The Normandy SR-1 and SR-2 are stealth reconnaissance frigates actually, not cruisers.
The SR2 is not considered a cruiser anymore according to the codex. It too bigh to be a grigate and too small to be a cruiser, which makes it a new class i guess^^

WAS a frigate, the SR2 it has no distinguishable class, which is stated in ME2 in the codec
+Benjamin Samuel can we not tell by looking at the comparisons of the 2 species ships (Turians/Humans) that designed the Normandy?
Paul Fogarty Most likely the SR2 could be considered the first of a new class of ship, perhaps.

the sr2 in the codex stated that it was too big to be a frigate but too small for a cruiser.
It could be considered a Heavy Frigate or a Light Cruiser, since those two classes of ship are larger then a Frigate and smaller then a Cruiser, respectively

This is what Bioware should have developed as a supplement to the Mass Effect series, with ground battles between reapers and humans in the style of classic RTS. I'd love to see the M-920 Cain in future titles as well since it's the best BFG ever created.

ForestNinjaZero A Mass Effect RTS could be pretty cool. I wouldn't really choose BioWare to make it though, since it's simply not their area of expertise. Although, that said, neither was multi-player, and barely more than 20% of the historical Bioware team actually remains in the company since EA gained ownership of them. So it likely hardly matters anyway if EA just commissioned yet another studio as usual.
Either way, despite it being a fun idea, I wouldn't want to buy any RTS made under EA's name anyway, having seen how they've monumentally fucked up the Command and Conquer series.

Everyone in ME looks cool, and ME ground forces are really strong when compared to many sci-fi... But their ship-to-ship space weapons are trash.
There are far better sci fi, that's why.
Those ship models look fantastic. Whoever built them nailed it.
The reapers don't use energy weapons. They use Eezo to magnetically propel Molten metal at nearly a 5th of light speed. Thats why its so devastating, because it fires at a higher velocity then Council ships who fire at a 10th of light speed.

i was expecting the reapers to just be like `LASERS PZZZZZZZZ`across you entire fleet and detroy everything
Second Life does have a massive Stargate network that fully works, and I'm friends with one of the guys that codes it, and it includes wearable code emitters (Forget their name, the ID transmitters), DHDs (Human, Ancient and Goauld Style), ZPMs, individual dialing, gate priority, irises, different, fully animated (and lethally fwooshing XP) gates (SG1, Atlantis and Universe Styles) and a full on SGC that's incredibly authentic. So if you can bare the many other aspects of Secend Life, or want to go with the alternative (Forget the name, Openlife or something? Runs off personally hosted servers, rather than rented from Linden Labs), which apparently is also getting such a setup
Cool I have heard strange and wonderful things about Second Life.
It is an odd place, a lot lik.e Camelot in it's silliness, there are people from just about every part of the internet. You often hear bitching about the fur community there but it's generally more sedate than some others, but so long as you avoid accepting group animations and stay out of the 18+ areas (For this is the concentrated internet after all), you're generally alright for any of them.
There are actually a lot of cool fur avatars but you'll generally have to buy them generally or else model them yourself as wearable items on your character, which is a generic human, though if you're willing to fully animate the thing you may be able to replace your actual player model (Not sure, been to long since I've played, think you can occlude the player model but not mess with the collision mesh).
tl;dr
You can do awesome stuff but if you don't want to see poorly animated sex/porn avoid the adult areas (For this is the internet, and people need to get over being offeded that sex exists)
I made a fully working Stargate network on the teen grid back when I was young enough to be on there, worked mostly the same as the main grid, no idea if anyone continued to use it though.

the ships in 40k, the fucking light cruisers are 3 kilometers long.
thing guy I don't see why it wouldn't work. All it needs is a bit of scaling.
thing guy 3 kilometres means nothing to a 3D mesh. Same as it means nothing to painted models on a game table. As long as the war-hammer ships were in scale to each other, you can make the models whatever size in-game as you please.

