Bear Coming After Me In Gatlinburg

- I Messed up Big Time doing this ..So I'm posting this to show you all NOT to do what my stupid @## did..
Getting a Bear from being hit by a car results in my stupid self getting too close to the animal, resulting in being chased for a few feet ..Whew!

DO NOT Do what I did here ..My stupid Self getting too close ..I just wanted it to get as far away from the highway as possible..then I saw it eating the bread someone tossed and I tried to get it to leave ..like an idiot 😞 This is the first time In 30 years a bear has done this ..Again, it's my fault, I wasn't thinking and I clearly knew better ..At least I kept it from getting hit in the traffic 🙏 🐻

Well now that it's out there, it should be put down as it acted aggressively instead of fleeing. Right by the Bhat Thai restaurant in GB. Way to go, you just caused another bear to be put down.

It got away from the traffic and was laying in the grass by the river. You approached it. You weren’t saving the bear. That was dumb. Should have left it alone.

People that do this AND post it should ALL BE FINED A HEFTY FINE!!! Shame on you to even think it was OK to do this, like is it your "job" to show idiots what not to do?? We see this all the time, and then what what's happens??? They EUTHANIZE these poor bears, it's their mountains, not ours. This made me so angry, so disappointed in you at your choice to do this.

Please take this video down!! You admit you should have not chased the bear yet you posted the video anyway. This is not any kind of awareness anyone needs. Everyone knows not to chase a bear! Literally everyone! Except you apparently. I reported this to the police. I sent it to two different divisions. I am a local and advocate for the bears and you basically just got this one killed. You basically just taught him that a human is a threat.
Bears SHOULD see humans as a threat, if I was TWRA I would make the capture and relocation of a bear a very bad experience, these animals need to associate these cities with bad news and stay in the woods. Don’t go giving me the “it was their home first” stuff either. Gatlinburg has been around longer than any living bear today so that argument is done. Humans and bears can’t live amongst each other in these cities, wild animals are too unpredictable and humans too stupid. Best case is bears stay in the woods scared of humans.

I don’t blame the bear one bit I get you was trying to save it from getting hit by the traffic then you want to follow it down a back alley it wasn’t hurting anything then you got to close and the bear let you know. That’s what is so wrong with locals and tourists they think let me see how close I can get to scare it off it was in a back alley not hurting anybody. Yes it might had something but you progress it to that level and want the views.

For people who aren’t from this area black bears are extremely common to see and if you must know the black bear is more scared of you then you are of it also do be aware of the elk to they can be just as bad as a mad bear ❤

I live down in Maryville and now I know why they are coming to visit me, and I'm 54 miles down from Gatlinberg. Crazy, Did you make the post down in the Cove trying to tell that Mother bear to go and got charged? People can't realize that these are wild and to be left alone with out Fruit Cakes like up doing this for profit?
Same thing happened to me right after the fires. We were walking around looking at burned out cabins up near Parkview. We surprised a big bear that was eating something and when we startled it, he came at me just like this one did. Scared the *%#$ out of me.
And you weren't even following it around and approaching it

I wasn't messing with the bear ..I was getting it from being hit by traffic as you can see ...I messed up trying to get it further away from traffic but that's not *messing* with them ..I just don't want them getting hurt 🙏

That bear came across the busy street knowing where the bread was going to be at. Find out who is feeding him and he will get to live to see another day
