Hello, good question. No, I did not have to add any oil to the skillet since it's a well seasoned skillet. If you are going to purchase one, look for a seasoned one. You can find them at Walmart or any Cracker Barrel Restaurant. The brand that I love is Lodge Cast Iron out of Chattanooga, TN.
Thank you for the compliment! I would not recommend a cookie sheet but would suggest a cake pan or brownie pan, maybe a 9x9 glass dish. You want something that has a deep enough side to it to support the biscuits as they rise in the baking process. I hope this helps! Send me a picture when you bake them. :)
