Bit late to this, hopefully you're still around the channel checking in... Just bought one myself for my fishing boat. Hopefully it does the job 🤞 have you thought about mounting the battery to the trailer so its always there ready to go?

Hello, does anyone have a link for this winch. I have bought one from ebay and one from amazon and none of them had free spool...had to return both of them

You should put vblocks instead of the rollers where the bow of the boat meets the winch pole .

I have the same cheap chinese unit and was wondering if mine was unusually loud, but I can see yours makes the same ringa ding ding as mine...but loud !

Hi Adrian, I also have a Power Winch brand (312 ?) winch that wasn't up to the task and it makes the same noise, so much for discrete retrievals

How do you install it? Getting in & out so easy?

I found those cheap Chinese electric winch wouldn't pull my boat up the trailer. I ended up using an Atlantic manual 3 speed winch 5:1, 10:1, 15:1

I had a good quality winch to start off with that should have been able to pick the boat up vertically going by their spec sheet but couldn't pull it up the trailer. Lesson learned go for the next size up, a snatch block is another alternative and others get good results with a 4X4 recovery winches. Glad to hear the Atlantic works well, they also make a electric winch that I have seen good reviews on.
For me and my little light weight trailer sailer (around 700 to 800 kg) my electric winch is the difference of being able to always retrieve the boat solo or having to require a helper. Thanks for watching.

... a sailing buddy uses a cordless screwdriver, which he puts on the nut of the crank, works fine ...

Hi Pawlov, I have seen that an you the adapter is only around $10. I had a chat with a guy at the ramp using that method and he was also only pulling up a little light weight tinnie with the trailer buried in the water. He said he had tried everything from electric trailer winches, 4x4 winches, cheap cordless etc. He said from his experience you need a quality tradesman cordless, needs to be a 36 volt not 18 or 12,

Oops... sent before finishing Part 2... the drill needs to be a full expensive tradesman professional drill WITH metal gears 36 volts .... in other words a $500 plus drill. If you happen to already have one, great !
$10 and you are up and going, if you have to buy the drill probably cheaper options which is the way I went and the cordless remote

Have a Fulton XLT, power winch, not that it's installed, doesn't work and trying to find some video's on why is impossible, Saw one video here where a guy had a 7000 lb Fulton winch, says the strap is only rated for 2500 lbs. hmmm, and you should only run them for no more than one minute, and then let is rest for 15 minutes, well that should take me about 2 hours to load a boat that is 28' even if it's half way on the trailer. also instructions are not very good, and after I wired the two leads, didn't work. It has a remote but that won't pair work either. Not very impressed Fulton. Guys, make sure you check the run time on them and the real load capacity

Sounds like a box of rocks running . I'd always be wondering when it's going to quit.

That's the $130 question but they all pretty much sound like that, personally as long as it saves my shoulder I am happy to put up with the rock crusher. BTW, the Unit is still going strong. Thanks for watching and taking the time to add feedback.
