Rated operating capacity is usually a fraction of tipping load (30% or 50%) at worst case position of the radial path.
They usually spec 30 or 50% because when you move around and roll over terrain discontinuities you don’t tip over from attachment oscillations.
I agree with you about the small size being easier to tow and cheaper for parts repair.
It’s also great for tight space movement.

I’ve been looking at the t450 as a replacement for little bob.. such a bigger machine than little bob though.. so true about bobcat specs too. Them machines will lift so much more than the lift capacity states... keep up the great work buddy 👍🏻

Really cool! Might need to start looking at that t450. Been thinking of a t590 or 190 for dirt work and this 450 would basically be a tracked version of what I already have

The specs are to full height. Not just to get the load off the ground. Thsts why your breakout force is alot higher then lift compacity.
Thanks for the demo. I have a t140 and it's a beast. I had a brand new s250, and i would take the t140 over it any day.

I have a t450 also. I'm about to see if it will lift some pavers
lifting off ground and set down doesn't really help, you gotta transport those blocks and load/off load without tipping on your face
i clicked on this video because i wear the same hat. which is a really stupid reason to click on a video. but then i got interested in what was actually going on. i’ve got a t740 on the way and now i know it can handle more then the specs say.

Specs are bullshit.. i have 2018 t450 2speed can lift and do anything t650 can.. i can lift full pallets 3500lbs brickpavers out of trailers..tears out 10 inch concrete with forks like nothing..full pallets of sod.. best bobcat ever imo after 35 years of operating 100s
Just depends on what you’re doing. I recommend everyone demoing before buying a new unit to see what works best for them. Specs are very low on machines.
That's hollow block . This machine will not lift a full pallet of brick pavers. My old t590 did but tippy. My t595 lifts completely off the ground
@@rontopping2048 Bullshit im a brickpaver contractor it lifts and moves pallets out of my trailer everyday for 3 years now im able to lift 3500lb pallets off the side of a semi truck you have no fookin clue.
Has anyone used jackhammer attachment on s450?? I am looking to buy one for breaking concrete sidewalks.
I haven’t. You could always rent one from your local dealer to see how it does before purchasing one.
I have a 2016 t550 two speed @1950 capacity,
I also have a 2020 S140 3100 lbs capacity,
The t550 lifts a lot more than s140 and Much more safely

like you say, its a cheaper machine all around, 7500lb class insted of 10k, you can move that thing around with a f150 all day

I bought a 22 t450 and it can barely pick up have a pallet of block
What am I doing wrong
All depends on what it weighs.
It also depends on its setup. Anything that has electronics between you and the hydraulics will artificially limit actions to save wear. I've found that hand and foot controls are a lot easier to push to their limit vs joysticks.
I have a t450 and it is able to lift but not able to function with any kind of weight on it. A full bucket load will tip it over if it goes above the operators cheat hight. Standard bucket that came with the machine it's extremely small so please don't tell me it's too large for the machine. The machine beats a shovel and a wheelbarrow but he'll if you get it wet as in work in muddy areas it gets stuck easily and it throws codes it is also bad for having to replace the acs actuator $900 a piece. Mine broke down last week and when I called to get a rental bobcat they asked if it was going to get wet so this is not machine specific.
The 1400 lbs is its rated operating capacity which mean 35% tipping load the tipping load is 4000lbs so its can easily pick up over the 35% rated capacity obviously just people dont realise what all these ratings mean. On a side note we have one of these t450 at work i think it sucks we bought it new and if you get a full bucket and try to boom up on it easy it starts dropping the boom i think its dangerous we told the dealer about it and they said oh yeah thats just wat they do. Ive never ran a machine that does that that didnt have an internal leak somehwere and this things done it since new did yours do that too?
what size bucket do yall have on it? something sounds like it may be bypassing some where.
@@stedder8436 4 foot bucket but yea weve told the dealer about it and they said they've tried to change some setting in the computer to fix it but it doesnt do anything it still drops the boom when I boom up on it weve had the machine probably 2 years it's been a piece of junk since we got it we would get something else if we could but we need a machine that's 4 foot wide to fit in trenches for back filling but no other companies make a machine that narrow that has a cab and joystick controls
@@windzer I believe the unit is 56 inches from track to track. You probably have a 5 ft bucket on it. I’m assuming something may be bypassing in the control valve. Y’all should probably have a good mechanic check it out. It really sucks that your individual dealer doesn’t seem up to par.
