    You can buy a quickshifter, autoblipper, yoshi exhaust, and a new airfilter and it'll still be cheaper than the FZ10!

      No autobliper, throttle by wire needed.

    Bought one of these a year ago. Had a Fazer800 before. Wow, what a difference! Every time I climb on I get the grin factor; it does everything! I'm mostly an about town rider so was worried it would be heavy and wobbly, not the case at all; it's happy weaving at low speed. I really love this bike. Get over the looks (how often do you see the front anyway?) and go out and enjoy it; I certainly do!

    Picking mine up this week. The red and black one. I think it's a gorgeous bike in person. I'm so ready for one of these sport touring bikes and this one seems the best for the money as well. Love this bike. I rode my friends and fell in love with it. If it had rider modes it would be perfect but it does have traction control and that's fine with me. You're right, you can't turn off the ABS but for touring around with that kind of power ABS is a good thing. It's so powerful but smooth as butter. I could ride it for 5 hours straight very comfortably. Good review. Nice bike.

    Love Suzuki, mechanically there's something very complete about them. As you say everything just works, which is something you don't appreciate until you try something Italian (I've just swapped my GSXR750 for a Ducati Monster 1200) haha! That being said, I really wish they'd hire a decent designer and jump on the super naked bandwagon. Current GSXR1000R without fairings and a sharper design would sell by the sh*t load.

    Greetings, Chop! I enjoyed this piece very much. I like your enthusiasm! It seemed like you really got on well with this bike. It is certainly growing on me. I ride a 2011 GSX1250FA, which I bought new and is an absolute missile! And though she is showing no signs of slowing down, she is getting older. The more I see of this bike the more I think it would be a fine replacement for my trusty FA should that day ever come. So thank you for the honest review. No, it's not a Tuono V4, or a Super Duke, or a fill-in-the-blank! But for what I am doing, it's perfect. Initial buy-in is low, it's comfortable, upgradeable, performs great and will be cheaper to operate. And I happen to love the look. It's a great value for sure.

    good and honest review mate, i bought one 2 years ago after trying the mt10 and ktm 1290gt, both very good bikes but the zook is a better all rounder in my opinion, the mt i took out nearly ran out off fuel on the test ride after doing only 100 odd miles the zook will do 160 odd to the tank and i found the gt to vibey and expensive ,yes they were a tad faster but not by much

    I own a 2016, after many other bikes. I wanted the versatility that the fairing and protection adds over the naked for long miles on the freeway. It's the best bike I've owned by far. Super comfort, great power everywhere, a sound that is absolutely intoxicating. The snatchy throttle seems to vary from bike to bike, but mine doesn't have it (and I knew about the problem before hand and test rode mine before purchase) I was initially thinking of a Ducati SS, or Honda VFR, but when I saw this bike, I wanted to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. It ticks all of the boxes for me.. The looks? I absolutely love the look of my Triton Blue. I've put on bar end mirrors, a tinted shield, some frame sliders, and if you don't like the way it looks... you suck. ;)

    • @markmywords312
      @markmywords312 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mines a 2016 and I'm amazed the fuelling on yours isnt snatchy, the fuel maps are mostly the same on all bikes and mine is definitely snatchy especially mid-corner, and I've got a fuelling unit to smooth the map out, and its still not great. It's a known problem and mostly the fault of the euro4 exhaust and the fact its a 10 year old engine in a 2016 bike. The 2016 bike also shakes it's head under hard acceleration and has a known stalling problem (the new bike has anti-stall). The 2016 ABS bike also releases the brakes if you hit a small pothole, which is scary. Lots of issues, not a great package, but fun at speed, but not worth the money. The brakes are soft too, needing half the travel before they bite, meaning two finger braking is out. It can be hard work this bike. The S1000r is better.

    • @TheHomeExpert5
      @TheHomeExpert5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@markmywords312 I am the same bike, and the brakes are magnificent one finger can do the trick. My fueling is snitchy, I switched out the throttle for the katana throttle and that did improve it. This bike has Brembo brakes 145 horsepower an amazing seating position and sounds like a Formula One car and you don't like it and don't think it's event a stick deal for the money? You did wrong. Vantastic bike for the money

    I am in America, and I own a 2016 version of this bike. I love the upright position, the higher handlebars and the overall more comfortable seating position as compared to other sport bikes. I think the throttle is too snatchy, I was thinking about getting a booster plug.

    I have a 2016 naked version and I put a racing windscreen on mine and it knocks the wind right over my helmet, if I set straight up and stretch I can feel it then in my face but if I set normal I can cruise fast as I want on interstate no problem! It is light feeling still but that’s what makes it quick! I got mine turned up to 150hp and weight down to 439lbs! It may be even less now. I just did a tail tidy got rid of that mess in the back, it’s now just a small yoshi plate frame and light and nice pointy tail like a proper sport bike! Really helps the looks to!

    The issue with the front breaks over time is that they make a howling sound. Only slight but is a manufacturing fault with the discs. Only with this model the GSXR does not have this problem and the GSXS does. There are many forums with the same issue. Replacing the pads does not help. Just have to put up with it.

    Hi again, my 2018 snatch got worse with chain stretch which means it had to be adjusted frequently. It also couldn't keep a constant speed without hunting slightly, enough to be annoying. I gave up and put PC V and throttle tamer on and it is now very well behaved.Your right Suzuki couldn't get them inside the euro emissions without running them lean. Thats all the PC V map does is make it run richer all the way to about 7000 rpm.

