I was born and raised in El Paso. Not entirely sure what the point of this video is. But here are a few corrections based on the first 5, painful minutes I had to watch:
    1. The city has over 700,000 residents not 500k.
    2. You went to the shopping district on an evening where Mexican nationals, which make up the majority of downtown shoppers, are home. If you go during the day, it’s busy.
    3. The people you saw were more than likely residents or Mexican nationals visiting. This is the second largest binational, bilingual area in the Western Hemisphere where hundreds of thousands of people cross back and forth everyday. Stop vilifying every brown person you see in a city that’s 80% Hispanic.
    4. The trash is there due to the high winds, not because of migrants. If you’re from the Southwest, you would know this.
    5. Those are Sun Metro city buses.
    6. The city isn’t being overrun. It’s so strange how you didn’t visit the rest of the city where it looks looks and feels very suburban. You visited the dirtiest, filthiest part of the city and you think it represents a whole city? The migrants we have are here legally and are only clustered in front of the church you saw - they can’t board buses without documents showing they’re here legally, lady. It’s also extremely rare to see them in other parts of the city or in other parts of downtown.
    7. The city is one of the safest in the country despite your racist misconceptions and dog whistles. I’m 99% sure our crime rates are lower than wherever the hell you’re from.
    Kindly, never come back ❤

      1. Did you even watch the video?
      2 I said pop 678K
      3. I was there on a weekday and it was in the AM not at night. I said this in the video, which you clearly didnt watch
      4. for trash to blow around someone needs to throw it on the ground. I did not say the migrants did this. The people who live there couldve done it for all i know. Its just there
      5. They are literally giving every person who crosses the border paper work with court dates in 2026 or later.
      6. Thank you for watching the video - even though it sounds like you didnt really watch it, just wanted to make some accusations of what you thought i was doing

    • @GianVersace

@@risingcrimenews 1. They’re not giving everyone who crosses documents - they’re only giving them to Venezuelans. If you knew anything about immigration law, you would know the United States does not have diplomatic relationships with Venezuela, which is why their asylum claims are usually processed. However, they are still vetted and if they have committed crimes or been deported in the past, they are not eligible - this is basic immigration law that those of us who live, work, and play on the border, completely understand.
      2. You also falsely assumed there were more than 11 million undocumented people in the country. Once again, the people who are arriving at America’s Front Door are doing so legally, as asylum could be requested at ports of entry or between ports of entry. The overwhelming majority of the 11 million undocumented people also came in legally and have overstayed their Visas. Your assumptions about an “overrun” border are cynical, lies, and dangerous misinformation perpetuated by someone who does not live here.
      3. Once again, never come back. Our city is much safer without your kind. ❤️

Actually there is probably a million people in el paso, that stat was the same 20 years ago lol. Crime has increased that's a fact, I was just looking at the stats the other day. el paso was one of the safest cities in United States. I use to work for union pacific railroad in el paso crime certainly has increased so has our spending and yet not much development on our transportation (streets} other than commercial monopoly projects. We loss our chief Greg Allen and I know from exp the people that live here do want a border check. El paso downtown looks better than it did 20 years ago.

Amazing how racist this country is. I moved to El Paso a year ago, and the last thing I have seen is any invasion. I moved here because I got tired of the snow and leaves of Massachusetts. I also moved here because it's MUCH cheaper than living up north. I live in a fantastic clean high end apartment complex. As a veteran who twice did TDY at Fort Bliss years ago, I love the military aspect of the city. I live in a huge complex and I have to say that 90 percent of the residents are active duty Army or veterans. Talk about a safe city. Every other car has veteran plates or old unit insignias which I love seeing and also have on my car. You go shopping in Target or Walmart and complete strangers come up to you and say how's it going BROTHER when they see my US Army Armor veteran. I grew up in NYC and this is by far the safest city I have lived in. The migrants I run into are ALL incredibly respectful and friendly. I'm tired of these bigoted trump maga supporters spewing their vile talk. I also love that El Paso is one of the few DEMOCRATIC cities in the state. I am an Independent but I'll vote Democrat over the bigots, even though I am not fond of Biden.

Mt Franklin sits in the middle of the city, thereby dividing it. We have the eastside, the lower valley, the northeast, central area, and the westside. Yet, this woman decided the city is horrible by driving around the small downtown area.

I have a roadmap of El Paso from the early 80s. For example, in 1984, the speed limit on Zaragoza Rd. was 50-55 mph, and no more than 55 on I-10 in Hudspeth County, now it's no more than 45 on Zaragosa Rd. and up to 80 on I-10 in Hudspeth County & all across west Texas, in 2024. go figure.

