Good video but I think it's really important to also cover the issues that the QC2 have and wether they still exist with these. The Bose app was super buggy resulting in constant disconnection from the buds. Many people also reported consistent audio drop outs, including myself. Also Bose announced that some of these features would be available as a firmware update for the QC2 which hasn't happened. Now they come out with these new buds, which are actually not that different from the originals, and include the firmware update that they promised for the previous version. It's super frustrating. I find that these are one of the few earbuds that stay secure in my ears which I love but some of these grievances are very suspect. Thank you for the review.

I returned the QC2 because the sound was too muddy, strange hiss and disconnections. I kept my old VIVO TWS 2 ANC which have a more spatial and defined sound for my tastes and support aptX adaptive for less than 80 euros. I think I'll try the VIVO TWS 3 or wait for the TWS 4 for my X70 Pro Plus. Maybe the Ultra has what's missing..... What I regret about the Bose was that they fit better in my ears but they weren't worth the price. .

Great review. I've liked Bose devices I've had in the past so it's great to see these do so well.
I've had earbuds from Sony, Earfun, LG, Anker, Cambridge Audio, Shure, Sennheiser, Creative, Lypertek and most recently my first Apple airpods - the pro 2. The airpods have been my favourite all rounder to-date for the balance of ANC, transparency, audio quality, call quality, ease of use, practicality and comfort. They're the only wireless earbuds I've had which handle the sharp screeching on the London Underground Jubilee line! (I'm using iOS and also android).
I have some Bose and Sony over ears which I like for different situations but they loose out on portability.

Hello Mike, thank you for the great review of the Bose QC Ultra. I just got mine, and I'm still adapting to it since I've been a Jabra 85T user for a long time. One thing that is getting my attention is the delay when I tap the Ultra earbud, which could be for anything, like stopping/starting music or changing the mode. It has a delay or lag between the action and the response to it. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. Of course that could be only a time for me to adapt to the Ultra, but this doesn't happen with the Jabra 85T. Thank You.

I own these earbuds. Here are some observations:
    1. They have improved the phone call clarity.they work well. They are better than any other earbuds I have used.
    2. They now have true multipoint connectivity between two sources. That should be more than sufficient for 90% of users.
    3. They only feature they lack is wireless charging.
    4. These are the best earbuds sold right now, bar none. They are comfortable. They stay secure in your ears when you exercise. I wear them playing basketball. They have absolutely superb audio quality, especially when paired with a Qualcomm Aptx device like the Samsung S24 Ultra. But regardless of source, they have unbelievably great sound. They have long battery life. And here's a really important feature. The controls on the earbuds are the best I have ever used. You can control everything quickly and accurately.
    5. These earbuds look amazing. They beautiful.
    6. The Bose app is well-designed and easy to use.
    7. The range of these earbuds is second to none. I play basketball in a full-court gym, and these earbuds easily cover that range. I suspect that you could be 100 feet from your phone, and they would still work great, but I haven't tried that distance yet.

This is a a pure Bose promo.
    He's pro American brands.
I've tried Sony XM5s, Denon PerL Pro, Bose QE Earbuds II, Air Pods Pro, Nothing Ear 1 & 2, OnePlus Pro 1 & Nord Buds.
Bose - heavy tuned towards low frequency, but best ANC, very comfy but not very stable.
Sony - best soundstage specially with EQ on, 2nd best on ANC, not very comfy with foam tips, ok stability.
Denon PerL Pro soundstage close to Sony, but can get close to Bose with settings tuned. Really good transparency, yet to try on calls and wind. Better stability than Sony, not so great on ANC.
Airpods Pro have the best Transparency, decent ANC very comfy fit. Unlike the Sony and Denon which require Androids to bring out the best, Airpods Pro require an iPhone.
Nothing 1 & 2 OnePlus Pro & Nord are in the budget range. Nothing great to write about.

