That *random metal chunk* is to prevent the connectors from popping off. My sister once dropped her phone and came to me complaining that the volume rockers didn't work. I open it up and see that the ribbon had popped off from the drop.

But I sometimes have bad insomnia and ASMR can help me relax and fall asleep faster, so that's a positive pyschosomatic effect. And it's less harsh (not to mention cheaper) than Melatonin or Ambien !

you have to pull a lot slower on those pull tabs, buddy. It's what they're made for. i've repaired a few 3 xls. just pull and let them stretch, any pull tab that lifts up the battery right away means the adhesive was never good to begin with.
The battery capacity may be more than the iPhone Xs but it's performance is definitely worse And I don't think it's fair to compare the 3 XL with the Xs instead of the Xs Max