      It's a bonkers bike the top end pull on it will have you feeling like neo in the matrix mine wants to power wheelie at 10k in 1 2 and 3 but it's truly easy to ride it tamely around town. I picked one up brand new in 20 degree weather and drove it home slowly and nervously lol if you can control yourself and allow yourself to get comfortable before you try to ride it deep into the gears sure but the way this the exponentially makes power is a recipe for disaster if you don't have self control and know what you are doing.

    I have owned a 2016 GSXS-S1000F for - well several years now - hands down the easiest, fun, & accessible of liter bikes. I've never understood the whole "twitchy throttle" complaint... you twist, you get instant power; anything else would be a delay. I heard the gearing is better on the 2018+ models though - thats my only, and I hate to even say the word "complaint", is that 4th, 5th, 6th, are to closely geared - but really, that's not even remotely a deal killer and apparently they fixed it. I agree with Lamb on everything on the review & as a personal owner, it's good to see even a pro knows its a great bike.

From what I understand, they make saddlebags for touring. The euro 4 mapping really ruined the bikes fueling and gave it a twitchy stuttering problem so the flash was a must but either way, it's a proper animal.

      So how jerky was it? I had a k3 600, sold it a year ago and I remember coming from.sv650 to the 600 and thinking wow, this throttle is REAL.

    • @Bredaxe
      @Bredaxe 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      john stokes My personal opinion, but it felt sketchy as shit going into corners and keeping the rpm stable until I learned the bike. It would have a delayed onset power, So I'd give it throttle and it would think for a second as I'm into the corner then, Bam, power would surge in and get a bit sketchy. Honestly the entire problem boils down to the bullshit euro emissions standards and it still uses a throttle cable which needed adjusting for sure. In the end, 4 stroke engines weren't designed to run with the standards they dreamed up. By no means would any of these issues deter me from buying the bike again. It's still fantastic, it just acts like a horse, you have to learn what she likes and work from there. The seating position is so much better and it has good safety features. She's a bad bitch and can be found for a good price because most people overlook it due to the front fairings but don't realize it's still a liter bike.

    So strange.. the Windshield is the most important thing. What is really interesting ist the torque on the middrange, this is the big question with Euro5. As most bikes lost the midrange (remember the Suzuki Bandit? It had over 100NMs @ 3700rmps). And this Suzuki is a brilliant bike except 2 things: The missing midrange at lower rpm and the (too wide) backtire.. A shame, as I do really like this bike but would never buy it with that torque in midrange..

      Thanks Mark, originally I contacted them. I think I was one of the first in the UK they lent bikes too. The complication is they have to add you to their insurance as its a fortune to try and insure a press bike yourself. Normally of course mags have their own cover so its not a problem. So they have to be invested that your going to work with them long term. I have a great relationship with them now so I can borrow whatever I like (very lucky) Cheers Chops

    Hi chops. Good honest review of a bike that tends to slip under the radar. I believe it's power output is is 150 ps [148 hp] not 160hp. It's been around for 3 years or so now and most people are not too keen on the front end. Suzuki should restyle it to make it more pleasing to the eye but otherwise a good bike. By the way have you tried the new Honda CB1000R yet. I took one out for a test ride the other day and what a great bike it turned out to be. It's acceleration is absolutely mental. The fit and finish is superb and it looks great especially in red. It's about a grand more than the Suzuki but it's worth it with it's superior fit and finish and a single sided swing arm. I also think it is more grunty than the Suzuki. Try one if you get the chance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how good it is.

      They tend to make more power than stated by Suzuki if Suzuki claim 143bhp at the Crank.. They definatly under quote that as most stock ones make 135-140 on a dyno

    You get it. Suzuki isn’t really innovating because they’re broke, but they’re otherwise criminally underrated. Their products are nearly perfected. They focused on details to make them better rather than making all new more expensive bikes. This model in particular is constantly overlooked at an absolutely unbelievable bargain for how much bike you get at $11k.

    Hi LCR, I have a technical question : So this bike has a detuned 2005 GSXR K5 engine, can this be remapped using a power commander to ride like a GSXR/ sports bike?. I know some people claiming that using a Rapid bike module (Italian product) they were able to gain 15 hp in Aprilia Tuono. Is there any truth to this?

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rocky, no its not just the map which has been changed from the GSXR spec, different cams, head porting etc etc to give it more torque. You can of course make good gains by doing the normal exhaust / remap route but it will never make GSXR power unless you rework the internals but then you loose the torque..

      Reg Design I heard Suzuki used to hire european designer very often.
      I am very interested in MV Agsta with its cool feature and stylish shape.

    Front is plain ugly. I bought one new due to the engine, and I still haven't come across a bike with one that good or characterful. To me, it felt it would be solid and reliable and last for a long old time. Sold it because I was riding wayyyyyyy too fast on it. It really is a license killer. Granddaughter loved it, she kept asking me to overtake everything when she was on the back :-) So, message to Suzuki, change the front, leave the rest of the thing along as it really is a damned good bike. Oh, I guess one other thing, not sure if possible to fix really, the pillion seat is tiny. Maybe slap on the Katana front like they did to the V-Strom as that could improve the thing and make it look like less of a whale ?
