I traded my lvl 100 rayquaza from emerald on the gts to get one, sadly that doesn't work anymore as the gts closed down. Why was munchlax so hard to get Game Freak?

I actually got really lucky when playing Diamond back in 2007 because shortly after beating the elite 4 I found a Munchlax from a honey tree. I didn’t realize at the time how rare it was but I still own it and it’s a level 100 Munchlax

Didn't happen to me with combee, because didn't find it interesting enough to prioritize and heard about the condition before trying to go for vespiqueen, but did essentially the same thing with Salazle in Sun&Moon.

I made the same mistake on my first playthrough. Got to level 29 before I finally broke down and googled the problem.

Platinum actually fixed this. Diamond and Pearl had this problem, but thankfully Platinum only does that when you’ve been playing the game for too damn long.

I got together with about 9 friends last Thanksgiving, and since we've been replaying Gen 4, we did the Underground together like old times. Just as fun as we remembered
I loved being able to get fossils and stones aside from like 2 or 3 hidden items, I just don't like actually mining, it's really tedious.
I remember making my base into a giant trap house and then setting up this overly complicated rube goldberg machine that sent my friend to the other side of the map when he tried to leave. Needless to say I was rolling when it actually worked.
Imagine picking Platinum to be your first Nuzlocke then losing your Starter to a lvl 30 Goldeen’s Horn Drill. Definitely can’t be me.

3 before ? Or even 2 and 1 ? Usually when someone beat Cynthia for the first battle, he have been played ( sorry for this sentence if isn't right ,i'm french ) at the other generations like me. I had Staraptor, Lucario, Luxray ( the electric lion ), Floatzel, Torterra ( french name of the 2nd évolution of the grass starter ) and an other ( not legendary ) : I beat Cynthia without Dialga because i use my balls in the Moutain for Bronzong ( master ball, i haven't the choice ). All of my pokemon at this moment went Levels 59-65 and Torterra 70 but he has been the CS Slave.
I forgot how slow the health goes down. Especially annoying for Pokémon that put all their points into HP.
In most cases this isn't really a problem, there are like 10 Pokémon where it's really bad, but other than that it's pretty normal. Multihits though...
Good for him that he didn't play Diamond/Pearl instead, those games are slow as hell, Platinum is pretty tolerable in comparison.

Gen 4 games are great, but damn are they a pain to play sometimes. The snow routes, the marsh, the fog, the battle that take years to finish...
Thankfully, the amazing soundtrack makes it more tolerable.
Hey, at least the partner trainers are much better than the green units in Fire Emblem

Especially when the mission is to keep theme alive. They always want to go and fight to only fall down to 3 health

@@saucymongoose7246 It depends on whether you think e4 and gym leaders should stick with their type, or if you think they should focus on being more difficult/varied. I like them being more varied, but given how they're supposed to be based on one type its a bit annoying.
@@BillyBob-xx5jr i always perfered typing over varied. Could just be gen 2 bias but I'm so used to gyms having one type and having counters for their weakness that i don't think I'd be for change of said formula. Honestly only person that should he varied is the champion. Reason being is that in a way, the champion represents the player. They went through the gym challenge, captured many different pokemon, and used said varied team to take the chanpion seat and that's what you will do through your journey. If anything i wish that as champion, you would get challenged by random trainers and the elite 4 members for your spot. And maybe if you lose to an elite 4 member. You'd just take their spot and have to challenge them to get your spot back.
@@BillyBob-xx5jr I never thought Elite 4 members or Champions should have mono type teams. We're facing off against the best of the best and they should have teams that I can't steamroll with one Pokemon. I think Elite 4 should have more strategic or somewhat competitive teams or ones based on a certain theme like color, having almost no weaknesses, a more offensive or defensive based team and etc.

Only a week? I got stuck for about 4 months. I even erased my data to evolve the other starters because i kept mashing the A button without reading the text
English isn't my mother tongue (and Pokémon isn't in Dutch, so it's the best I had) and it took me *ages* to understand how to use Rock Smash to go to Floaroma Town
When I was 10 years old, I was stuck in Floaroma Town for like 2 weeks because my small brain didn’t think to check if the grunt moved at the top-right part of the town. I just sat my ass down and grinded in the wild grass, trying to catch a damn Silcoon and leveling my Grotle until it evolved.
If you were barely literate at 7 years old the blame is on you /s

So I just googled her team to get the joke and I kid you not, something's amiss. The first time you battle her, she has a LV 17 Purugly (LV 16 in diamond and pearl), BUT glameow doesn't evolve until LV 38. I have no idea what commander Mars did to achieve that.

I remember one time I played through the entirety of Platinum to reach Giratina and soft reset for a shiny one just to flex on my friend who was trying to get one for months. Even got a random shiny budew that I evolved to a Roserade. Good times.
