I've been hearing this dang clattering sound coming from my windshield for months and always thought it was inside and couldn't find anything! Finally looked around on the outside and saw my trim was rotted on this piece and flapping in the wind! Can't really find replacement online so will be doing like you did and just going through a dealership. Thanks for the video!
I’m glad you found this video useful!
Great video, thanks for putting the links with the part numbers in the description, got them ordered for my Chevy (exactly the same just not as high👍😎) from my dealership. 🙂
Right on! I’m glad this video helped you out!
I have a 2016 Yukon and it's now August of 2023. Brutal summer in Texas.. But I'm sure mine would have done this eventually anyway. I just went through a drive thru car wash and mine just cracked and came apart the same way yours shows. I figured this would be a dealer part anyway. Sad that GM can't make a part like this last more than 7 years. I have a 2000 lexus that has this same component and it's still holding. I would have liked to know how hard the wipers were to remove. But looked fairly painless compared to a classic vehicle. Thanks for the vid.
Great video, very informative and thanks for reminding me to order the extensions! Nice truck bruddah 🤙🏻
Mahalo for checking out the video! I didn’t see a video anywhere on TH-cam so I decided to make one…I’m glad it was able to help you out!
Excellent video. I just replaced mine and it is so nice now. Actually, I thought I had another form of dash rattle, but it was the rubber on my old air inlet grille that was tapping on the windshield!! I did go one step further and I painted my wiper arms. Looks like it did when I bought this truck brand new in 2014!! Thank you for this video! BTW, I had to replace the plastic push pins as mine were toast!
I’m so glad you were able to get something out of the content!

When removing the cowl you needed to disconnect the fluid line quick connector fittings. Did it require anything special, other than, just pulling the male and female parts apart? It looks like the quick connector end that is part of the cowl assembly is oval shaped. Did you have to twist them apart, or, just pull them straight apart? Thanks.
For my truck it was pinch and pull. No special tool needed…thanks for checking out the video!
Great video. Was there a lot of cabin noise like leaking air coming in? I am experiencing that myself. Please advise. Thank you.
Yes, it was the weirdest thing. I have had my windshield replaced at least 3 times in the last 5 years and I couldn’t figure where the noise was coming from and just by luck I found it was the cowl. I didn’t experience leaking air, more like a rattling sound on the windshields. Thanks for checking out the video and don’t forget to subscribe 🤙🏼
Do you need to remove the cowl to replace just the seal?
Great video!!
Which website do you order the replacement parts from?
Chevy Dealership… The part is VIN# specific, so I wanted to make sure I had the correct part. Thanks for checking out the video 🤙🏼
Man you could have saved 70 bucks on those end caps. Dawn dish soap to clean them up then spray them down with Shine More
I would have done that but the tabs that lock in place were worn out so they rattled while driving🤣. Thanks for checking out the vid 🤙🏼
