Miami Vice is not so much a tv series as a theater quality action movies put into a 45-50 minute format. Also, the series has likely the mid-season actor replacement in tv history. With the replacement actor being Edward James Oimos as Lieutenant Martin Castillo. While the rest of the cast was strong, Mr. Oimos stole the show. Some of the best episodes in the series focused on Castillo. Such as the episode, "Bushido", which is probably better than most action-drama theatric films of the 1980s.

Such a show ahead of it's time plus good soundtrack & visual style influanced some other neo-noir films & comic book based films too.

I loved the show . I just wished they did more w the female cast . They got cases stolen by the leads lol it was a mess for them
