This is a video I took on my Honeymoon. For some reason TH-cam is recommending it to people and now has over 50,000 views.
A few years back Viral Hog contacted me and wanted to buy the rights. I was skeptical, but after checking them out I found out they were legit. So I gave them rights. After a couple of years they sent me a check for $225.00 . Now, a couple of more years later TH-cam is blowing it up. Looking at my account with Viral Hog, TH-cam is paying me anywhere from 1 to 5 cents a month, so I won’t be retiring anytime soon.
To answer questions about this video.
First of all, I posted it to TH-cam because at the time I couldn’t get Facebook to upload it.
The cover was taken off by me after chasing off the bear. The homeowners had just bought the new cover the day before.
Yes the music is irritating and I regret using it but since it is part of the contracted video it can’t be changed. Sorry ...lower you volume.
This was right before the fire swept thru Gatlinburg and this house was completely destroyed. Since then the house has been rebuilt and the bear has been seen, so he survived the fire.
I give the bear a couple days and he’ll figure out the controls. He’ll have the heat and jets adjusted to his liking.
why do I picture him with sun glasses chatting up lady bears and drinking a mohito?

I know he has to hunt for his own food,live in the wilderness. He doesn't seem to have a mate. I'm sure things can get ruff for him sometimes. He just needed to take a break.

Lenny, you invited a bear into your hot tub by removing the cover so it could get in -- black bears are not pets! Perhaps you can use the proceeds from the video to pay your fine.
And this will soon have millions of views and be on TV all around the world.
The homeowner is pretty cool. Have to acknowledge that. He doesn’t harass the bears to harshly.

Before I read the note that you took the cover off I was thinking bears opening a car door was a big deal, now they can uncover hot tubs. I'm glad he survived the fire. Hope he got a new hot tub.
They can and did. I lived outside Asheville, NC and a bear had no trouble flipping it off. I had to throw tennis balls at him to get off my deck.
I like to try out all the facilities when I visit a place. Good job I managed to get the hot-tub to myself. I don't know why no-one came out to join me? I could see people in the house, they could have brought me out some snacks. That would have been friendly but they are not very sociable here.

People enjoy the hot tub. So why wouldn't a bear. Lol
Watching that warmed my soul. That said, I come from a family who buys pies to leave out for their visiting fox. Bears may be dangerous to humans but they are beautiful animals and brilliant to watch. The closest I've come to one was about a foot away through toughened glass at Skansen park in Stockholm, amazing experience. So glad this boy survived the fire.
And, in the end, they are far less too is than we to them.
They aren't evil, just other creatures we share the planet with.

Bears can rip open locked car doors. They can rip camper shells off of pickup trucks. I'm pretty sure that they can rip a locked cover from a hot tub. From the looks of it, it seems that the bear does less damage, by simply getting in the open hot tub.

Oh, I thought the music was good and went perfectly with a bear spending some time in a hot tub. Did the homeowner go out and somehow take the tub cover off? Because all of a sudden it is folded up neatly next to the house.
He says in a comment that he did. My guess is they took it off so the bear wouldn't destroy it, maybe? Just a guess though! But if it was a choice between him ripping it up and them taking the cover off, the latter seems a lot cheaper lol.
