Congratulations Ash on your 1000+ subscribers. I have just found you and am delighted to find another Australian podcaster. I live in Canberra and am an avid sock knitter. I watch Summer Lee’s podcasts and you both share the same passion for sock knitting. I would love to knit the Seafarer socks.
Thank you and welcome! I love interacting with fellow sock knitters! Summer Lee (if you couldn't already tell) is a huge inspiration for me! I wish I could carry my enthusiasm for socks into every part of my daily life!
Yay 1.5k subscribers now, congrats 🥳. As I’m still a fairly new sock knitter I would love to try a simple colour work sock and discover some other heel constructions. I often use toiletry bags for my sock or beanie projects. Wow 🤩 love the colour of the fibre you choose to spin and the spun yarn looks amazing. Would also love to learn how to spin.
Thank you! Thank you! I found stripes as a first dive into colour super fun and easy! Toiletry bags would be great project bags for small knits and they come in so many cute patterns! Cat & Sparrow have such fun fibre colours!
You are my colour inspiration friend, you always choose the cutest patterns and the best colours! I’m actually knitting on my turtle dove while I watch! Don’t worry about the vlog, sometimes that happens and your health in real life is always more important 💜
Girl you are doing it all! knitting socks, a vest, a sweater and spinning! daaamn I love it!! I'm really trying to enter my knitting socks era, so this patterns recommendations are all that I need! 💖Now that summer is coming here in Chile, socks are the perfect knitting project!
Haha it's that neurodivergence in me that always wants something new to work on! It's a blessing and a curse! Socks are great because their not too much of a commitment and then are so easy to wear!
Congratulation on 1k subscribers, Ashlee! Love your upbeat and lovely podcast! I would knit the Colorwork Sock, love the others as well. Summer Lee’s socks patterns are so much fun to knit! Thanks for sharing! Continue success with your awesome podcast! Happy knitting! ❤
You are well beyond 1K! Congrats! I finally got my knitting mojo back so I'm looking forward to knitting up some socks! I'd like to start with Summer Lee's Shorty socks.
Congrats on reaching your first 1K subscribers, well beyond that now. Love watching Summer Lee's sock knitting podcasts, I've knitted a few of hers. Sort missed out on her monthly colour cuff, I'll have to be more attentive for next year's release. I do like to make the colour block ribbed socks
Congratulations on your first 1k!!!🎉🎉🎉Way to go!!! Always enjoy watching your podcast, love your colors, they make me happy ❤🥰 Honey comb and moss socks are definitely on my list, whenever the temperature is dropping, I feel the need for cables on my needles 😁
I love knitting socks so much, but I have only knit plain vanilla socks so far. So, I would definitely choose a textured sock from the book, one with cables for sure!
Oh my goodness! Congratulations on reaching beyond 1k now! I’ve only knitted p,aim vanilla socks so I’m excited to knit any of the patterns in the book!!😊😊😊. I enjoy your channel so so much.
Congrats on 1000 subs and thanks for another fun podcast! I'm not sure which socks I would pick to knit first - maybe the Scrimshaw? That Erstwilder brooch is amazing too. Thanks for the chance to win x
Congratulations! I love textured knit socks❤ Summer Lee is an amazing sock designer. I’d love to knit the Soma socks. I’m excited to watch your future podcasts and videos!
congratulations!! such an exciting milestone!! 🎉🎉 love the podcast, it's so wonderful to hear you talk about your projects with such care!! I would love to venture into the color work sock knits or the ribbed socks!
Thank you! It's nice after hobby hopping for so long to find something I'm truly passionate about! You should totally try colorwork! It's very satisfying!
Hello! I just discovered your channel and I love it! I don’t have the sock book yet but that cabled sock on the cover is likely going to be my very first cast on when I do get it. I’m a sucker for cables!! Keep up the great work!
Congrats on hitting 1K subs. 🎉 Being in Melbourne Australia as well I love seeing the yarn choices you make and how they knit up. I will just start with plain vanilla socks as I have never knitted socks before and I’m sure her book would make it easy to understand.
