I love that Crockett calls him "Dubs" at first😁 Everything about this pilot episode was perfection. 1984 - anyone who wasn't fortunate enough to have been around in the 80's, just watch all 5 seasons of this show. It's the quintessential lens to observe the full range of what this time in history was like. I'm hard-pressed to find a show that captured it any better than Miami Vice😎😎
Tubbs was so young back in season one. I love how Tubbs would mimic accents so well, including that Jamaican accent that he puts on in several episodes.
to me, Don Johnson was one of the best actors in my generation. Every role he played in he was tremendous. I don't believe he ever got the proper recognition as one of the greatest actors of all time
Don Johnson was ready to leave the show at the end of its second season, and the studio lined up Mark Harmon or Treat Williams to take over the role of Sonny Crockett. The only one not happy with this solution was executive producer Michael Mann, who convinced Johnson to stay on. As a result, Johnson became the best paid actor in the history of television series. Johnson subsequently had to turn down roles in quite a few movies, such as the leads in both The Untouchables (1987) and Die Hard (1988).
6:38 is hilarious! I remember the first time I watched this scene, Crockett said something like "detective Shaft here turns up outta nowhere..." and Tubbs replies with "Shaft. That's a good one," or something like that. Here, he says "Dr. Voodoo." Anyone have any insights?

Don Johnson and PMT were born to play Crockett and Tubbs and together they made TV history. No one like them before or since ♥️
Exactly 💯
Please put some respect on his name Philip Michael Thomas aka Ricardo Tubbs
I love that Crockett calls him "Dubs" at first😁

A team airwolf the fall guy that’s just a few others that where fucking A
Their not so cordial introduction to each other would lead to one of TV history's great crime fighting duos.
The synth music throughout the series was one of the reasons the show made it.
People in the 80s lived for real, and this series conveys that atmosphere. I would really like to live in Miami during this time.
Could I tell you stories 🎉

The Greatest 80s Tv Cop Show Of All Time, Their Hasn't Been a Good Cop Show Since Miami Vice Came To an End In 89
Turned out to be a great partnership.

By 1985,The Cosby Show & Miami Vice We're Both Number One Tv Shows In America,Both Shows Are The Best 💯 Period
This was the greatest series that had on television and they went and took it off and then I've been mad ever since❤❤

His movie career would have been better if he took Die Hard
Classic Friday night TV 📺 💯😎💯
Cooler than a couple of icebergs.
Love that line from.tubbs got the party favours
Best partnerships start out with some friction. Good way to show both guy's personality. Plus no other way to go but up
4:25 love this score cue
" Sweet Dreams
Little Miss Sunshine. "
And the rest is tv history
6:38 is hilarious!

Dr voodoo probably is because of the fake Jamaican accent
Mandela effect?
Even in the french dub he says Dr Voodo..
And thus a great friendship was formed that night
Incredible Actor's
The pilot that started a sensation.
I want his summer jacket
The 80s We're Definitely Over , When This Show Ended 😢
Don Johnson acts more like Nash Brudges than his character in the show.
You beast you!
Jan Hammer Chase also from the movie pilot would have been perfect for the car/boat scene.
I’ve watched this scene countless times but only tonight noticed there’s two people in the boat when Tubbs pulls away.
THE PLACE ON THE TRAIN BRIDGE. IS IT AS FAMUS ?. AS THE CROSS OVER ?. ON THE BEATELS ALBUM ?.
Does anyone know the song playing at the very beginning?
Your asking about an INSTRUMENTAL 🎵 really? However it was the opening theme song to the show. You can start there.
Most renegade trigger happy cop meet cute in tv history lol
We know,that now
Hmmm
Wow I didn’t notice how pretentious this was.