Wtf dude the mass effect series is the best trilogy of games I have ever played, they even made me cry like 3 times...the story and freedom is just so beautiful and awesome.
I must admitt... I was expecting something more of this... hopefully version for remaster won't take long to make and will be awesome.

The fem shep actor is better in the first game, but after that I think the male voice actor turns it up a notch.
True if you plan to be good shep, but the female voice acter always does a better angry and bitter shep.
Zolen Delocus Yeah that's what I've always thought, Mark Meer does a better paragon Shepard while Jennifer Hale does a better renegade Shepard.

It does kinda make sense there is no research available.
Not only is it pretty well stocked for ship types in the mass effect universe, if the reapers are in the galaxy that would mean that the invasion has begun and research would be getting crippled more and more by the hour as worlds go dark and are lost one by one.
Sure, since this is the battle for the Citadel, it could be said that this is the initial invasion attempt in mass effect 1, but with the Geth on the council races side, I'm thinking not lol

Garry's Mod actually has a really incredible StarGate mod. The only issue is the map sizes really limit what the ships can do. Other than that, it's just fantastic.

in the lore they only group up if you can get everyone onboard... the three races must get or you fail is the turians and the krogans.. .but you can get all the council races and then some
Yeah Harbinger is about 10,400 ish RU's if you play as the reapers, but the Reapers have a very limited amount of ships to construct.
This makes me want to get homeworld.
well... one of my friends worked on the Gary's mod stargate series mods, some models and scripting from what I know.
I seem to be unable to get the moddb version for remastered to work on my gog version of Homeworld Remastered.
...And the .txt file is NOT really helpful.

Hey Shack you should do a lets play on this game with this mod. You go against the AI or against your friends and make up situations like where the Reapers are and who needs to stop them. Like you can do a map and have the alliance try to hold off the Reapers who are coming from the mass relay. You guys make armies on or off camera and give a certain time for when you are going to start the battle and in that time you are just building ships ready for the battle.Then once the time comes you guys fight it out. I think that will be very enjoyable to watch. Other times you say that you can only make Turians stuff against the Reapers.

Im just thinking out loud here. if Alteran is still at Shacks place, then there could possibly be a cooperative Republic at War multiplayer using the local network. Never tried it but it could work.

I've had some issues with the pheonix entertainment mods , the translation download they provide doesn't seem to work , might need to check the folders myself, but the one mod I can't get to work is the startgate one and thats the one I really wanna play >

You two should try to play the 'Stargate' game in Starcraft 2, called Gatecraft Galaxy. It's just named Gatecraft Galaxy, but the names of the races are correct; Tau'ri, Wraith, Replicators, Ori, Asguard, Asuran, Lucian Alliance, Go'auld(Mispelled sorry, not a huge Stargate fan myself), Free Jaffa, uh... I think that's all of the races included.
It's a 4x game. Every planet has a stargate you can send land forces through while you also have space forces to worry about. You have 3 resources to use; (Minerals?), Tech and Energy. You can mine minerals from asteroids ((It has a special name, forgot what it is)) or from planets, and you can create tech or energy from planet buildings.
All of the races are considerably different in tech; Asguard have amazing ground walkers and have a super mobile fleet, whereas the replicators are great at making swarm ground armies and can force damaged titans to fight for them ((DEVASTATING against the ori!)). The Ori only have fighters and their titans, but they shoot amazing white beams of death, have great hardened shields and can construct supergates in space. Wraith are good at spamming darts, but to be honest they feel like they are the weakest faction ;c
You two should check out Galaxycraft in the Starcraft 2 Arcade if you can.
Please do a battle with more Reapers, it could be fun (for the Reapers).

Sins of solar empire rebelion has sgi stargate mod which is pretty good but it works only for 1.8 version of the game mod makers are currently adding and fleshing out lots of things for newest sins version and said its gonna be as good as star trek armada 3 on quality

you should check out the dreadnought game play on youtube the video I saw was the devs playing a team death match. As good as the game looks if their is going to be mod support then this game has the potential for some really cool games.