Thank you so much! It's great to meet a fellow Melbournian! I would suggest checking out the Crazy Sock Lady on TH-cam. She has a whole hour-long tutorial that shows you how to knit a vanilla sock from start to finish. It's how I taught myself to knit socks! It's a game-changer!
Congratulations what a great milestone 🎉 i think there is a pattern with a little cable down the side in the book, I think that would be super cute to knit 💕
I love finding Knitting Podcasters that are Australian and a similar age to me! Loving the progress on your Salty Days sweater too :) What a generous prize! Congratulations on 1K subscribers - you'll be at 2K in no time! I've just started sock knitting - and the lace work on the Camellia looks divine, so they would be the first pair I'd want to make.
Congratulations! I’m really enjoying your podcasts. Don’t worry about your vlog, you need to do what is best for you and what you are comfortable putting out into the world. From the book I’d knit the Quinata socks I think!
I enjoy your podcast so much, Ashlee ❤❤❤your projects are all very inspiring and I have to say it again: you choose THE BEST COLOURS every time!!!! Who cares for the many cast-ons. More projects, more fun 🤩 happy knitting!!!
Thank you Daniela! ❤️❤️❤️ I always look forward to seeing your comments!! You're 100% right! (Also FYI I just realised I wasn't subscribed on this channel but I was on my other Google account which is why it looks like I just subscribed now 😅
Congrats on 1k Ash! I’ve already got the sock project book (after you influenced me 😂) and love it so much! As always your color choices are so inspiring to me. And I loveeee your Salty Days sweater!
Thanks Sarah! ❤️❤️❤️ Don't worry I've strong-armed most of the people in my knitting group too! As always, we are envious of each other colour palettes 🤣🤣
Congratulations on your 1k. I’m also loving the colour work socks from Summer Lee. I did both for August, but September didn’t take my fancy so I’m waiting patiently 😊 for October’s release
Congratulations on hitting 1k subscribers! I started following you in spring and I'm always excited when you post a new video! I would knit the Linea socks from the book first, they look like so much fun :)
Congrats on 1k! Your content is so wholesome and lovely to watch, and I definitely think your channel will continue to grow :) I have the colourwork cuff club but haven't gotten around to knitting any of the patterns - you're definitely inspiring me to make time for them. And I love hearing about the dopamine rush you get from stash-busting. I was stash-busting all summer and I hated it so we're the complete opposite in that sense 😂 I'd knit the linea socks!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you commented because now I have discovered you and your gorgeous Sweet Shop Blanket! I'm sorry your stash-busting hasn't been quite as satisfying! I can't remember who said this but they said something along the lines of: "I should use my stash yarn because there was obviously something about it that made me love it/buy it (and I doubt that opinion has changed)!"
Congrats on hitting 1k! I’m a recent follower and I love how cheerful and colorful your videos are. I would love to knit the scandiland socks. Love your Colorwork cuff club sock! I used pink for mine but love the yellow on yours.
Thank you so much! That's so nice of you! The Scandiland socks are gorgeous and now that I've done some colourwork I am keen to cast those on! Your pink colourwork cuff sock sounds delicious!
Congratulations on the success of your channel Ash! That is such a generous and amazing prize you are offering. I would have to start at the very beginning of the book with the first sock and build my skills from there.
Congratulations on hitting your 1k milestone. I am sorry you are having a hard time with the vlog, and I think recording a video talking about your trip is an excellent idea. I had a look through the sock project patterns, and I think I'd do the Soma socks. What really interests me about the book, though, is the basic sock patterns for the different heel types - I would love to expand my experience with sock construction methods 😊
Hello from bc Canada. Love all your sweaters. You’re a joy to watch. ❤ I’d love to try an all ribbing sock from summers new book. What a wonderful package you’ve put together. Looking forward to the next podcast.
Congrats on 1k subs. I love your podcast you're always so enthusiastic about your projects and I love that you try lots of different colourways for your projects. I am currently knitting colourwork "Moomin troll" socks for my son and daughter in law in Finland which are a lot of fun. They are in 8ply so are not taking too long to knit. I would like to try lace socks from Summer Lee's book along with different heels and also toe up socks. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to do your podcast and happy knitting. ❤
You're so nice, thank you! You gotta take the time to enjoy things! I was looking at that Moomin book the other day and the patterns are so cute! You're so kind to knit them such gorgeous socks! I would keep them all to myself hahaha Happy knitting to you too!
