We came to Punjab specifically to eat. We tried a ton of Indian street food all over the streets of India and made a great street food vlog you will love. Almost all the Indian temples offer free meals to the devotees.. Tirumala tirupati Lord venkateshwara temple also has such a huge kitchen and offers meals 3times a day for free they serve milk, buttermilk and prasadams
These types of sikh temple(Gurudwara) are spread all across India and best part is they provide free meal to everyone,you can do volunteer work as well or donate if you want.They will even provide a drink or juice to the people travelling in buses for free,that's how they do charity work.
I love sikh community and their hospitality....I would love to be a sikh in my next life.....

I had a chance to stay in Chandigarh for 4-5 months for official purpose few years back. I was blown away by their simplicity, their culture, their food, their love for fellow beings, their generosity, their helping nature, and much more. Sikhs are indeed great people. Sikhism is a very new religion as compared to christianity. Guru Nanak wrote the main doctrine of Sikhism, and according to history, he was a very educated man, who travelled across asia and into the middle east. So it is very possible that sikhism took into consideration aspects of other religions and kind of summarized/got rid of/ created new ways to appreciate life.

You gave me another sight of it, from a different angle.
I am not religious in a specific way (I wasborn and raised christian), but I feel connected to nature and kindness against all being. The warmth and willingness to help of the volunteers inspire me.
Also they welcome every human being (not just in absolute and desperate need) to a free meal, which is amazing.
I will never understand, that people are hated for skin-colour, religion, believes or sexual interests. This is an example of how to behave against others.

I think u Missed the inside Coca-Cola Shops where you get Beverages at a Low Price . Overall Visiting Golden Temple is An Amazing Experience for Everyone .

Hi Trevor, every minor act that you did in this video - wearing a brand new kurta , sporting the turban (I have watched 100s of hosts giving a tour of Golden Temple but never anyone wearing a turban), assisting in the kitchen and not rating the food - you paid respect to this holy place and to the most helpful community in the world and i am sure in return you would have earned respect of 10s of 1000 people who would watch this video.

I really appreciate the concept of langar in Sikhism. In every gurudwara they offer food to anyone who is hungry. Regardless of you religion, past, colour or country. The people volunteering there are from rich to poor. From rohingya crisis to earthquakes in Nepal, they have organised langars to help people for thousand of people everyday. Spread love.
