What is the 1 thing you would change in your shop if you had an unlimited budget?

Build my shop! Still storing everything on shelves/floor in what's supposed to be basement den and then pull out the tools to use on the back patio. It sucks.

A separate shop would definitely be awesome! Is your patio covered partially? Might be able to have some knockdown shop space out there if things wouldn’t rust

Extend it towards the back of my house currently working in my garage full time and it would be lovely if it was larger.

Totally agree! Space seems to be one of the biggest items on most lists. Space and big tools to put there. Have you found an ideal setup for your garage? Playing with layouts on paper

first thought about making the fridge usable _( beyond the obvious refreshments )_
.. space for lists, sketching, notes
    > chalkboard paint .. but you need a *s m o o t h* surface for that to be usable _( failed this on a hall wall, myself )_
    > magnetic whiteboard .. enamel coated steel sheet
I really like the hanging wall control panel

Oooo chalk board or whiteboard would be really handy right there. That’s usually around where I’m looking at project next steps anyway if I haven’t made plans I’m following. Thanks!
Honestly, they have been awesome to have! Since they’re metal, you have more options than with the hardboard pegboards (never liked those, even before hearing about Wall Control)

the chalkboard is probably least expensive, but like I said, you have to ensure the surface is very, very smooth
the fridge is already magnetic .. or usually. if so you could get Idea paint, a paintable whiteboard surface
I am not sure how you would mount a physical whiteboard to the fridge ..but if you built a thin wall enclosing the fridge (doors facing the entry) ..; someone else mentioned "gaining two usable walls" by doing that

My only worry with chaulkboard would just be dust from the shop, but that might be an issue regardless. Whiteboard has always been my go-to preference, so love the idea of making the doors themselves the board with paint (and it is magnetic).
Yeah, love the idea too of having two additional walls. Not sure about the clearance if I rotate it, but worth at least trying for sure!

Nice shop tour video. Really appreciate you sharing the positives and negatives. That wood organization/storage cart is pretty cool! I see you have really taken advantage of it!🤣 You've done some really nice work on the organization and setup. Looking forward to more!

Thanks so much! Oh yeah it’s been useful, but super overloaded. Hoping to get everything even more organized and optimized in the “near” future

Edge the scrap timber with the table saw and glue it to make a benchtop or drawers. Reason:Too much wood stored :)

Very true! I did clean it out more recently, but that would be a great way to clean up the shop and slim down the scrap wood bin. Thanks!

The best way to improve that fridge would definitely be BEER!!!!!

Just sub’d great shop. You could turn your fridge so the fridge doors face your house access door then you can build a L shaped wall around the side/back of the fridge which means you gain two extra walls for storage. 👏🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇬🇧

Thank you so much!! Love the idea of adding walls around it for storage! Wrote that one down just now. Thanks! I appreciate it!
