Thank you so much for your teachings over the years. My son has anxiety and when he does something bad hes been saying that hes a bad boy and cries and I told him that hes not and that I love him no matter what and even if and he immediately sighed relief however I did have to clarify the if statement because he is a bit dyslexic and adhd so he thought it meant i wouldn't if he did x, y, z so i had to clarify and explain. I know he is confident because I am, and even so, I have to constantly remind him that he is loved because he's a kid and dealing with so many pressures at school that he can't verbalize or even understand fully. No one is confident 100% of the time- not even adults 😀 Modeling is the key ❤
"If one person is going out of control, wether parent or child..." Love this. We all want to build a stronger base for our kids to grow from, and obviously that starts with us controlling ourselves. One thing I've noticed is support. I'm ADHD and I get more short tempered when I don't feel I'm getting the support with all the kids when I need it. My poor hubs feels like I need more support than is available. He's right. How do we mitigate that? I already have work. Is the work thing from the Waldorf system? Yeah, we say, "I have to go to work" (to earn a living) instead of "I get to go to work" (to help people by using my skills). Great points!
brightpage1020, the first step is becoming aware of why we are feeling out of control so we can understand where the feelings are coming from. Thanks for being here at the channel.
That strength that you spoke about comes from the Lord Jesus, that's why it feels so good to show love to others, because God is good and loved us first!
I LOVE this video! Thank you for uploading this! Any tips where I can find these 4 and 5 skills to implement them in my family’s life? I need to teach me and my wife because our daughter has zero confidence but my wife doesn’t see any problem.
The close-up cut scenes cutting the face in half of your co worker is distroying the story. Place 2 more cameras in an angle to provide close up scenes or separate more one to each other to have a clear close-up scene with one camera! I really love your channel ❤️
As an ECE who works with kids every day, fixing the parents is the hardest part of my job because they think they are perfect and their kid is the problem! I have two kids, one with lots of confidence and one without, explain that! Lol
FemBot, it does seem that some kids come equipped and some don't. You sound like you are up for the job to help your child become more confident and hopefully we can aid you in that goal.
You're already well on your way. It's about changing the neural pathways, and that takes some practice. You might find this episode helpful too: th-cam.com/video/iD52aFiZwBw/w-d-xo.html DrPaul
Do you have a video on children being bullied, and lack of confidence in themselves? And as a parent what can we do to help. I spoke to the Principal at his new school as he recently came to live with me. and after he spoke to the boys involved it made it worse for him. I feel so bad he comes home so sad and doesn't want to talk about it. He is also isolating himself and doesn't want to join after school things in order to meet new people and make friends.
Have you talked to the school counselor? In some schools they have social groups that meet over lunch or at another time where they practice developing friendships in a low key manner. Otherwise, I would suggest inviting kids over for a play date so your child can get comfortable with other children in his surroundings. You may want to look at putting him into a group that shares his interests but not associated with the school. Karate, art, etc.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV Thank you for responding. I am his Grandmother and he has just been with me for about 6 weeks, and so it has been a learning time for us both. I have currently been talking to a Karate club as it happens and am going to take him there and see if I can get him interested. I will try the school counsellor route also, I am willing to do whatever, to try and make him more comfortable. I have been also watching your other videos and find I am learning from them and trying to put them into practice. Old dog learning new tricks I love your positive approach.
She shares them at 12:05 in the video. 1. Effective Praising 2. Pre-teaching the children 3. Effective Correcting 4. Intensive Teaching 5. Parent Counseling Thanks for watching.
Ok she speaks to fast...im the same way ..I think I need to rush my words or I'll loose the audience. But its too much to be spoken so fast... you don't let him speak at times
Speaking a little slowly is a huge help but I realise being on camera isn’t natural! Thanks so much for the valuable insight Nicholeen.
High Ten!, thank you so much.
I love how bubbly and genuine she is 🤗
Thanks Real Deal - so honored to be on your team! DrPaul
This video should be watched by every parent on the planet!

“Calmness is confidence”... wow, I loved that!
Will Arias Fitness, thank you for watching.
“Calmness is absolute confidence, ready to be focused in an instance to meet any crisis. Self reliance is confidence..”
Love it.

When someone is attacking you, just think to yourself, I really love you and I want to understand what you are saying.
vita movchan, a great way to take the emotions out of the exchange and look past to what is really going on.

As an ECE I find the total opposite interesting
How can i show confidence to my child if i was never confident? I've tried to be but i just can't change...... my children. 😔
Katherine Miller, we can model for them what we want to see.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV Thank you. I will sure try.
I grew up in a home with no love no confidence and yelling. How do I learn this.

Do you have an email you use that people can send a parenting question to?
No, you can join us at go.liveonpurposecentral.com for Ask Dr. Paul, discussion groups, etc.

Hi mate..how do I reach out to u for advice
30 min food crafts, I take coaching clients and you get in touch through the website.
Is it ever too late to implement these confident boosting steps if the child is 7 and displays signs of low confidence
Never too late, there is always hope.
🥰
Maria Phorie, glad you liked the video.
Thank Dr🙂
If confidence is a learned-behavior, my poor 7 year old son, may be doomed.
Nope - your 7-year-old has a very flexible mind still - he has plenty of time to learn some confidence (and so do you Georgeanne!). DrPaul
So, at 50 (me) it IS true! You CAN teach and OLD dog new tricks! Bonus!! :-) Tks Dr.P
I'm not confident and somehow my 10yr old is a lot more confident than me! Not sure how that happened lol but I'm glad.
