Doing this now. As of July 22 Groupon is $5 through International Open Academy. Ia am about 30% done and have been working on it for about 3 hours on the '120 Hour' course.

@@smaira5429 I used global tefl/tesl 150 hr Master Course . The cost was around $40 USD on group-on. I did 4 things that were very useful. 1- Copy the text into a word document. Copy each module into its own word doc. Also copy ALL modules into a separate collective doc, where you will have all modules combined. 2- Take the copied text from each module and paste them into naturalreader.com. Now you can listen to each chapter like an audio book. There is a text limit so you might have to do half a module at a time. 3- When taking exams, search the word documents you have created for the correct answer using cntl+find. * This is why you want one word doc for each module and a word doc combining all modules. *Ex. You can search your module 3 document when you take the module 3 exam. You can search the doc containing all modules when you take your final exam. 4- Look for a detail lesson plan online and model it for for final project which is a lesson plan. Yeah, easy now, but not easy later when you start teaching. Any cheap and easy course is unlikely to actually teach you anything useful.
And it's not about cheap and easy it's about learning. Most online courses lack the tools to acquire real learning which will make your experience teaching abroad better.
If you just want a certificate then get the cheapest, but I bet that later when you start teaching you'll want something else... which is a better experience.

Were you able to take the course?
I just got my TESOL certificate from IOA this morning. I paid $5 last night. I took the course overnight, finishing this morning. I'd say it took me about 6 total hours. I simply read and took notes, just bullet points, and I didn't go back to correct any answers. Overall I got 91%, which is plenty for passing. Thanks for the video.

hi, as I see in the video, the certificate merely shows your name, not your specific info (ID, date of birth etc. ) so how could it distinct you from others who have the exact same name as you? And the certificate is a print version, is there any confirmation link to prove to the employers that you actually completed the course there?
@@rojamin I did the course. It is not that easy, easy in accessible reading material, but with your time, commitment to do it properly, read everything not so much. If you do it properly, worth while. You can order the letter of completion which is digital and or can be sent out, transcript of broken down modules pass rate, and the accredited cert at £19.99 which if you want something that looks the business, that is it. Signed by Doctor stamp seal and on distant quality paper.
I have lots of teaching experience and quals, let me tell you. To work online is impossible without a decent cert. International Open Academy provide this. So yes it may be cheap but it is not crap. Not saying you were saying this, but just be aware I did it and since doing it, getting all of the above, I have had 3 job offers online. I had none before offered online with all of my years experience and teaching quals. This made the difference. Good luck.

I have read some of your comments here and I would honestly admit that I obtained a good deal of information on how effectively deliver English classes. Additionally, I want to clarify your uncertainty, concerning a certificate number. Elementally, the certificate number is located on the left side of the given certificate. It's a really bad choice to buy certificates on Groupon. Those certificates are not accepted by the most employers. I had a lot of bad experience with them.

Just be wary everyone that International Open Academy (IOA) and the company they get their TESOL accreditation from (www.icoes.org) are the same company. ICOES accredits no one else but IOA. It's a game for them to make more money and sell you accreditation. There's no accrediting body for TESOL.

It was a good one for 19 dollars I got the hard copy certificate for like 20 dollars and the recommendation letter and the transcript for like 2.50 each it was a great opportunity to get TESOL certificied

I reported it as fraud. The worst is the trick to activate with additional money after they scarf the money from your account.

Awww great , I’ve already applied for it and I hopefully passed the online interview on Skype which took 25 minutes , I received the training materials which was not beyond my imagination but I dunno how would the exams be like ! Good afternoon everyone, at the moment i´m and English teacher working in an institute here in Mexico, and i have plans on opening my very own institute this year, i have over 12 years of experience in teaching English in the beginning and intermediate levels, My question is, how do i certify my students once they have finished the course? if someone would give me some ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

This course must be different from the TESOL course I was going to take in college many years ago. For that course I needed a letter of recommendation from two professors just to be considered followed by two years of intense studying, which would've been three years for me since I work full-time. Go figure!
Yes this course works well for online teaching but it isnt like the actual college credit courses you may get.

Celine Le it depends on what country you would be teaching in and what their requirements are. Many places will still accept this certificate, but other countries or schools may require something more.
I think we should finish whole course once we pay and sigh in because I did and now next day I cannot sigh in and finish rest of the course because it’s keep saying wrong password or user name and link send to email for reset never work. I think its little scam or they want you to pay again and buy again .dont know bit disappointing

If you pay for the course you are fine. They give you options for *extras* that you don’t need, like extended time or the ability to retake the test. Just finish within 60 days of starting and double check your answers before submitting the module exams, you can print the pdf certificate for free, you don’t have to pay the extra for a mailed certificate. Basically don’t add any of the extras lol!

You usually need to be a native speaker to get a work visa to teach abroad. However, it does depend on the country. But you don't have to be a native to take the course.

How come this one cost 19$ when on other websites it cost like 600€++ and in-class can go up to 1500$? It seems weird this one is so cheap compared to other websites
+綾里真宵 because other websites are way over charging you 🤷🏼♀️. In person will cost more of course. But there is NO central accreditation agency for TESOL, so literally anyone can make a TESOL course. I’ve done some of the more expensive ones and this one was just as good if not better.
It's not a 19 $, you pay first to get access to website, that you pay again to buy, then you pay for each step, and eventually you pay for certificate, its 10 times more.

It should printed on your certificate! I've got mine with a unique number on it.

There is no central accreditation body for TESOL certificates. If you are working for a company requiring a certification number you should speak directly with them about what exactly they are wanting. I have TESOL certificates both through groupon as well as a very expensive university program and neither have a number on them. At this point there is a lot of rumor and speculation that China will be requiring some certificate, but they have not actually confirmed these rumours or said what exactly they are requiring as of now.
@@TeacherBrett I work for Palfish right now and they are requiring that each teacher obtain either a TESOL or TEFL certificate by 2019 in order to continue working for their company. Some people have suggested this course, while others say that it won't be approved by China. Have you heard anything about this? Do you think this course will be sufficient to continue teaching ESL to Chinese students?
@@alyvializ7821 there is no reason this course shouldn't be accepted. However at this point the Chinese government hasn't actually given any official word on what (if anything) will be required. I would suggest paying the extra $20 at the end of this course to have a hard copy of the certificate sent to you, because it will include a certificate number which some companies are wanting.

Anyone can take this course, however most schools will also require a bachelors in order to teach there
You do not, I got a job without a bachelors, be careful about what your being told. Do your research yourself. The course is accredited you pay extra for this cert from them. Research Online Tutor courses and jobs that don't require a degree. It pops up, many companies. Also popping in online Tutor jobs, loads over 100 companies. You got to apply yourself to find the answers you want. I did the course, it took me a week, I committed proper time aside, read material twice, then did assessment. Got job a week later online. Many offers followed with those that were specific. I don't have a bachelors degree yet got offered the job due to my Tefl and classroom experience.
