  • We try Indian food in the Golden Temple Amritsar, Punjab, India and go behind the scenes in the largest free mage kitchen of the world. Golden Temple is home to a Langar, a community-run free kitchen and dining hall where food is served around the clock to all visitors, regardless of faith, gender, nationality or economic background. Each day, thousands of people from varied backgrounds come to The Golden Temple, sit on the floor and eat vegetarian food together as equals. In the worlds biggest mega kitchen you can enjoy an amazing Indian food experience. We go behind the scenes and see how huge amounts of curry, chapatis and food is cooked for thousands of people every day.

I am Hindu though I am visiting Chicago gurudwara regularly with my friends in the USA and paying my visit to Gurus(From Guru Nanak dev ji to Guru Govind Singh ji) that I admire a lot. 🙏 Being a Hindu it's our duty to pay regards and visit Gurudwara and pay respect to Gurus that saved us, fought for us in our tough times in Indian history. Key tenets of Sikhism are 1) True Equality amongst entire humanity including Gender Equality 2) Humility 3) Selfless service to humanity 4) Justice to all 5) Honest Earnings 6) Regular remembrance of God. People engaged in the Gurudwara’s Free kitchen espouse almost all the values enlisted above. May God bless both of you.

Langar is much more than a community kitchen. When you eat this food, your karma is settled and you can feel near to God.
Those who work in kitchen or perform various volunteering duties(also known as SEVA), one can settle a huge chunk of pending karma. It really helps in reducing mental and emotional sufferings of a person to a huge extent. It is so because it's a service to God by serving those created by him.
Really glad to see you washing dishes. You have no idea how much of a previous lifetimes of karma you have settled.

langar theory is based on the principle that no one should sleep with empty stomach irrespective of the fact which religion u follow, one interesting fact: u will never see a sikh begger anywhere in world bcz their religion teaches them to work hard and never beg in front of anyone, i have travelled a lot but have never seen a sikh begger.

Actually many temples and gurudwara's serve free food some weekly or some on daily basis.
But the magnitude of food being served at the golden temple is just fascinating.

I haven't visited it yet, but I'll one day. Didn't know they serve food in the night as well. I believe you were amazed have such experience. Hope, one day in this world people will treat each other with respect regardless their colour, gender, ethnicity, culture, religion and financial status. Kudos to the temple and volunteers as they have set an example of how we should treat others and spread love.

As I told you in the last video, this is the World's Largest Community kitchen, forget every intricacies of religion, is there anything more important than serving daily food to millions of people without asking the social status. Spirituality wins here, For a very important information Which you might know, Richest of richest people go there and volunteer in cooking, serving, dish washing etc.
I know you guys will travel the globe, But I bet you will never found anything like this. Will give you other community kitchen names in India