Congratulations on reaching 1K 🎉 I would love to knit the Soma socks from the book they look so feminine 😊 The colours of your vest are beautiful I have used the Silk Mohair from Julie at Little Woolies and it knit up fantastic. Your Salty Days sweater is coming along nicely , I need to get back to mine soon but I am busy with test knits this week and then I am planning to do the Westknits MKAL 😮
Wow, thank you! You've got a lot of knitting to do but I'm sure you'll fly through it! I love the texture of the soma; it's interesting without because too much! Little Woollies has such a great selection of hand-dyed yarns!
So happy to have found you. Loving Aussie content. I'm a fairly new sock knitter ( four pairs. Yay me!) and would want to try something I haven't done before so probably a pattern with colour work from Summer's book.
I love all of your WIP's. I really wish I could use colour combo's like you, your colour combo's are always phenomenal :) As for the Sock Project Book - I think I would like to make the Scrimshaw Socks!
Thank you and you totally can! My friends who are more neutral girlies are hesitant to wear colours because it might not work with their wardrobe but having a closet full of neutrals is great because they do match everything - including bright colours!
Morning 😊 I love the jumper you are wearing in this podcast. I’ve just started knitting socks and can do an almost even vanilla sock so want to do one with a pattern, maybe a rib sock ❤. Congratulations on your 1K milestone 🎉
Thanks! It's really interesting trying all the heel types because they all fit slightly differently. I feel like I'm on a quest to find the perfect fit by trying them all!
Congrats on 1k Ash! I’ve already got the book and love it so much! As always your color choices are so inspiring to me. And I loveeee your Salty Days sweater!
Hi Ash! I was so sad to hear that you were going through a tough time. You and your channel bring such light and love to my day that it hurts my heart to hear you were sad. Hopefully things are looking a lot brighter now. Summer Lee is my sock guru - I adore absolutely everything she puts out. Which pair to make would be a tough decision. In an attempt to conjure up some warmer weather I think I would go with one of the lace pattern ones. Keep smiling girlfriend!
Thank you, Priscilla! I feel like a world away from where I was only a couple of months ago! All helped by the love and support from my friend ssand family and the lovely people like you that make up this knitting community ❤️
Yay congratulations! It was hard to pick which sock I’d knit first. But probably the surf wax socks. Also that pencil case is so darn cute. I went and picked one up for myself 😊 the perfect spring/summer sock knitting bag.
Hoi from The Netherlands! Congrats on your 1k!!! I've been following since if i remember correctly the channel was around 300 followers haha! Great to see your channel growing and reaching more people!!! For the giveaway, I would love to make the same sock set like which you showed, the Colorwork cuff club sock! Those look adorable in the color combo and simply screams fall to me!!
Hoi! I feel so special that you've been with me from the start and we've kind of been on this journey together! You should definitely give the cuff club a go!!
That Otto project bag from Officeworks looks so cute. I already entered on your Instagram post , but I think I'd knit a shorty sock from the book first.
Hello from Melbourne! This might be weird but Oklahoma is my favourite US city. I have never visited the US but I've read a whole book about Oklahoma randomly and it has a very cool history! And you should give the colour cuff club a go!
Oooh I can’t wait to knit Little Boxes by Summer Lee! I’ve been eyeing them on my instagram feed and I just love the magical combinations people make with the colors!❤❤❤
I'm knitting the Salty days too size S and also didn't have any issues with row 5, i even went back and rechecked I hadn't missed anything after seeing how many people had trouble 🤷♀. I've been eyeing the little boxes socks from summer lee but cant think of a colour palette
your podcast is always my favorite but i NEED to know what you're wearing!! what's the yarn, what's the beautiful tweed?? holy cow i need to make something like that immediatley
Omg thank you!!!! It's the Eva Cardigan by PetiteKnit in Patons Dreamtime Merino held with Rico Creative MakeItTweed. I knit this before going size-inclusive on the channel but it's a great knit!
