Yes it’s very hard to find the correct ones. Even at the dealer we used to have trouble.
I used Spicer u joints . Supposedly they’re the best. At least I’ve heard that.

2001 2500HD ..I screwed around with the press back and fourth.. attempted to twist.. pressed it the other way.. the cup still wouldn't twist. finally I said screw it pushed it back to the normal position took my cutting wheel.. Cut cut and while it was still hot used a socket and and hammer Tap tap and the cups came right out. The first universal joint took me an hour to get out. The second with the cutting and tapping took me 15 minutes. But I have a steel drive shaft. I don't know if I would have done the same technique if it was aluminum. Initially I was just gonna do the two universal joints, the ones on the ends, but now I'm doing all three. I might end up using the press to put it back together but it was a no brainer just cutting them To get them out. The Allison 5 speed has bolts on both ends of my drive shaft and the support bolts right to the cross member and does not have a rectangular plate.

no need to put a marl on it This only applies with hanger bearing or a slip joint separate from the transmission
