  • In this video I flew down to Georgia to do a colab hunt with ‪@georgiapoints9905‬ for a few days and we found some awesome stuff!
    Right off the bat our first find was a smoker! Arrowheads and artifacts were plentiful on every property. I hope to meet up with him again soon because we had a blast.
    Hope you all have a good one!

    Hey Buddy that is freaking killer, I’m so glad y’all linked up and found some Treasures, I’ve found so much pottery here in Georgia but never a effigy, that just amazes me Dude, the frog and deer were pretty cool, that kinda looks like a camel head to me lol, I watch a dude on TH-cam that finds a lot of fossils and he said one he found was from a type of camel, I had no idea they ever existed on this continent but whatever it is it’s definitely a effigy and that is cool as shit, I haven’t had internet in a few months but you’re video popped up on my mom’s phone when I was as watching videos and I had to stop by the grocery store to use the Wi-Fi and tell y’all congratulations, I’m happy for both of y’all, thanks for sharing Brother, GL&HH!!

      Love the support brother youll never know how much your comments make my day man. There were tons of species that roamed the eastern US 10,000+ years ago but they mostly died off at the end of the ice age (mammoth,camel,big horses, giant sloths,mastadon) and I have had other people say it looks like a camel too haha. GP said he thinks the nose got droopy when the clay was wet. The camels wouldve been extinct by the woodland period which is why Its most likely a deer. We should definitely do a 3 channel hunt sometime in the future if everyone is chill with that.
      Have a good evening man 🤙🏼

      I still can’t believe we only saw a frog and deer all day then find effigies of both. Thats the stuff that makes me belive in ghosts and spirits and stuff bro because that was too real. Im genuinely convinced my grandpa directs me to points from heaven man because I have verbally said “show me a point grandpa” and literally instantly I will find one but only in a way when I feel a weird presence because I dont just say it like “man im not finding anything might as well ask” I only do it when theres a weird feeling about the area and it sounds weird in writing but I cant explain it well. • @eastcoastlithics
      @eastcoastlithics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well when I shoot my bows my arrows tend to get lost even in very short grass. Lots of points were broken, lost, discarded, or just plain forgotten about. Its not like they disappeared when they left a site. The stone point can remain there for millions of years if not more considering it is stone. There are so many arrowheads (more commonly atlatl points) because a billion people lived in ancient North America over the past 12000 years and each hunter lost and made thousands of points and tools.

    Using anything metal to dig something out is just crazy!! Look what you did to the one you just found! You can use a sharp stick or even better a sharpened Dow rod. You can dig all day and not knock off a chip or hurt it in any way. The one you chipped with your knife didn’t need to be dug out, all you had to do was pull it out with your fingers! Why would you take a chance of ruining an artifact with something metal when all you had to do was pick it up?

    • @eastcoastlithics
      @eastcoastlithics  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was burried in the hardened clay 🥳
      I wouldve peeled off my fingernails trying to get it out ✌🏻

  • @joewalker9325
    @joewalker9325 ปีที่แล้ว

    All drills are beveled! No offense but you guys haven’t hunted very long have you? Your picking up a lot of junk that’s not even an artifact! If the stuff your finding now gets you that excited, wait till you find a good one. Keep hunting you’ll get a better eye for them eventually. Also your hoot and hollering ruins the video.

    • @eastcoastlithics
      @eastcoastlithics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I apreciate constructive criticism, not all drills are beveled though. Some pencil drills are just knapped in a long way at random for example. Im not gonna be that guy picking up random rocks, all of the things we picked up were artifacts 👍🏼
      Some people enjoy seeing people’s genuine reactions to finds because they can share that feeling. Im sorry for the annoyance of hearing us get exited haha. What did you think of the effigies?

    • @joewalker9325
      @joewalker9325 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have liked to have seen them cleaned up more to get a better look at them. And all drills are tapered! Look at the end of the drill, unless it’s broken it will taper to a point! They made small punches that look like drills but there not. If you get that excited about what your finding there, I would like to see your reaction in a rock shelter that I know of in Kentucky! You would go crazy when you started finding the things that are still in there. You would have dig and sift but it would be well worth it when you seen some of the things you would be finding. I like your enthusiasm when you find an artifact. I’ve been hunting for over 50 years and I still get fired up when I find something! You guys are young and have a lot of hunting ahead of you and will always get excited when you find something but, please use something that is a little less destructive like a pointed piece of wood or plastic. You won’t damage the artifact like you did with your knife!

      @@eastcoastlithics definitely looks like it, but could he part of a pot I suppose, pipes are few and far between but ulll find more if you're dedicated.
      For stone pipes/bowl pieces/stems if it's 50% complete we count it as a pipe vs just broken fragments we all have found also of broken pipes. I have a few stone pipes, a bowl piece, a stem and a full "Chillum" style pipe. dad has several, uncle has several more, brother has a couple, we all also have various Kaolin Clay Trade pipes, from white colonial pipes to French trade pipes, whole, or broken fragments and stems stuff like that.but we've all hunted for 20-40 years each lol
      But point is ulll find another, I'm guessing ya missed one tho and it looks nice lol 😂 sorry kid
