    Great advice - such a wise old head on a young person your parents should be very proud of you, best of luck for your future. Any tips on places to visit at UAE if doing a flying 1 day visit during summer holidays to give my daughter a taste of the vibe of the place bearing in mind current restrictions mean it will mainly just be walking around outside.

      Hi Richard, sorry for my late response, but hopefully it's still handy.
      Thank you! that's very kind of you.
      To get the most out of the day, I recommend booking a campus tour with UEA (link: www.uea.ac.uk/visit/campus-tours). That way you don't get lost on your own and have more time to look around and possibly go into town.
      My recommendations are relatively simple: get a feel for the campus, by just walking around, so it won't be such a shock when she moves in. It's quite a huge campus, but the main things are very central - UEA square, Take a walk through the students union (maybe have a cup of coffee there). Depending on what your daughter is studying, have a look at the building/lecture room she'll be going to, e.g. if she's studying geography, have a look at the art building/Julian study centre, provided they're open and the library. The 'Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts' is also a lovely visit on campus - they have various art exhibitions throughout the year.
      Lastly, I would recommend going into town, Chantry place (formerly known as Chapelfield) so she knows what shops she has nearby and it may also help her decide what she'll need to bring from home or what she could get in town. Food in town is also a lot more varied and cheaper than the campus kitchen.
      Two generally nice places to see in Norwich (if you have time):
      1. St John the Baptist Cathedral
      2. Plantation Garden
      I hope this helps and please feel free to ask any more questions and if I can help, I definitely will✨

      @@destinynkechi3053 TY very much great info we are staying for 2 nights now and arrive on one of the tour days so will book one of them (she is applying for Physiotherapy and also wanting to check out the Pool for swimming which is her main sport but might give rowing a try for a change after 10 years of swimming)

      Hey, you download an app call 'Enlitened' and answer the questions on the app (it will direct you once you download it), then you get 10 other people to sign up using a link you send them and once you've got your points, go to the SU shop on campus to claim the jumper. They may have put it on hold for a bit cos of everything happening, but it may start up again in January. Be on the lookout cos noone knows about it so it's easy to miss😂✨

    This is a great video! I'm going to UEA next month and I wanted to ask how much the local buses normally cost e.g to the local Aldi and Tesco as well as town and do joining sports like netball and cheer leading cost a lot of money to maintain? Thank you!!

    • @destinynkechi3053
      @destinynkechi3053  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Welcome to UEA!!🎉
      1. The local buses cost £3.80 for a day pass (student price) . One tip I would give is to download the 'first buses' app and get your tickets on there, it's only 20p cheaper (£3.60) but its also handy to not have to carry a paper ticket around which is easier to lose✨
      2. Joining sports can be a little pricey but I believe it is worth it in terms of maintaing fitness and engaging with others + just getting out. You buy a £50 SAM for the year which allows access to all sports + the membership fee which differs between sports ( I think netball is £20 but not completely sure). Both are annual payments✨

    Please what is the number of words required for the personal statement for an MSc program

    • @destinynkechi3053
      @destinynkechi3053  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not 100% sure, but according to google:
      A Master's personal statement should be around 500 words. This equates to one side of A4. However, some universities require more, often two sides.

    • @destinynkechi3053
      @destinynkechi3053  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey @Safi, do you mean African food shops. If yes, there's 'Spice land' which sells majority of African seasonings + foods and 'Culture Shop', www.thecultureshop.co.uk - which is also another way to get African food delivered to you. Check both out on Google and maybe Instagram, they are pretty well known amongst African students at UEA🎉☺️

    How diverse is UEA?

    • @destinynkechi3053
      @destinynkechi3053  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, in my opinion UEA is very diverse! We have a large number of international students from all over the world along with all races tbh and loads of different cultural societies✨

  • @gangXterSaad
    @gangXterSaad 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey would you say Norwich as a city is diverse? Compared to London or Birmingham

    • @destinynkechi3053
      @destinynkechi3053  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Norwich city itself, not so much. It is a predominantly caucasian city, however if you're going to UEA to study, the likelihood of you spending a lot of time in the city is low. Campus will likely have everything you need and campus itself, is extremely diverse. I haven't been to Birmingham in quite a few years so I can't speak on its diversity and London is way more culturally diverse✨