Congratulations on hitting (& passing) your first 1K 🎉 ... I started knitting in mid July this year & my first socks were by Crazy Sock Lady so I'm pretty adventurous so would love to knit any of Summer Lee's patterns 😍 how exciting a mystery sock yarn ❤ ❇️ Susannah in Perth 🦘
Thank you! I learnt how to knit socks for the first time by watching the Crazy Sock Lady too! She's great! Enjoy the rest of your sock-knitting journey because it has only just begun! 😊
Nice content Ash. Your channel was recommended through a french podcaster I follow here on youtube. Your Surf Wax Socks are so so pretty ! Should I win the book, I would knit those :) Thank you, expecting your next podcast very soon !
Hi! Fairly new subscriber. I don’t have the sock project book yet but I am part of the color work club and want to do the first months color work sock with the flowers. I’ve never done color work on a sock and really want to try it.
Love the colour work cuff socks! Did you size back down to a 2.25mm after you finished the colour work? I have downloaded the pattern but haven’t read through it yet and I think if I knit socks on a 2.75 mm they would practically look like fishnet stockings because my tension is so loose. Congrats on 1k!
Thank you! Yes, I did size down to a 2.25mm needle after the colour work! I forgot to mention that sorry! I remember you mentioning your looser gauge in your last podcast episode so I would definitely not recommend 2.75mm for the main sock unless you're feeling particularly raunchy😉😂
I'm just finishing the sleeves of my Salty days sweater, I've pick up 81 stitches around armhole and than just knit according to pattern, on the lace section I need to cast one more stich, I'v got 8 pattern repeats. Maybe it helps to you.
I love the Harriet sock pattern! I love how the second cable fades out at the heel

Good morning! Thank you! It's the Eva Cardigan by PetiteKnit. Unfortunately, it's not size-inclusive but it is a lovely garment to knit!
Congratulations on your milestone! So exciting!
I don’t know the name of the pattern, but I love the ones that look like mini polka dots.
I think they're called the Flea Stitch Socks! They're a great intro into colourwork! Thank you for the congrats!
Congratulations! I would try a colorwork cuff pattern. Or I would knit sock tubes and knit all of the heels to see which one I like the best.

Yay for spinning! 🙌
Just found our podcast, and really love your video style!
if i had to knit a sock from the book it would be the linea socks.
Thank you!!

That Otto project bag from Officeworks looks so cute. I already entered on your Instagram post , but I think I'd knit a shorty sock from the book first.

Hello, I never knit colorwork in socks. Now I have a chance.😂
Congratulations on hitting (& passing) your first 1K 🎉 ... I started knitting in mid July this year & my first socks were by Crazy Sock Lady so I'm pretty adventurous so would love to knit any of Summer Lee's patterns 😍 how exciting a mystery sock yarn ❤

Thank you! I learnt how to knit socks for the first time by watching the Crazy Sock Lady too! She's great! Enjoy the rest of your sock-knitting journey because it has only just begun! 😊
So awesome!!! I want the summer Lee book 📖. If I don’t win it here. I will still get it. I want to learn how to do the color work socks 🧦
I would definitely still pick it up if you don't happen to win!
Nice content Ash. Your channel was recommended through a french podcaster I follow here on youtube.
Your Surf Wax Socks are so so pretty ! Should I win the book, I would knit those :)
Thank you, expecting your next podcast very soon !
Thank you! I would love to know who the podcaster is so I can check them out!
@@SmashKnits hi Ash, the podcaster is @madamebibiche 😊
Hi! Fairly new subscriber. I don’t have the sock project book yet but I am part of the color work club and want to do the first months color work sock with the flowers. I’ve never done color work on a sock and really want to try it.
Welcome!!
ive only just found you and love your vibe wish we lived closer so we could hang out lol
Thank you! I would've loved that! I always enjoying meeting new knitting friends!
Hello, Im new to knitting and just bought socks yarn to do plain vanilla socks 😍 I enjoyed watching you , 🥰 I hope I win 💕
Good luck!! Thank you!
Thanks for the tip!!!