If you find any words misspelled, I’m doing talk to text OK young lady you are very very disrespectful of our city. I am a black female of 60 years. My grandmother was born here in El Paso. My great grandparents were educated and my great grandfather worked on the border and my great grandmother taught school, speaking formal English and Spanish my parents were born here. You must’ve been downtown El Paso early morning. The buildings that you claim were boarded up were actually buildings businesses which hadn’t opened yet and they had the metal pool downs that they use in the malls in mid cities that I’ve seen and downtown in many cities that I’ve seen where they have those metal Deals closed. You’re not gonna find very many vacant shops abandoned buildings downtown El Paso unless they were negatively affected by the economy downtown El Paso is not you saw a man on the side of the road and you immediately said he had to be on something he appeared to be disabled or handicap, the people that you saw walking around the street more than likely or people who lived in that area and they were walking to their jobs and or to the bus station when you were sitting at the light and you said that you saw all of these buses had you look to your left and looked up you would’ve seen that that was the metro building in other words that is the main hub for the city buses, and all those buses that you saw were city, buses, and many of the people that you saw in that area were headed to catch the bus some of the people that you saw sitting on the corners they were probably waiting for the buses to come that way You did not pass the Central Park downtown. You would’ve seen a crowd of people that were there waiting for either rides that picked them up rides shares or people who were waiting on the buses to come rather than walking all the way to the main hub, El Paso is predominantly Hispanic, so you are going to see a lot of Hispanic people walking around El Paso now El Paso like any other city homeless people not all the homeless people are across the border we do have some of the people who are part of this new migration that has come up the place where you would have seen the buses that are busing. The people out of El Paso would have been at the greyhound bus station or there’s another bus station downtown, that’s where you would’ve seen those who were being moved out of El Paso into other cities states I like the way that you come in the population of people who are in the city without citizenship that could go down because people have gain their citizenship and are no longer considered citizens or they have been naturalized And are here legally or they have moved out of El Paso I don’t think that you should be online commenting about our city and giving the wrong information. El Paso is not rundown. El Paso is not trashy. El Paso is filled with people of love of race color, creed religion at the status I feel sorry For people who are listening to you and believing you you are very wrong. You are very disrespectful and I really would bite you to take your video down on El Paso. I will not subscribe to your page because I will not trust anything you say about anything else or anyone else, as far as seeing people you’re not gonna see them out in the open like that you were riding through historic city a city with a lot of history a city of a lot of pride and I really pray for you. I pray that you cannot allow yourself to be so negative, so judgmental and borderline Racist God bless you get to really place and it’s people before you start reporting on a city and I asked her anyone else who is knowledgeable about El Paso like the young lady who came on and said she fell in love with the city I have not taken time to read, but if there is anyone from Elvans or who knows El Paso who disagrees with this lady I would ask that you all stop following her. I would hate to take her advice on any other place or any other event that she reports on because she is apparently going off of her feelings and the fact, and not realize that those places were not boarded up but actually lockdown and secured prior to opening. It appeared to me that it was early morning that she was there because downtown had not start bustling because she been downtown during the busy time of the day she wouldn’t have been cruising through like she was downtown is very busypopulated you have people working you have people shopping you have house it’s beautiful to see the people when when the downtown area is bustling and she’s not very far from our university so and in our community college and she needs to take time to see the history and historical buildings and parts of El Paso that she was passing and criticizing God bless you lady and good luck to you

I think you should do more research about the city you are visiting before coming here and trashing this city with your words. The Spanish language and Mexican people have been in this region since the late 1500s back when it was called New Spain. More than a century before the US ever became country. It shouldn't be a surprise that the city has an 82% hispanic majority, so those people you call "visitors" in your video could be locals. Look in mirror. You're the visitor.
Most big cities have crime. El Paso does have crime, but it's nowhere near as bad as other major US cities. We have border patrol, state patrol, local police, and the sheriff all around town, so El Paso is actually a pretty safe city and I also find it a very family friendly place too. The only real bad crime that happened as of recent was back in 2019 when a mass shooting that was caused by a white boy who's not even from here. He came from the DFW area to El Paso to shootup a Wal-Mart because "muh replacement theory".
I also don't understand why you have an issue with people walking. Walking is good for you. Maybe you should get out of your metal box with wheels and go talk to people instead of judging from the driver's seat. You might find that some El Pasoans served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq or Afghanistan.

I just drove through the city and stated what I saw. Sorry it offended you. The statistics of crime are just so people know. Its not to say that the city is bad or good. Just the statistics. And the people I was referring to as Visitors were the ones that my eyes say coming in from the border. Not the people hanging out on the streets. Maybe that wasnt clear in the video but thats why I said that. I saw them coming in

@@risingcrimenews Locals cross between Juarez and El Paso all the time to party, get affordable medications/dentists/therapy, shop, or visit family. You simply don't have a clue what you're talking about.
Also, a 10% uptick in crime, in El Paso, is basically imperceptible. This type of content is just lazy.