Honestly, sponsored videos like this really bother me, I know y'all need to earn a living but getting paid by brands you also review? Hmmmmm.
Case in point, the QC2s have a TON of issues and drawbacks including borked software and a promised AptX update that's been delayed since more than half a year. Instead of fixing the (not so) old ones first, Bose releases these Ultras which seem to improve almost nothing and are imo lazy af. Take the case, still huuuge, still no wireless charging. But they sell you a slip-on thingy that adds charging. So you gotta pay extra and they get even bulkier. I expect reviewers to call them out for this nonsense and their general decline in quality (especially on the software-side)), instead we get a bunch of PR talking points.
What's worse though, how can I trust anything you say about these going forward when you'll eventually compare them to the competition? I really can't. :/

In terms of the fit and the wingtips, did they use a thicker material this time around? One of the chief reasons why I (and you, it seems) had such a hard time keeping the QC IIs in my ears for extended periods of time was that the rubber/silicone/whatever-material wingtips were unbelievably thin and flimsy. They wouldn't really "hook" into the concha (the indent above your earholes) the same way that the Pixel Buds Series A do with that little silicone "finger" that sticks out of the top of each earbud. If you were exercising or even just getting a little bit of sweat inside your ears from wearing the earbuds, they'd start to slip right out and they would NOT go back in, no matter how much you'd twist and adjust them.
So, with that said, did they learn from their mistakes and use a thicker and/or less pliable material for the wingtips this time around?

I had the quiet comfort tubes and ended up switching over to the xm5 and found them to be more reliable and less buggy. Also, if an earbud disconnected it would shut off and turn back on again triggering its ear detectioncycle.

As a very frequent flyer, I have been using the Quiet Comfort ii buds a lot if not all the time. I mean from being in a noisy airport to getting on the aircraft to getting off the aircraft with them on and they seem great, comfortable. I don't know, if I do I would order them from Bose, (never Amazon) since you get 90 days to try them, and if they don't blow the last ones away I will send them back...

The problem is not with your headphones but that they don't correspond with your phone. I have two Xiaomi phones and have never had a Bluetooth problem. I also have to disagree with you about the sound. The sound from the QuietComfort earbuds 2 is only good for techno music. They are not suitable for both classical music and warmer pop songs with beautiful voices. The high and mid tones are far too bad for that. However, for bass-heavy music they are the best I've ever had. But I hardly listen to techno

I don't like techno music or noisy music, and I also have 3 pairs of airpods pro 2 (one lightning and two USB C) mostly for sleep. When I use them at the gym (with louder sound), the sound is so boring compared to Bose QC. I've bought almost all brand names earbuds and headphones (Sony, Samsung, beasts, denon, LG, jbl,....), but again, to my ears, Bose QC produces the best sound, and I mostly carry them when going to the gym or traveling.

I just got a pair today, and there is a persistent and irritating electronic crackle! In the left earbud. Kind of like feedback from a speaker on standby. Is that going to happen with every pair of these earbuds?
Apparently they refer to this as a “noise floor” and say that it’s common in electronics, but that’s no excuse for these earbuds. The Beats Fit Pro have it, too.
I know the noise goes away, or is masked, when music plays, but I can’t deal with it.
There is also a mild white noise sound that assists the noise cancellation, and I actually do not mind this sound. I prefer the dead silence of AirPods Pro, but this isn’t a deal breaker for me, unlike the static crackle in the left earbud.
These earbuds sound incredible in every other way, but I’m most likely going to be returning these earbuds well within the 90-day trial period from Bose.

You SHOULD try immersive sound, ITS AMAZING!!!
Sony 1000 MX5 perform better blocking crowd and high pitch noise because of the foam tips but on the long run the replacement cost is higher compared to Bose silicon tips.

The previous version (2022) were great for listening to audio, but terrible for conference calls, for the other people on the call. You give an example at the 7:00 point, but for humans on the other end, how is the noise cancellation of the mic for people on the other end of the phone with these updated earbuds? Is the background noise around the user of these earbuds removed from the audio such that people on the other end cannot hear it? My wife says the people on the other end of her phone call cannot hear her talking clearly over her background noise. She can hear them fine.
Google Earbuds do this. Not sure if Bose has figured it out since the 2022 version.
