Much harder is to get celebrant's sickle. It's only 0,5% chance. And there are only 2 of them near graces. So it's 36 attempts on average. And they suroounded by many other celebrants so it's better to kil them all to make returning to grace faster. I used sacred relic blade to clean up that place with 3 AoW waves each time. Took me about an hour.
Also damn envoy's greathorn. Chance is pretty good - 4%. But there are only few of them and they placed in very uncomfortable spots. Their ranged attack can kill you ver quickly, they have so many HP, they may fall and if you kill them during their jumping attack loot will appear in the air and you cannot get it.
I’d argue the thorn whip for elden ring, you need to farm a difficult enemy that’s pretty far from any site of grace with a one percent drop chance in the mountaintop of the giants just to get an item that’s worse then the hoslow whip in LITERALLY every conceivable way

Actually it was found out that you don't even need new game + for the penetrator set, you can find all the coins on one playthrough but you to go between white and dark world tendencies (i.e going through a world without dying and then dying a bunch of times.

Already have my attention because the video content is interesting, I don't need the "jingling keys" people tend to use with videos aimed at younger people to hold their attention. I just got the haligtree greatshield the a few days ago, and I have to say that getting the unaltered banished knight armor is much more difficult.
I think the rarest weapon in DS2 is the painting guardian blade, it has very little drop rate of one enemy in particular that only apear one time per playthrough after ng+, the second one is the lion mage crown that it is drop by an enemy that only appears once per playthrough
I've gotten most of these several time by accident. Gotta say that the fire monk great curved sword was way harder to get than haligtree greatshield

I remember the pickaxe. I got it once just for the flex and used it with the pig shield during the height of the game. I used it for invasions. 1 in 10 invasions the host would use the have mercy or prostration emote when i two handed the pickaxe and spammed block to show it off. I like to think they understood the effort I went through to get it and were showing respect.
Then they kicked my ass. Because I'm trash at PvP. But I got to feel important briefly.

IMO the Domino Mask in DS2 is way harder to get even one of it. Dropped by one enemy NPC that only spawns once, on an optional route that leads to basically nowhere, and has a horrible drop rate. Its pretty strong, buffing every spell source damage with -Max HP as a downside.
Although even that wouldn't be the rarest item, ds2 has a ton of them, even without counting the reskin weapons
